We have been ordering here for many years for large parties, if I could leave 0 stars I would but for the sake of Yelp it wouldn't let me. We ordered again once today even after they have previously messed up and have made our orders late or "forgot" about them. We ordered 50 naans for 1pm and we showed up to pick up the naans and the owner said he "forgot" and thought we said 5pm. We live in Elk Grove and had to drive all the way to west sac, with these gas prices. It was a major inconvenience! I called and the owner transferred the call to someone else, and could not help with the issue he caused upon himself. I really like the food at Kabab Corner. It's very flavorful and savory. The service is alright but I mean it's a buffet, so it's not like you expect to be waited on. The ambiance is a little strange. I don't blame the ownership because I think it mostly has to do with a language barrier and some cultural differences. I tried to complement the owner on the food and make some simple conversation and I could tell that the prospect of having a conversation with me made the owners extremely uncomfortable. My new favorite restaurant. They have an actual buffer lunch! That has become an endangered species in the past two years. The staff is very health safety conscious (plastic gloves are used by all customers ) and everything seems well managed. The buffet entrees are a selection of my favorites and the naan is made fresh to order (and there's plenty of it). The chicken entrees are particularly well spiced. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I hope they can keep offering the buffet. Eating out will never be cheap again, but at least a buffet allows you to enjoy as much of the dishes you enjoy as you wish. read more

I walked in and was greeted by the hostess to sit at any table for the buffet. I was disappointed when I got to the buffet. The selection of food was not compared to other Indian buffet restaurants that I have been to. The white rice was cold and some of the curry dishes were barely filled. They also served Chinese food and there was a chow mein and orange chicken entree which I did not enjoy. Overall, I tried this place out and gave it a chance. The food was not fresh and I was not impressed with the cold rice. There was one family there for dinner so it was relatively quite. The customer service was really good. I started off wth a little bit of everything on my plate. Biryani was one of my favorite things there. The garlic naan was warm and fresh however the flavoring of the food wasn't my favorite. It was good for a buffet and to satisfy my cravings. The amount of food for the price was very good. However, it definitely wouldn't be a first choice. Ambience was a little old, worn down furniture which I don't mind. They offered a punch/stamp card so that you would get a free buffet when you have eaten there a certain amount of times. They are Muslim: No problem, my best friend in Algeria is also Muslim, including 70% of my Facebook friends. I have had good experiences here until I showed the owner a photo of me during a past Ramadan. I joined in Ramadan to support a friend who's daughter was fasting for her first time and her mother was not around to support her. I told her I would fast for my first time too, if she fasted. This meant I am a Buddhist guy, going to a Mosque, fasting, etc. FYI so the rest of the story later will make more sense: The penalty for apostasy (changing your religion) in Islam, is death. I believe the owner misunderstood me to have converted from Islam to Buddhism because ever since I showed him that photo (I was wearing a 'Muslim hat' called a kufi) I have had very bad service from this place. Remember that punch/stamp card I told you about? They would not honor it when it was full. "Oh, next time!" but why? The entire card is full of stamps from each time I had eaten there in the past. A next time came, they did not honor it, saying the person who is able to ring that into the register was not present. The owner was there. If the owner cannot ring this into the register, who in the world can? During this next time, both of us only opted for water to drink. We told this to the girl who was running my credit (or debit) card for payment. The owner said something to her (probably in Urdu since Urdu is written on the walls) , she said something back , he replied and pointed to our table and then smiled at me. He told her to walk over to our tables to check our drink glasses to make sure we were not actually served soda. So I'm like "WTF"? Do you know how many times you have to eat there to fill up a punch card? From memory it was 8-12 different times. I felt this was very rude and I decided not to eat here ever again. read more

