Needed to change it up from my usual Las Vegas haunts, so I came to Kabuto to try their $185 Kabuto Course menu. I can safely say this omakase experience was up there with some of the omakases I've had. After having Chawamushi and Yakimono Alpine King Salmon as appetizers, we dug into the premium nigiri selection. Not the most creative omakase I've had, but damn the fish was great quality and also extremely huge cuts. You can tell the effort that was put into the nigiri to maximize the flavor of each fish. Plus they offered us to choose anything on the menu to add on as extra nigiri orders. Never had Buri-toro (King Yellowtail Belly) or Jabara-toro (Bellows Belly) before, but damn these were some NICE cuts. At $185, this is more than worth it and then some. Service here was fantastic as to be expected. They introduced every dish, and they even indulged me so that I could correctly write down every item served. Plus we had a good conversation with the sushi chef as well. Ambience in here is nice. Very nicely lit, very spaced out. Obviously we sat at the counter due to the omakase, but it was very spacious there as well. Definitely had a great experience here. I would not be surprised if they found themselves on the revived Michelin Guide when it comes out in August.

Went with the $130 set menu and then added on 3 pieces at the end. The service was quite good and well timed without much wasted time which was very nice. The fish quality however could be a little higher and also each piece of sushi, particularly for the nigiri didn't have it's own flavoring or seasoning. So it made each piece seem bland when the fish quality was fairly fresh. However, I will say it's probably pretty good for vegas off the strip, but it certainly will not compare to other sushi places in NY or LA. It was nice that they did have some pieces of nigiri that are less often available like torched tuna belly which was almost falling apart from being fatty. I think the price to quality ratio is not worth it compared to other sushi spots in the country.

A can't miss if you seek a high end Omakase. Reservations are accepted up to one month in advance by phone and Resy only. This was a superb Omakase and we went for it all with the 8 course Premium Chef Omakase called the "Kabuto Course." Everything is presented with friendly precision. The servings are generous and delicious. All the fish was fresh. The assortment of tuna included THE best variety of toro(s) I have ever tasted. Bring your appetite for a totally indulgent experience. One note is that, unlike other omakase places, Kabuto is inappropriately loud. Also, the decor is basic and if you are seated at a table for four, two of you will be facing a blank wall. Pro tip--try to get a seat at the counter.

Outright refusal to accommodate for gluten allergies

I booked a meal here while I was on vacation assuming this place would be nice and accommodating especially with the amount of money they're charging for an omakase. Upon confirming today, as well as the initial reservation, they text me refusing to accommodate my gluten allergy. I am well aware that soy sauce is used in most Asian food. I am also well aware that there are restaurants that are accommodating to allergies, including gluten. I am absolutely appalled that they didn't even bother to try and work anything out with advanced notice or have anything in place for people with gluten allergies. I didn't ask to develop a gluten allergy, nor should I be punished for it.

Our first time at Kabuto was to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary. This would have been a 5-star review back then because the chef-to-guest experience was outstanding. We enjoyed it so much (especially the jabara-toro) that we decided to bring the whole family here on our next Vegas trip. My husband (John L) had the best reasons to go last December - his birthday and Christmas! Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment compared to our first visit. Since it was the holiday season, we had to pay a higher price per person. It was advertised as better than their regular Kabuto Course (Premium Chef Omakase). Our party of 5 occupied one side of the counter. The ambience was great and the servers were very attentive. Other than the "Holiday Special" printed on the menu, everything looked the same as the Premium Omakase offering - appetizer, warm dish, sashimi, seasonal grill, nigiri premium selection, hand roll, soup, and dessert. The nigiri selection was superb highlighted by the akamutsu, ezo-bafun uni, kinme-tai, and botan-ebi. However, there was one glaring difference between this visit and the first one - we did not get the jabara-toro as our last nigiri. We got the otoro which was also delicious, but we hyped the jabara-toro so much for our two daughters and our would-be son-in-law that the excitement went so far down the drain when we did not get it. To save the night, we had to order a round of jabara-toro for everyone. Comparing this with our phenomenal first-time visit, I could say we paid much more for less. I understand that "omakase" is chef's choice, but our chef should have picked the finest cut of the belly. The menu says "Holiday Special" after all.

Found this spot while searching for an omakase spot as my friend mentioned she was craving one while we were on a vacation in Las Vegas. We did the $175/pp Kabuto option which was 8-courses incl. seasonal grill and 12 pcs. of Nigiri. The two of us arrived shortly before 8PM and we were seated in a four person table both facing the bar. The restaurant was very open and luckily not echoey as conversation between parties started ramping up. We were worried the experience would be lessened by the fact we got a table and that was not the case. Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes being brought to us course by course and even recommended we get light rice and adjusting it as needed while my friend got full near the end. Everything was of a wide variety and tasted fresh. The highlight had to have been the chawanmushi which was well cooked and packed with ingredients. The seasonal grill, a miso sea bass did seem slightly dryer than others I've had, it was the only thing I felt was lacking. Highly recommend if you're in the area, I felt the pricing was very reasonable for the experience provided compared to similar restaurants in Southern California that I've been to. This one especially a good option for people trying to use the quarterly Platinum Resy benefit as it is listed on the Resy list.

