A can't miss if you seek a high end Omakase. Reservations are accepted up to one month in advance by phone and Resy only. This was a superb Omakase and we went for it all with the 8 course Premium Chef Omakase called the "Kabuto Course." Everything is presented with friendly precision. The servings are generous and delicious. All the fish was fresh. The assortment of tuna included THE best variety of toro(s) I have ever tasted. Bring your appetite for a totally indulgent experience. One note is that, unlike other omakase places, Kabuto is inappropriately loud. Also, the decor is basic and if you are seated at a table for four, two of you will be facing a blank wall. Pro tip--try to get a seat at the counter.

Outright refusal to accommodate for gluten allergies

I booked a meal here while I was on vacation assuming this place would be nice and accommodating especially with the amount of money they're charging for an omakase. Upon confirming today, as well as the initial reservation, they text me refusing to accommodate my gluten allergy. I am well aware that soy sauce is used in most Asian food. I am also well aware that there are restaurants that are accommodating to allergies, including gluten. I am absolutely appalled that they didn't even bother to try and work anything out with advanced notice or have anything in place for people with gluten allergies. I didn't ask to develop a gluten allergy, nor should I be punished for it.

Our first time at Kabuto was to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary. This would have been a 5-star review back then because the chef-to-guest experience was outstanding. We enjoyed it so much (especially the jabara-toro) that we decided to bring the whole family here on our next Vegas trip. My husband (John L) had the best reasons to go last December - his birthday and Christmas! Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment compared to our first visit. Since it was the holiday season, we had to pay a higher price per person. It was advertised as better than their regular Kabuto Course (Premium Chef Omakase). Our party of 5 occupied one side of the counter. The ambience was great and the servers were very attentive. Other than the "Holiday Special" printed on the menu, everything looked the same as the Premium Omakase offering - appetizer, warm dish, sashimi, seasonal grill, nigiri premium selection, hand roll, soup, and dessert. The nigiri selection was superb highlighted by the akamutsu, ezo-bafun uni, kinme-tai, and botan-ebi. However, there was one glaring difference between this visit and the first one - we did not get the jabara-toro as our last nigiri. We got the otoro which was also delicious, but we hyped the jabara-toro so much for our two daughters and our would-be son-in-law that the excitement went so far down the drain when we did not get it. To save the night, we had to order a round of jabara-toro for everyone. Comparing this with our phenomenal first-time visit, I could say we paid much more for less. I understand that "omakase" is chef's choice, but our chef should have picked the finest cut of the belly. The menu says "Holiday Special" after all.

We went to Kabuto in Jan 2026 and what an excellent omakase experience! Friendly staff, great ambiance and outstanding value for the price. They offer two sets of menu - $130 and $185, as far as I am aware, the higher one comes with an additional grill course and a few items will be upgraded to a premium selection. We both opted for the $130 menu, it was definitely worth it and we were stuffed. The appetizer, warm dish and sashimi were a good start and they were all delicious, especially the cold smoked salmon with yuzu and the finest scallops. The nigiris came with 8 pieces followed by a negitoro hand roll. All pieces were stunning and in good quality. The one that really blew me away was the ikura and uni. They were extremely fresh and probably it was the best uni I had in a while. I also liked the chu-toro which was fatty, delicious and decadent. We appreciated our chef, Matsu San for preparing the nigiris and having every pieces explained to us when they were served. The rice in good temperature and portion, along with the excellent quality fish was something unique and satisfying. Our waitress was Bie and she is the best. Very kind and attentive, frequently topped off our water during the meal, she did everything amazing from greeting to walking us out. Overall Kabuto nicely executed the omakase experience, highly recommend this place and we plan to return in a near future.

Found this spot while searching for an omakase spot as my friend mentioned she was craving one while we were on a vacation in Las Vegas. We did the $175/pp Kabuto option which was 8-courses incl. seasonal grill and 12 pcs. of Nigiri. The two of us arrived shortly before 8PM and we were seated in a four person table both facing the bar. The restaurant was very open and luckily not echoey as conversation between parties started ramping up. We were worried the experience would be lessened by the fact we got a table and that was not the case. Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes being brought to us course by course and even recommended we get light rice and adjusting it as needed while my friend got full near the end. Everything was of a wide variety and tasted fresh. The highlight had to have been the chawanmushi which was well cooked and packed with ingredients. The seasonal grill, a miso sea bass did seem slightly dryer than others I've had, it was the only thing I felt was lacking. Highly recommend if you're in the area, I felt the pricing was very reasonable for the experience provided compared to similar restaurants in Southern California that I've been to. This one especially a good option for people trying to use the quarterly Platinum Resy benefit as it is listed on the Resy list.

