We live in the Bywater and we were wanting to visit again since the grand-opening after receiving an email about your Steak Night. We felt embarrassed after receiving our bill to question it but we were not given a receipt & it seemed higher than expected. The email I received said that their ribeye steak was $30.00 (we were charged $36.) The email also said a free signature cocktail with an entree. We were told upon questioning the bill that it's one free cocktail per email. The email does not state that. It was not made clear (because we didn't get a print out of our bill) that it included a 18% gratuity. I typically tip 20% so that's not a problem but I added the tip as I normally would onto of the 18%. Our primary waitress yawned and likely would have preferred not waiting on us. My husband, toddler, and I stopped by this place during our New Orleans stay over the weekend in June. The food here was sooooo good! I thought I didn't like lamb chops, but I took a risk and just ordered some due to just being on vacation, AND THE LAMB CHOPS WERE DELICIOUS ! Flavorful and nice and juicy. Also, my husband loved his meal. I believe he had got Catfish. The beignets were super delicious. They were actually the best beignets we had the whole trip. Our server Kourtnie was really nice and helpful. She checked in on us very often and made sure that we were comfortable. It is best to make a reservation for this place. We didn't know that at first, but they did have availability for us to sit outside. Even though most people expect our party and 1 other person sat outside; I never felt forgotten about from our server. There was covering over our heads, so the sun was not hitting us, but it was still very hot due to the humidity and hot winds. I patronised this Black Owned business for the first time on Juneteenth 24'. The drinks that were made from the single bartender behind the bar for the restaurant full of patrons was amazing. The staff especially Tee, our server were all plesant, knowledgeable, and made us feel at home. Parking was a mess as it is the Bywater, but if you can overcome that this is the place to be. Me and my bestie decided to try the long awaited JusTini's on June 2nd. I have been anxiously awaiting this experience because her cocktails are TOP Notch. While it is killing me not to give a 5-star review, I cannot honestly do that without sharing my experience. Please note, I have every intention of giving JusTini's a second chance, especially since I've been seeing so many positive reviews after my visit. I want to do things a bit different this time and I will stat with my list on cons before getting into the pros of my visit. Cons: Horrible parking - now, please note, this restaurant is in the Bywater, so the parking is going to be a pain regardless. We went in for happy hour which ended at 6, we got there a little after 4:30pm, but by the time we found parking and waited to be seated (another debacle), it was almost the end of happy hour - which meant, we had to order all of our stuff at once if we wanted to partake in the happy hour specials. When we finally park, we check in with the hostess and that was an EPIC fail. When we got there, there were two groups ahead of us (2 women and a group of 3 women) or so we thought. We go to check in and we are under the impression that she is going to write our names down or at least take a number to text us when our table is ready, but she did no such thing. She literally told us, "I'll remember where yall are in line." I had to laugh at this because I had NEVER seen or heard something like this before. There was no system as far as seating. No reservations - and by now y'all know how I feel about a reservation. Seating is first come/first serve. So we asked if we would be able to pop inside and grab a drink at the bar while we wait since it was hot outside and she told us "oh, that's not how we do that." Again, never been to a restaurant with a bar that didn't allow this, but at this point, it was whatever. So, as we are waiting, one of the ladies in the other group (the party of 2) went to check in to see if they were any closer to being sat, since 4 people had left while we were all waiting. It was at that moment, we heard the hostess say, "well, we have ANOTHER party of 4 waiting to be sat inside, so once we seat them, we will be able to get y'all sat." Y'all, imagine our confusion when she said that because unbeknownst to us, there was a whole party of four sitting at a table in the courtyard EATING AND DRINKING WHILE WAITING TO BE SAT INSIDE!!!! I was honest pissed at that point and we probably should have left, but against my better judgement, we stayed because I really wanted to support a fellow Maryite on her business venture. When the hostess said that for all of us waiting, we were all genuinely curious as to how we were told we couldn't order a drink form inside the bar, but these people were allowed to SIT and OCCUPY a table while they ATE and DRANK all while waiting for a table INSIDE. A month later and this still baffles me. A little more time passes and there is a table for 2 that opens up in the courtyard and my friend and I take it because we were tired of waiting and the other ladies were adamant about sitting inside. Once we sat down, no server came to greet us nor did they give us water. We had to ask for water and bev napkins once we flagged somebody down then later found out that the TAP water had to be ordered online. They also told us that we had to place our order via the QR code that was at the table. My phone had been giving me issues that entire day, so I wanted to hop on WiFi to see if I could seamlessly place my order. I asked one of the girls there what the WiFi password was and she said the password was "Justin is Guest." Cool, but when you try to pull up the WiFi, there are 5 different JusTini networks that come up and guess what? the password didn't work for ANY OF THEM. So word to the wise, if you need to order your food and drinks via WiFi, good luck. When we finally placed the order it was almost 6pm so again and we ended up getting the blueberry lemon drop, hello Barbara sangria, regular lemon drop and the seafood tacos - the food and drinks took about 30 minutes to come out. The drinks came out first and so much time had passed with the food, I honestly forget that I even placed an order - tragic. Even paying was a hassle because there were so many glitches with the QR code and trying to pay. Yall, I had to manually enter my CC information into an already glitchy system and there is an mandatory 18% despite the fact that the service literally sucked from start to finish. Now I usually don't have an issue with tipping 18-20%, but in this case, what the heck was done to even warrant 18%??? Now that we got the not so good stuff out of the way, let's talk about the pros, which aren't that many, unfortunately. I really wanted to love this place -- but it was such a disappointment -- we sat for close to 45 mins is a barely crowded restaurant and the ladies two tables over who had been waiting almost an hour asked if we had been helped and us, them nor the table next to us had been serviced. We couldn't even find a server to get them to take a order and the bartender was clearly busy. We finally got serviced and our drinks came about 15mins