My colleagues and I were looking to grab some sushi for dinner one night while we were in Vegas for a conference. After searching Yelp, Kabuto came up - and the combination of high reviews and great pictures pretty much sealed the deal. That being said, we headed over to check it out. Kabuto is located in a small strip mall - the entrance is unassuming and the interior has a relatively simple setup. The dining area is small - outside of the sushi bar that has about 10 chairs, there are only three other tables. The decor was minimal - there were a couple of accents on the wall but outside of that it was pretty plain. Kabuto offers an omakase prix fixe menu with two choices/price points. We decided to go with the lower-priced option which came with eight courses; after sitting we ordered some sake and then the courses started. They did a good job presenting a variety of dishes - lots of different seafood which were described as each course was served. Everything tasted fresh, with the biggest standouts for me being the fluke served in a brow sauce and the green tea dessert. Service was great - the courses came out at a good pace and everyone was super friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Kabuto - while nothing really blew me away, the quality was there and we had a good meal. I would probably opt for other sushi spots next time I'm in Vegas, but it's definitely worth checking out.

My experience at Kabuto was incredible. I'm so glad I was able to get a last minute reservation here. From the moment you enter the restaurant, the service is impeccable. All our needs were anticipated, which contributed to a very comfortable and enjoyable dinner. We opted for the $120 omakase menu and planned to just order additional nigiri a la carte if we were still hungry; however, it ended up being the perfect amount! The fish was all extremely fresh and the portion sizes are very fair/satisfactory. Reservation is needed. Bar seating is preferred for the full experience! I can't wait to come back here the next time I'm in Vegas.

We went to Kabuto in Jan 2026 and what an excellent omakase experience! Friendly staff, great ambiance and outstanding value for the price. They offer two sets of menu - $130 and $185, as far as I am aware, the higher one comes with an additional grill course and a few items will be upgraded to a premium selection. We both opted for the $130 menu, it was definitely worth it and we were stuffed. The appetizer, warm dish and sashimi were a good start and they were all delicious, especially the cold smoked salmon with yuzu and the finest scallops. The nigiris came with 8 pieces followed by a negitoro hand roll. All pieces were stunning and in good quality. The one that really blew me away was the ikura and uni. They were extremely fresh and probably it was the best uni I had in a while. I also liked the chu-toro which was fatty, delicious and decadent. We appreciated our chef, Matsu San for preparing the nigiris and having every pieces explained to us when they were served. The rice in good temperature and portion, along with the excellent quality fish was something unique and satisfying. Our waitress was Bie and she is the best. Very kind and attentive, frequently topped off our water during the meal, she did everything amazing from greeting to walking us out. Overall Kabuto nicely executed the omakase experience, highly recommend this place and we plan to return in a near future.

We came to Kabuto to celebrate our anniversary and ordered the $185 omakase for two. The food was excellent--beautifully prepared, high-quality fish, and a thoughtfully paced progression of courses. Service was attentive and professional throughout. However, the overall experience felt rushed toward the end. Because the omakase is quite substantial, we naturally needed a bit more time to enjoy each course. We weren't lingering excessively, but we were told that the next reservation was arriving, which made us feel pressured to finish sooner than we would have liked. For a special-occasion dinner--especially at this price point--that sense of being hurried detracted from what would otherwise have been a wonderful experience. I understand restaurants manage tight seating schedules, but guests choosing a full omakase should be allowed a comfortable amount of time to enjoy it. With more flexible pacing or clearer expectations upfront, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

Food: 4/5 - Overall, the sushi was beyond my expectation! - There was one piece that was slightly too salty but the others were good. - It would have been better if the rice was warm as when it hit the mouth it appeared cold. -Tamago also would've been nice to be on the warm side, it was cold. -My favorite was the first appetizer dishes. The tofu was soooo good. -The mushroom soup was yummy! Service: 5/5 May was very kind. Very attentive on refilling beverages and friendly. Our chef was also so fast in preparing each piece! Ambiance: 5/5 Clean, modern. Highly recommend and would come again. This place improved since the last time we were here during Covid. As stated earlier, the experience turned out far better than our first time here! Very interesting to also see new chefs here.