We came to Kabuto to celebrate our anniversary and ordered the $185 omakase for two. The food was excellent--beautifully prepared, high-quality fish, and a thoughtfully paced progression of courses. Service was attentive and professional throughout. However, the overall experience felt rushed toward the end. Because the omakase is quite substantial, we naturally needed a bit more time to enjoy each course. We weren't lingering excessively, but we were told that the next reservation was arriving, which made us feel pressured to finish sooner than we would have liked. For a special-occasion dinner--especially at this price point--that sense of being hurried detracted from what would otherwise have been a wonderful experience. I understand restaurants manage tight seating schedules, but guests choosing a full omakase should be allowed a comfortable amount of time to enjoy it. With more flexible pacing or clearer expectations upfront, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

My colleagues and I were looking to grab some sushi for dinner one night while we were in Vegas for a conference. After searching Yelp, Kabuto came up - and the combination of high reviews and great pictures pretty much sealed the deal. That being said, we headed over to check it out. Kabuto is located in a small strip mall - the entrance is unassuming and the interior has a relatively simple setup. The dining area is small - outside of the sushi bar that has about 10 chairs, there are only three other tables. The decor was minimal - there were a couple of accents on the wall but outside of that it was pretty plain. Kabuto offers an omakase prix fixe menu with two choices/price points. We decided to go with the lower-priced option which came with eight courses; after sitting we ordered some sake and then the courses started. They did a good job presenting a variety of dishes - lots of different seafood which were described as each course was served. Everything tasted fresh, with the biggest standouts for me being the fluke served in a brow sauce and the green tea dessert. Service was great - the courses came out at a good pace and everyone was super friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Kabuto - while nothing really blew me away, the quality was there and we had a good meal. I would probably opt for other sushi spots next time I'm in Vegas, but it's definitely worth checking out.

My experience at Kabuto was incredible. I'm so glad I was able to get a last minute reservation here. From the moment you enter the restaurant, the service is impeccable. All our needs were anticipated, which contributed to a very comfortable and enjoyable dinner. We opted for the $120 omakase menu and planned to just order additional nigiri a la carte if we were still hungry; however, it ended up being the perfect amount! The fish was all extremely fresh and the portion sizes are very fair/satisfactory. Reservation is needed. Bar seating is preferred for the full experience! I can't wait to come back here the next time I'm in Vegas.

Food: 4/5 - Overall, the sushi was beyond my expectation! - There was one piece that was slightly too salty but the others were good. - It would have been better if the rice was warm as when it hit the mouth it appeared cold. -Tamago also would've been nice to be on the warm side, it was cold. -My favorite was the first appetizer dishes. The tofu was soooo good. -The mushroom soup was yummy! Service: 5/5 May was very kind. Very attentive on refilling beverages and friendly. Our chef was also so fast in preparing each piece! Ambiance: 5/5 Clean, modern. Highly recommend and would come again. This place improved since the last time we were here during Covid. As stated earlier, the experience turned out far better than our first time here! Very interesting to also see new chefs here.

The best sushi in Vegas. My friend and I came here with very high expectations, and they were somehow exceeded. The service is impressive with extreme attention to detail and timing. I love the cozy ambiance with a small Japanese sushi restaurant feel. The food is truly amazing as the fish is super high quality and the omakase hot and cold dishes are beautifully crafted. The price to quality ratio is amazing and I highly recommend.

