Both the plain cheesecake and the strawberry cheesecake were phenomenal--rich, creamy, and unforgettable.We also had the French onion soup, which was very good. Had to get the blinzes; price was daunting but it's because they are HUGE, more than enough for 2 with some nice bacon. We are stuffed. Stopped in to share a slice of their "famous" cheesecake. Staff were very kind. Inside was decorated nicely and large display of all the desserts. However there is no seating for anyone who doesn't want to stay and dine. So we stood and ate off a radiator cover. The cheesecake itself was just ok. I'd rate it a 6. What's not to love. Right on Times Square. Walk right in a Sprite clean and walk in. I just want a cheesecake before I left back home from New York. First thing you see is the counter with all different types of cheesecakes. I got a slice of plain and a slice of key lime cheesecake. Then I saw the Red Velvet cupcake so I couldn't resist. They have a huge dining area that gives you a feel of the 1950's diner. The servers are dressed up in all white with the white paper server cap. The chairs are the red leather booth seats. The only thing missing is the jukebox. Maybe there was one, but I just didn't walk around the entire dining area. The food comes in very large and generous servings. I hardly ever leave one star reviews, but this was disappointing. I went to Juniors across from Brooklyn Paramount before a show since I've heard wonderful things from locals... I ordered a medium cooked burger and It came out noticeably burnt, not just well done, actually charred to the point where the flavor was off. I'm surprised it was even sent out like that. The fries were fine, but the "cheese" on top was literally melted Kraft singles just laid over them. For a place with the reputation Juniors has, I expected better quality Maybe I caught them on an off night, but this wasn't worth it. I had to return the meal and walked out really hungry and ended up picking up some pizza at a nearby place Regarding the service, the waitress was extremely nice! This one happens to be closer to the hotel I was staying at. The bar is easiest to get seated quickly as people are always on the go. Get the cheesecake for dessert or take it to go. Junior's is a classic institution. Not a place chasing trends or reinvention - this is where you come for old-school New York deli food, done the way it's supposed to be. I don't experiment here. I order the essentials. The two-meat sandwich is the move. Both meats are excellent, but the pastrami really stands out - thick-cut, juicy, and properly steamed. Not dry, not crumbly, not one of those sad versions you see everywhere else. It holds together, releases its juices, and stays tender all the way through. The corned beef is just as good. Rich beef aroma, classic brine-forward flavor, and plenty of moisture - salty in the right way, never harsh. The curing character is there without overwhelming the meat, and the seasoning penetrates all the way through, not just on the surface. One item that deserves special mention is the chopped liver (liver pâté), offered as a classic deli side. This is the real deal - old-school, unapologetic, and full-flavored. Not whipped into a bland mousse, but dense and savory with real texture. After working through two beef sandwiches, your mouth is already full of rich meat flavor, and the chopped liver somehow still makes perfect sense. Especially in colder weather, it's deeply comforting and grounding. And then there's the cheesecake. Dense, rich, and tightly structured - no sogginess, no wateriness, no fluff, no gimmicks. This is proper New York-style cheesecake. The plain cheesecake and the strawberry-topped version share the same base cake; the strawberries are simply added on top. That matters. It means the cake itself stands on its own. Even after two heavy sandwiches, it's hard to walk past the display case. The slice is big, and you're already full - but once it's on the table, you take your time and somehow finish it anyway. Slow bites, steady richness, and an unmistakably old-school texture. It was really good and ate it over a couple days because of how sweet it was. When I arrived, the restaurant was extremely busy but the land for cheesecake or cake takeout moved very quickly. My bff and I stopped by juniors to have a little treat after seeing a Broadway show. I got a cup of matzoh ball soup which had delightful slices of carrot and lots of noodles and two big matzo balls! It was yummy and the broth was very soothing. I really enjoyed it. Of course I have to have matzoh ball soup but when visiting New York City. The weather is getting cool in this really was nice. My BFF got a turkey Reuben and really really enjoyed it. It was beautiful seeing all those layers of turkey meat. For dessert, I enjoyed a plain slice of cheesecake, which was really delicious. This is the best spot for authentic New York Cheesecake. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. We just showed up. We didn't have any sort of reservation reservations. It had a nice diner vibe. Stopped in for desert after the Sirius XM concert. The decorum was beautiful. It was beautifully coordinated in red and brown. There's a lot of seating and very spacious. The service was pleasant and our waitress was kind even though we only stopped in for desert. I had the raspberry swirl cheesecake. I wasn't too fond of this cheesecake because of the top layer. It wasn't soft, it was more on the corse side feeling like plastic. The strawberry cheesecake was the highlight of the evening, it was so tasty that I took a slice to go. It was soft, moist, and that sultry taste and the presentation was all of that, and more. Absolutely delicious! My plus one didn't like the cream icing because it was too much.