The best sushi in Vegas. My friend and I came here with very high expectations, and they were somehow exceeded. The service is impressive with extreme attention to detail and timing. I love the cozy ambiance with a small Japanese sushi restaurant feel. The food is truly amazing as the fish is super high quality and the omakase hot and cold dishes are beautifully crafted. The price to quality ratio is amazing and I highly recommend.

This was my first omakase and I was very impressed by the experience. Service was great, naturally, and the food was just so good, from the freshness and variety of the sashimi and nigiri, to the creativity of the steamed egg and appetizer. We had the longer course ($175) and I added the sake pairing and they were such generous pours.

    Kabuto Reviews in Other Languages

    Ask the Community - Kabuto

If we have 4 people in the group. Can two people pick the regular omakase and the other two pick the premium?

    yes

Can I bring my own wine? What is the corkage?

My fiancé is pescatarian. I see a lot of the omakase options in Vegas have a wagyu/beef course, and I see that Kabuto allows no substitutions. Can anyone speak to a recent experience of their menu and whether or not it had beef or other meat in it?

I don't recall any meat in any of the courses. If there is one you could just eat his portion.

Wondering if we have to do omakase?

They have a separate table for à la carte orders.

We have show tickets at 7:30. If we did the 5:30 seating will we be done by 7?

Do you accept just one person too?

Will the uni sampler ever be back? I want to taste that red uni that I had 5+ years ago!

I don't recall an "uni sampler", but in my experience they have had two or three different varieties on the menu --- typically one from Santa Barbara and a couple from Japan. You have the option to add additional items ala carte before desert.

How much is corkage (Jan 2023)? What is the bottle limit? Do the chefs drink?

Corkage is $40. I'm not sure bottle limit.

Can a pregnant person eat anything here or is it only raw fish?

The restaurant only serves an Omakase style set menus. There are a mix of raw and cooked on the set, but I would say at least half of the dishes are raw. So it would be a waste to miss half the dishes. Maybe best to wait until after birth to…

How likely am I to get a reservation for 2 for dinner on a Fri night, for the 7:30 seating, compared to on a Wednesday night?

It depends on how early you plan to reserve. I had a premium omakase seating for a Friday and I booked it a a week and a half out and it had only one slot left which I took.

How many sets are there and How many dishes do you get for the sets?

About 20 seats total and they do 2 seatings per night. The $175 option came with 9 dishes (it was a lot of food).

    Do we need reservations?

    Yes. They are on RESY

Can we go with our one year old baby?

    Please don't.

Will you be open for Valentine's Day?

Looking at the pictures of the menu, it looks like you have a great variety of fish. Is it possible to request an Omakase course that consist of all nigiris on the menu?

There is a separate a-la-cart nigiri menu that you can order from when you're dining in to add to your omakase.

What's the difference between the two menus currently offered? ($120 vs $175)

Kabuto Course ($175) includes one more extra dish than Yoroi Course ($125), and the former has more high-end ingredients than the latter.

How much is the corkage fee?

    $40

I'm having a hard time making a reservation. Does anyone know how to get one through resy?

    https://resy.com/cities/las/kabuto-edomae-sushi?date=2021-06-23&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2af-BRDzARIsAIVQUOf6DZ4I97JuBqoK_7ySs5Q86kdc_zz-vggEVWheL1N5XAowQe8fUt4aAnqOEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&query=kabuto&seats=2…

Do they have all you can eat?

    No... not needed. Omekase.

    Sushi bar open now?

Yes, the sushi bar is open at 50% capacity. Please let us know if you have any questions.

I originally went back and forth between dining in or just grabbing a few onigiri, but once I got inside, I realized they also offer takeout, which ended up being perfect for me. I may have gotten a little carried away and ordered a pretty large selection of onigiri along with the premium tempura bowl -- and I have zero regrets. Chamon instantly transported me back to Japan. It has that intimate, no-frills, mom-and-pop feel with only a handful of seats inside, and that is honestly part of what makes it so special. Everything is made to order, and you can genuinely taste the care that goes into the food. The tempura was fresh and delicious, and getting to try several different onigiri made the whole experience even more fun. Beyond the food, everyone was incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. The entire place just feels authentic, cozy, and full of heart. Chamon was absolutely worth the year-long wait, and it completely lived up to the hype. I cannot recommend this little gem enough, and I will 100% be returning -- hopefully much sooner next time!

