Empanadas were good and the mushroom dish was a good touch. The paella was really a disappointment. While I understand the share plate concept , but charging 42 dollar for chicken and sausage with a 10 dollar upgrade with shrimp is not a cheap dish to share. The rice in the paella was very little and was burnt and mostly sticking to the pan. With no top layer of rice in the dish this made the paella a real flop. Not that I was not in the same party that complained about the service. Plus, being part of a Spanish/cuban family... I know when the rice is crisp or burnt. Accept the circumstances and not make people call you out for the issue. Never again will I go to your restaurant or recommend it. Done. Good luck and I hope the cooking skills improve. read more

While the service was great and the ambiance excellent, the pricing was a mismatch. To be more specific, one would expect an $18 salad to be a meal, yet it was more like a side salad (small for the price and lacking in anything special - it was supposed to have goat cheese yet it was barely detectable). We also order a "Shareable" plate (added the shrimp) for a total of $52, but seriously it was only slightly more than a meal for one (I could have eaten it all myself along with the salad). I guess it just felt a bit like "bait and switch" where the menu description did not live up to the delivery (or the prices). The waitress was kind enough to knock $10 off the tab when we mentioned the small portions, but I still don't think I'll dine here again. read more

Wagyu beef was good but the onions and tomatoes on the bottom were disappointing, chimichurri sauce on the side was good. We went there for dinner and enjoyed the Paella, although it seemed short on Saffron. Our service was excellent. The Spanish Garnacha wine we had with dinner was excellent and reasonably priced. The owner spent time talking to us, which was nice. However, that's the only positive thing to mention here. The service staff were not that attentive and didn't seem like they cared much. It took 10 minutes to get a menu which was at arm's length from the waitress. We were stuck behind a woman with a large dog for a good five minutes while the greeter showed no apologies, while trying to find her a table. The food was bland at best (shrimp), like it was just cooked out of the freezer without any consideration to flavor. We had rice as well and it was the only flavorful dish. However, it tasted and smelled like curry. Guess what? If we wanted Indian food instead of Spanish, we wouldn't have come there. Save your money and time and go eat somewhere else. read more

What a lovely find! We just happened to park & charge on a Saturday morning and crossed paths with the owner who was setting up the restaurant's opening signs. We had been planning to have breakfast at Andrea's on Pine, but sadly they were closed permanently. Luckily, this restaurant had just started serving brunch so we walked in and we were not disappointed. The place is very pretty, cozy and welcoming. My wife and I have eaten there twice. I'm comfortable giving the food and service both 5's. I think the pricing is more than reasonable. The ambiance is a 3 at best. It's really just a big room with tables and chairs. There's zero effort to make it look or feel like anything else. If you were able to dine there and feel like you could be in Madrid, or Mexico City, or Barcelona, the place would be off the charts. read more

This did not feel or look like a tapas restaurant. It's described as cozy but it wasn't that either. It's a very cold, sterile looking small restaurant. Concrete floors with minimal -not Spanish- pics on the walls. It could have been any type of minimal looking American restaurant. The food was so, so. Not much to the menu. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive. The woman who greeted us when we walked in was pleasant. The timing was all off with the service though. My husband and I shared a beet salad to start which came out in seconds after we ordered. We no sooner started to eat the salad than she placed my entree in front of me. It was awkward. I had the egg/veggie dish so it sat while I finished the salad. I felt like I had to hurry up and eat the salad so I could start on the entree before it got cold. Weird. This dish was just okay not all that tasty. My husband's entree came out much later (chicken snd rice dish). So he started eating it when I was pretty much done with my entree. Just off all around. Really great food, small plates, tapas and empanadas. Every dish was delicious and came out quickly. Almost perfect place to hang out with friends. Took off one star because of an odd quirk of the kitchen - all the small dishes were in units of three. Three empanadas, three tapas, you get it. There were four of us in two couples so what to do? Cut one tapa in half and one couple gets a tiny bite of it? Skip the dissection and one person gets left out? This little drama was replayed over and over again - introducing tension in our group completely unnecessarily. We offered to upcharge for four pieces and the owner said no, it would mess up system in the kitchen. Looking around the little restaurant, 100% of the tables were groups of 2, 4, and 8. So small plates of three wouldn't cut it for anyone. What's the deal? Are the tapas in groups of three in Barcelona, and we can't break with tradition? Sorry for the rant. The food was really good. Delicious food! We had the small plates to share. The sauces are full and rich. Not a ton for the portion so be prepared to get a few of them to be satisfied. The albóndigas were wonderful. The nut sauce on the grilled veggies was great. Unfortunately the veggies needed to have been cooked more and that plate was unfortunately disappointing though the sauce was tasty. The server however comped us on that which we didn't expect. That was very nice of him to do so. The patatas bravas were one of my favorite dishes. Great place to find! read more

Went with 2 other friends for lunch. I had been here before when the menu was different. I feel like they still have a few kinks to work out. We need a place like this in Paso Robles. I ordered the Camarones Borrachos with a Tequila Sunrise. My husband ordered the Chicken Empanada Special as did our friend. We also ordered the Manchengo and goat cheese board. We had told our waitress to give us separate checks and I had also asked for no bread to be served with my shrimp. I am gluten free. We had to ask the owner to please move her dog from underneath our table. The Manchengo board arrived and we had to ask for silverware and napkins. When my shrimp arrived, I had bread that I requested to not be served with it. When the check came, it was all on one bill. It's as though our waitress didn't listen to a thing we requested. All that being said, we all thought our food was delicious. A bit on the pricey side, for what we were served, but it was a delicious meal. We will definitely give them some time to get things corrected. We really want them to succeed. We would like to try their 4-6pm Happy Hour with Tapas and Cocktails.
