Fun late-night stop in Times Square! At the request of my teen, we went to Serendipity3 on a Thursday after a 7pm show, and I'm really glad I made a Resy reservation a few days ahead as other post-show walk-ins were being turned away. We had a 7 PM Broadway show, so booking for 10:15 PM gave us plenty of time to navigate the Times Square chaos and even pop into a few stores before our Serendipity reservation. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the Frozen Hot Chocolate was exactly what we came for huge, over-priced and perfect for sharing. I ordered loaded fries to balance out the sweet. The Times Square location is at 157 W 47th St, between 6th & 7th Avenues, convenient to several subway stations. One thing to know: the restrooms are shared with a hotel so the host will give you a key to access the restroom found in the adjacent hotel lobby. Tip: Make a Resy reservation ahead of time, especially for evening visits. It made the whole experience much easier! read more

Celebrated my Goddaughter's 7th bday. This was where she wanted to go. We were greeted in a friendly manner and the host instantly engaged all three kids. Seated right away. The decor catches your eye. Really good spot for kids. Waitress was friendly and got our order right away. I also loved that she introduced her covering waiter when she had to take a break. 3.5 stars. Requested booth seating weeks ahead in our booking form to celebrate my son's birthday but still were assigned to a standard table even though we saw several open booth seats. I planned on dining at Serendipity during my NY trip so it was serendipitous that Serendipity 3 was right next door to my hotel. LOL!!! This place is huge with a huge menu to match. There are "regular" items, but they also have some very fun and interesting dishes, including a Guinness World Record section on the menu. This section includes a $1000 sundae, $214 grilled cheese sandwich, $100 milkshake, World's Most Expensive Fries at $200, etc. I did not order from this section and instead ordered the Classic Footlong Hotdog, Classic Wedge Salad, Sunday Chicken Dinner, Not Yo' Ordinary Nachos, Mac & Cheese, Thai Peanut Salad, and of course their famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. The food in general is good. Not great, not bad, but solidly on the middle ground. Of all the dishes, the Not Yo' Ordinary Nachos was the most disappointing. I agree that it was not ordinary in that it had less than ordinary nachos. REALLY disappointing. All the other dishes I ordered were good, but not anything that really stands out. A lot of the dishes have fun names and are a bit gimmick-y, but it goes along with the restaurant's theme. The restaurant is brightly lit, decorated with every color possible, plenty of unique artwork, whimsical, and just plain fun. For example, the Sunday Chicken Dinner came in an huge sundae glass, with everything piled together, in that one cup. The presentation was fun, but it was difficult and very messy to eat. The portions are good, but the prices are high. The male at the hostess stand was not friendly at all and rather arrogant, but my servers were all great. What a unique and fun dessert place! It also serves meals and appetizers for those who want savory food. This was a convenient place and location for a snack after a Broadway show. I gathered here to reunite with some old friends. The ice cream sundaes are HUGE. The sundaes taste how they are advertised, so you can't go wrong with whichever one you choose and like. They are probably known for their dessert menu. We also got the Ferris wheel of appetizers, which were delicious, unique, and picture worthy. The slight con is that the Ferris wheel doesn't move. The ambience is very colorful and highlighter - bright. The service was good. They filled our waters and let us know that the very expensive items on the menu have to be reserved in advance, so they can order the expensive ingredients. Came to Serendipity 3 purely for the nostalgia -- my friend and I had to check off the bucket-list spot from the movie Serendipity (the one with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale). Mission accomplished on that front: the place is every bit as quirky, colorful, and over-the-top cute as you'd hope. Tiffany lamps, random knick-knacks everywhere, pure rom-com energy. We split the famous Frozen Hot Chocolate because... when in Rome, right? Honestly, it was a letdown. Tasted like someone dumped an entire shaker of cinnamon into chocolate syrup and called it a day. Overwhelming spice, oddly gritty texture, and way too sweet even for dessert lovers. At $20+ for basically a fancy milkshake we didn't finish, it felt like we paid for the photo op more than the drink. If you're here for the vibe, the people-watching, and the "I did it for the movie" selfie, it's worth a visit once. Just maybe order something else (or skip the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate altogether). When we asked if the coconut one came with coconut shavings, they just said "I don't know". I had to really press and ask if we could get another employee before Dani finally looked it up on the tablet and confirmed the ingredients. Then, Xio brought out the two drinks. One was dairy and one was non dairy and Xio seemed confused about which was which. When we tried to clarify which was which, Xio was rude and said "I'm aware. I'm aware". On a trip to NYC for my daughter's 13th birthday we went to Serendipity3 for the World Famous Frozen Hot Chocolate. We had a reservation at the Times Square location. We were going just for dessert and