Here's a tip if you want to try their limited dishes. You gotta listen carefully! They open at noon, but you gotta be there by 11:10 AM at the latest. Once you see the welcome sign outside, go line up. It should be around 11:15 AM. People show up FAST! I don't even know where they come from, but the line forms really quickly. Someone will come outside and ask for your party size and whether you're dining in or just there to buy onigiri. My family made a reservation because they wanted to celebrate my birthday, so I was really looking forward to it. When it is your birthday, even a small detail feels a little more important. You want the night to feel special, smooth, and happy from the beginning. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there seemed to be a small issue with the reservation, and the table we were given was much smaller than expected. Since we were there as a family for a birthday dinner, it felt uncomfortable at first. I have to be honest -- my mood was not great in the beginning. It was one of those moments where you think, "Oh no, is this how the night is going to start?" But then the food started coming out, and Hachi completely turned the night around. The first thing that changed my mood was the beer. The draft beer was served in an unbelievably icy-cold mug. It was not just cold -- it looked and felt like it had come straight out of a freezer. The foam was smooth, the beer was crisp, and the first sip was so refreshing that I almost forgot I had been upset a few minutes earlier. That beer alone deserves applause. Sometimes a perfect cold beer can fix a whole mood, and this one absolutely did. The biggest highlight of the night was the tuna toro. It was incredible. The texture was so soft and delicate that it almost felt like cotton candy melting in my mouth. Rich, buttery, fresh, and so smooth. It was the kind of bite that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a second. We loved it so much that we ordered it three times. Ordering the same dish three times says everything. It was not a maybe. It was not a "let's think about it." It was a clear yes every time. The skewers were also very good. The grilled meats had a nice smoky flavor, and they were seasoned well without being too salty. They paired perfectly with the icy beer. But the shrimp skewer was especially memorable. The shrimp had that perfect bouncy, juicy texture. It was grilled nicely, still tender, and full of natural sweetness. Some grilled shrimp can become dry or forgettable, but this one had personality. Small skewer, big impact. We also enjoyed several other izakaya-style dishes. The grilled shishito peppers with bonito flakes were simple but delicious, and they helped balance out the richer dishes. The grilled squid had a great smoky flavor and a chewy texture that went so well with beer. These are exactly the kinds of dishes that make izakaya dining so fun -- one bite, one sip, one more bite, and suddenly the table is full of happy people. The sashimi platter was fresh and beautifully served over ice. There was a nice variety, including tuna, salmon, white fish, scallop, and ikura. Everything looked clean and fresh, and the presentation made it feel even more enjoyable. But honestly, the toro was the star. I will probably remember that toro for a long time. My daughter ordered tonkatsu, and that was also a huge hit. Sometimes at restaurants like this, kids' dishes can feel like an afterthought, but this tonkatsu was really good. It was crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. Seeing my daughter enjoy her food made my birthday dinner even better. As a mom, when your child eats well and is happy, the whole meal suddenly feels more peaceful. That is just the truth. Overall, Hachi started with a little frustration because of the reservation issue and the small table, but the food and drinks completely saved the night. The icy-cold beer, the amazing tuna toro, the juicy shrimp skewer, and the tonkatsu were all memorable. The food was strong enough to make us forget the rough beginning, and by the end of the meal, we were all happy. Las Vegas has so many flashy restaurants, but Hachi has that casual, comfortable izakaya charm. It is the kind of place where you order many small dishes, share with the table, drink something cold, and let the night slowly become fun. I would definitely come back next time I am in Las Vegas. Next time, I already know what I am ordering first: an icy-cold beer and tuna toro. And honestly, I may order the toro twice from the beginning, because one order is definitely not enough.

Everything we had was great. Our server "Rafael" was awesome! The restaurant was busy but Rafael checked on us (and other diners) regularly. They offer all-you-can-eat for around $35, which honestly seems like a great deal if you can put down some sushi , but we knew we wouldn't eat enough to make it worth it, so we opted to order à la carte instead. We started with the pork belly, which was actually the only thing we didn't care for, so we ended up sending that back. Everything after that, though, was SO good. The garlic spicy salted edamame was delicious and such a good way to start. We also tried several of their all-day specials--the yellowtail carpaccio, crunchy onion albacore, and seared bluefin tuna--and all three were delicious. Normally the specials are limited to one per person with AYCE, but since we were ordering à la carte, we could order however many we wanted. For rolls, I got the A Little Tease Roll and really enjoyed it. My husband got the Call 911 roll, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say he loved his too . My son kept it simple with a California roll and a cup of rice, which worked perfectly for him. We also shared a lychee nigiri, one of my favorites, and it was super yummy. The ambiance is probably one of my favorite things about this place. It's really fun and feels like somewhere you could come for a date night, but it's still completely comfortable for families. It would also be a great spot to come with a group. The surrounding area looks a little sketchy, so don't let that throw you off. Once you walk inside, it seriously feels like you've been transported somewhere completely different. The restaurant itself is really nice and has such a fun vibe. Definitely recommend checking this place out and trying some of their different sushi rolls and specials. Everything we had (minus the pork belly ) was BOMB. Next time we're in Vegas, we'll absolutely come back and try some more!