I was in a search for a place to have a late lunch in West Sacramento. I used Yelp and found this place which served a lunch buffet $8.99 until 4PM on the weekends. So off I went. It was 2:50PM and there were only two other diners in the restaurant when I walked in. I took a look at the buffet items, there were about 7 hot entrees (two were rice), 2 dessert items, and several cold "salad type" sides. The restaurant interior is simple and a bit outdated, but clean. It's a bit of a hole in the wall in a non descript strip mall. But what a pleasant surprise of tasty Pakistani food. Anyhow, I ate a bit of all the hot entrees. The entrees are kept warm in chaffing dishes heated by a sterno. Each different dish had it's own flavors meaning they didn't all taste the same, which can happen at a buffet. I enjoyed ALL the dishes. My favorites were the chicken tandoori (it was moist with a good grilled exterior), chicken tikka masala (flavorful with pieces of cubed chicken), and the plain naan. The plain naan is crispy wafer like served piping hot with a touch of butter brushed on it. The place is family run and the owner is quite a nice fellow that is willing to engage in conversations with customers. He has a quiet demeanor about him. As other Yelpers mentioned, the food in the chaffing dishes were very limited in quantity. But as folks come in, the dishes are re-filled. Extra star for very good prices and not overly spicy dinner plate at Kabob Corner. I came in on a Friday evening to a mostly empty restaurant, but the main server (owner?) was there to greet me. The interactions were a little confusing due to a language barrier, but I had seen their dinner plate and other menu items online. Decor is relaxing with booths all around and some tables in the middle. They had a buffet available with lots of different dishes and sides. Nice music played as well as a TV in the back. I had a 7 dollar dinner plate that came with: a meat/veggie patty that was nicely browned on both sides and filling fluffy rice and naan quality chicken in a mild sauce another side that I can't remember I was pretty happy with my meal and ended up with leftovers. I can be spice sensitive but this had just the right amount, more flavor than anything that hurts your mouth. I have been here several times. only Pakistani food restaurant in West Sacramento. Their combo (Chicken/Beef) plate is a good value for the money. Lunch buffet is reasonably priced and quality is average. Not the best food in town but it's pretty average. Customer service is very good. One time they were closed due to a party was going on. They should have some place for their customer to sit while parties go on so regular customers don't have to drive all the way and go back for nothing. It was my bf and I first time there last night! I have good and bad things to say about this place. Positive- the tandoori and chicken curry were perfectly cooked. For this reason alone I will return. The garlic naan was my other fav. Service and price were good! $9.99 for buffet dinner. Negative- there wasn't much to get. We had to wait for the food to be refilled. Every time the cook refilled the pot, she puts out 4 pieces of tandoori and a few pieces of chicken. I noticed Kabab Corner as I was filling up at the next-door Chevron station and decided to give them a go for dinner partially because I noticed their $9.99 dinner buffet sign. What I got was a plate of "meh" with a side of discomfort. The paltry buffet had a limited selection of some Indian restaurant staples such as rice, chicken tikka-masala, goat curry, and so on. I had the tikka, rice, daal, and garlic naan. The tikka was watery and not so tasty. There were parts of the chicken I couldn't even chew. The rice was alright and the daal was actually very good. The naan, however, was pretty bad and might have even been something store-bought and re-heated. As for the discomfort, for much of my dinnertime meal I was the only patron. The place was eerily quiet and I felt almost like i wasn't even supposed to be there. The man behind the counter, however, was pleasant and did want to make sure I enjoyed my meal. Gravy was too sweet like scoops of sugar were thrown inside that. Egg fried rice egg was sweet and wasn't done well. All in all a horrible experience and probably won't be going back there again. I went to the dinner buffet with my family and friends. This place is a small family run business that is mainly run by all females. The food was delicious. Lots of variety and authentic taste. I tried goat karahi, Biryani, Chicken tandoori, nihari, chowmein, and naan bread to name a few. Everything was fresh and tasty. I especially liked the level of spice. It was tasty and flavorful but not over the top spicy. I forgot to order garlic naans, and went with the plain naans. Everyone was ordering garlic naans so it must be good. This restaurant is located in a working class area with a lot of working class clientele. The ambiance of the restaurant is reflective of that. The space itself is a bit weird but all of this can be overlooked. You are not going to a Gordon Ramsay's restaurant...so ambiance shouldn't matter that much. What should matter is food, and food delivers. The service is very good as well. The ladies running this place are courteous and cultured.