decided to order the Truffle Parmesan Fries too. The restaurant is very bright and has lots of bold colors. There is a disco ball ceiling in the main dining room, which is fun. To get to the main dining room you walk down a hall way that has small intimate booths on the left and the right. I wish we had one of those booths, our experience might have been a lot different. We were sat in the main dining room at the very end of a long booth. It felt like they added a small table where it didn't belong. My daughter sat in the booth and I was in the chair across from her. My chair was clearly in the way of the servers getting to the other tables. I was constantly getting bumped. It was raining outside so I had a rain jacket on my chair that must have fallen off at least 5 times. The main dining room is also very loud. I think it was a combination of the acoustics in the room and it being very busy but it was hard to have a conversation. It was also very hot. A lady came around taking pictures and tired to get you to buy them as a souvenir. I get it, it's New York, Time Square location, it's a tourist place...but don't act annoyed when we say no. We came for a birthday dessert and don't want to be shamed because we didn't buy a photograph. That bugged me that the lady acted frustrated with us. Thankful the Frozen Hot Chocolate was fun. We went with the original, but they do have 13 different flavors of the Frozen Hot Chocolate and tons of other desserts. The Truffle Parm Fries came out slightly burnt, but they still tasted okay. My daughter was dipping them into the frozen hot chocolate which made her happy and that's all the mattered. Like I mentioned above had we dinned in one of the private small 2 top booths in the hallway I bet our experience would have been better. Three stars - Okay After dinner, we went to Serendipity 3. The restaurant is in a great location, close to Times Square, and it is open late. My favorite part of the restaurant is the decor. It is an explosion of color and designs, making it a unique experience. Our server was friendly. There are a lot of options on the menu, but we stuck with the ice cream. It was okay, but there could be other great options on the menu that we did not try. They do have a variety of flavors. Again, I think the primary appeal of this restaurant is the location and the decor. I don't know if I would go out of my way to eat here again if I were in NYC, though. read more

Being a lover of everything sweet. After dinner, we decided to get some ice cream and conveniently found serendipity located in Time Square. When you walk in the door, is kind of hard to get into. There's a full service bar, which is nice there. Randy is primarily hot dog, Buyers, chicken, wings, etc.. But we went for the desserts, and let me tell you. They were absolutely delicious. The ice cream was perfectly blended. I don't know where they get it from, but it is really good. What really set this restaurant apart? Besides, it being absolutely beautiful. On the inside. This is my new favorite restaurant. It's so girly and just so pretty on the inside but the food and drinks are incredible. The music is also a vibe. I got a unicorn hot chocolate and it's the best hot chocolate I've ever had! It even had marshmallows and glitter on it. We decided to try this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation which is not recommended unless you have small party and can afford to wait a bit. The restaurant is cute with fun chandeliers and art on the walls. We asked the servers for food recommendations and the truffle burger was their favorite. The burger was nicely cooked and had a nice helping of truffle shavings on top. We also ordered the Monet salad with chicken, it was nicely prepared and left us very satisfied. The kids grilled cheese was very cheesy and got a thumbs up from our kid. To finish out the meal we ordered the Unicorn Bliss sundae, which is a very festive dessert that left other patrons admiring from afar. It was impossible to finish but was a fun dessert to try. People were very nice, but the food? Nope. Everything in Times Square is expensive so obviously the sticker shock will hit you, but you came to the busiest spot in NYC so that's a given. That said, was thinking my $28 burger would be good. It was not. I ordered the veggie burger and it was a Costco black bean patty and the bun appeared to be gluten free? So dry and gross, I removed the whole thing. Fries were fine, not amazing. Kids Mac and cheese was fine. Pizza burger was also mediocre. The best thing we ordered was the chicken sundae. It took forever and came out 10 minutes after the rest of our food and while they apologized, they didn't even throw us a free scoop of ice cream or anything. Not delicious but we did leave full. Food was so underwhelming we didn't even bother with $30 desserts. Just paid our $100 check and left (no drinks. 3 adult entrees and a kid meal and 4 waters). If you can avoid it, ask to sit anywhere other than the back of the restaurant. It was super loud. When I walked back to the front, those booths and the front spots were sooo calm. The VIBE and the very fact that it is so nostalgic! If you are a rom-com buff like me and your spouse isnt, still take him here!! I control myself on sweet cravings but this time, I made an exception just for this place. Unfortunately they have hot chocolate only seasonal, so given it was not winter, I couldn't have it. But I was glad so GLAD they had the apple pie. I was told it the "smallest dessert" on the menu. Boy, was I glad to have ordered that as I was the only one relishing it!