later, but my friends drink was completely wrong. She then waited ANOTHER almost 20mins to get her drink and we had to flag down a HOSTESS to ask her to figure out what was going on. The drink then came immediately. I would have loved to have order more drinks and food, but please just imagine how long until someone took to come to our table. Almost another 45 mins as we watched them go to other tables and bounce before we could even grab someone's attention. We had to go find someone again to even just close out. They have an automatic 18% gratuity on your bill and it's highly disappointing because my service was below subpar. This restaurant has only been open for maybe a week. I'll start off by saying if you're going have patience and give grace. Everyone in the restaurant was working pretty hard and not just standing around. I was seated in the bar area which was great. It was happy hour and jumping. There's music, some dancing, singing and laughing going on all around me. The perfect way to kick off the weekend. I scanned the QR code and ordered seafood tacos, truffle fries, beignet sticks and the "Mr. Happy Hour Cocktail of the day". I don't know what the cocktail was but it was great. In fact everything I ordered was fantastic. The beignet sticks actually arrived first and I devoured them. I may start eating desserts first. Having the sweet before the savory seemed to jumpstart my taste buds. I must confess. This restaurant has the best tacos and truffle fries I've ever tasted! I typically don't write reviews like this, but my recent visit to JusTini's for a Galentine's dinner was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share my experience. This was my second time dining at JusTini's, and unfortunately, it was the complete opposite of my first, positive visit. I made a reservation for 10:15 PM, and prior to arriving, a member of my party called to confirm. During that call, the hostess informed us that there was a leak in the restaurant and that our reservation had been canceled. We were essentially told not to come. However, at the exact same time, another member of my party--who had already arrived--was seated at our table without any mention of a leak or cancellation. This was the first sign of disorganization and poor communication. When I originally booked our reservation a week prior, I selected standard seating. However, upon arrival, we were told we had to sit outside due to a private party being held in the main dining area. No one in our party was informed of this change beforehand, and given the situation with the supposed "leak," this raised even more questions. If there was a leak severe enough to cancel reservations, how was a private party still happening inside? Moving on to service--it was unacceptable. We ordered drinks, and while one guest received theirs in a timely manner, the rest of us waited 20-30 minutes. That was just the beginning. When placing our food order, we specifically told the server that we wanted to order dessert after our meal. When our food arrived, we reminded her, to which she responded, "I'm not sure they will be able to do that." We then had to remind her that we had already mentioned desserts when we ordered. Only then did she put in the request. Another guest at our table also wanted to order a dessert but was told they couldn't because they had not mentioned it earlier. They were also told that the grease had already been turned off. This left us confused--why weren't we informed of a last call for food? It became clear that the restaurant staff was prioritizing the private party, and our service suffered because of it. At this point, one of our guests asked the server if it was standard for JusTini's to require all orders--drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts--to be placed at the same time. Instead of a professional response, the server spoke to us in a rather dismissive tone, explaining the restaurant's customs as if we were unfamiliar with how dining works. No one had informed us that last call was approaching, nor were we given any direction about how orders should be placed. Then came the final straw--the message was conveyed to us as if a favor was done for us by allowing us to keep our reservation that we had booked a week prior. The server explained that, technically, due to the leak, they weren't supposed to accommodate us. However, we had already checked in, so they didn't want to turn us away. Again, if the restaurant was truly unable to serve guests due to a leak, why was the private party still in full swing? To top it all off, our desserts arrived in to-go boxes with plastic utensils--a clear sign that we were being rushed out. At this point, it was obvious that our reservation should have just been canceled rather than allowing us to come and experience poor service, lack of communication, and being treated as an afterthought. I want to be clear that I'm not solely blaming the server for this experience, but the situation should have been handled much better. Clear communication and better coordination from the staff as a whole could have made a big difference Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing. From the inconsistencies with the leak situation, to the lack of proper communication, to the rushed and lackluster service, this visit was nothing like my first time at JusTini's. It's unfortunate because I had previously enjoyed dining here, I was truly taken aback about how poorly everything was handled. If the restaurant was truly unable to accommodate guests, it would have been better to be upfront about it rather than providing subpar service and making guests feel unwelcome. read more

TLDR: JusTini's is fantastic, but do not walk there after dark. I spent an extended weekend in NO and a friend and I wanted to go out for a good dinner after a looong day of walking around exploring the city. I found JusTini's from IG and thought the food and drinks looked great. It wasn't too far from where we were staying downtown so we decided to walk. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service at JusTini's were all excellent. We weren't able to make a same day reservation and upon arrival, we could see why. The place is very small. There is a semi-private table for a medium sized group, then about five 2-seater tables and one tall 2-seater in the main dining room. There is also bar seating and a tall communal table in that room. Outside, they also have several tables, but it was too cold for that. Nevertheless, the hostess found a way to get us seated quickly at a regular table in between some reservations. We ended up being there during happy hour and ordered off both the happy hour and regular menu. I loved the salmon tacos. My friend loved the seafood tacos. The wings were full wings, not wing dings and the sauce was ! We had 2 drinks each - 1 from the HH menu and 1 from the regular menu and all of them were delicious. What I will say is although the restaurant was a walkable distance, we SHOULD NOT HAVE WALKED. The place where JusTini's is located is fine, but to get there we had to walk through some places where we should not have been walking, especially after dark. The Lyft back to the downtown area was like $8 so just get a ride! Next time I'm in NOLA, I'll be going back to JusTini's. read more