I've been to Kabuto twice now and each time I booked too last minute to make reservations at the bar, so I can only speak from my experience sitting at the tables. The tables themselves are spacious and have their respective servers separate from the servers at the bar. As is accustomed with omakase dining experiences the servers take their time to explain each dish as it is presented to you and I've only had pleasant experiences with the servers I've had. They do their best to accommodate any dietary restrictions, but do keep in mind that omakase by definition is the chefs choice, which means the meal is compromised of a fixed course. There are two fixed course options: yoroi ($120/pp) and kabuto ($175/pp) with an option to add a sake pairing for each course ($62/pp for yoroi; $68/pp for kabuto). The most recent time I've dined here I opted for the yoroi course option with the sake pairing due to not wanting the additional grilled options being offered with the kabuto menu. The course consisted of an appetizer, warm dish, sashimi, nigiri, handroll, soup, and dessert (pictured except for the sashimi and handroll). I found the meal to be very filling and was tapping out by the time the handrolls had arrived. My favorites were the hiyayakko tofu appetizer and the nigiri pieces notably the seabream, uni, and chu-toro (fatty tuna). The sake pairings were lovely and came out with each course. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't the best restaurant to bring guests who speak at what would be considered above average volumes. The atmosphere itself is quieter, which compliments the artistry of the courses, however each time I've visited I've brought guests I was eager to catch up with over a meal and drinks. To the restaurant and servers credit no one said anything to us, but we did feel scrutinized by other patrons notably the woman sitting beside us who glared at my partner and visibly rolled her eyes multiple times when we each walked back from the bathroom lol. Overall I do love this omakase, but strongly recommend going with a "tamer" bunch.

Amazing omakase experience! Located in a plaza in Chinatown, this restaurant offers an exclusive and intimate opportunity to taste fresh fish with omakase chefs. There were many courses filled with a diversity of flavors and tender fish. A waitress is designated just for you and explains each dish. I came here for a birthday celebration and they brought out a decorated dessert plate.

Wow ! Just wow is the only way to start this review. We were lucky enough to score a reservation for a sitting at the sushi bar. We were celebrating player 2s birthday. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion celebration, as the service and atmosphere are amazing. Booking was easy enough as they use Resy, slightly confusing once you get your Resy confirmation, instructions are to email them with a menu choice. Turns out just reply to the Resy confirmation and it's recorded. Appears the due 2 seating, one early at 545 and one at 745. We did the 745. Easy to find location, very intimate space, looks like only about 12-15 people can be sat at a time. Very traditional Japanese minimalist ambience. Gives Tokyo chic vibes. Now into the food- we chose the Kobuto menu, cause it you're gonna splurge might as well go big. We were not disappointed at all. They also offered sake pairing, which ends up being 6-7 different sakes and essentially a bottles worth. We are big eaters, and we left stuffed after 7 courses ( and 2 additional Otoro rolls). The blue fin Otoro is definitely the star of the show, at least for us. Every course we found ourselves more impressed than the last. Very thoughtfully curated experience. The service was top notch and our server was very informative and helpful. Explained the different regions for the sake and different tastes with the food being served. 100% recommend, we would go here weekly if it made economic sense lmao.

If we have 4 people in the group. Can two people pick the regular omakase and the other two pick the premium?

    yes

Can I bring my own wine? What is the corkage?

My fiancé is pescatarian. I see a lot of the omakase options in Vegas have a wagyu/beef course, and I see that Kabuto allows no substitutions. Can anyone speak to a recent experience of their menu and whether or not it had beef or other meat in it?

I don't recall any meat in any of the courses. If there is one you could just eat his portion.

Wondering if we have to do omakase?

They have a separate table for à la carte orders.

We have show tickets at 7:30. If we did the 5:30 seating will we be done by 7?

Do you accept just one person too?

Will the uni sampler ever be back? I want to taste that red uni that I had 5+ years ago!

I don't recall an "uni sampler", but in my experience they have had two or three different varieties on the menu --- typically one from Santa Barbara and a couple from Japan. You have the option to add additional items ala carte before desert.

How much is corkage (Jan 2023)? What is the bottle limit? Do the chefs drink?

Corkage is $40. I'm not sure bottle limit.

Can a pregnant person eat anything here or is it only raw fish?

How likely am I to get a reservation for 2 for dinner on a Fri night, for the 7:30 seating, compared to on a Wednesday night?

It depends on how early you plan to reserve. I had a premium omakase seating for a Friday and I booked it a a week and a half out and it had only one slot left which I took.

How many sets are there and How many dishes do you get for the sets?

About 20 seats total and they do 2 seatings per night. The $175 option came with 9 dishes (it was a lot of food).

    Do we need reservations?

    Yes. They are on RESY

Can we go with our one year old baby?

    Please don't.

Will you be open for Valentine's Day?

Looking at the pictures of the menu, it looks like you have a great variety of fish. Is it possible to request an Omakase course that consist of all nigiris on the menu?

There is a separate a-la-cart nigiri menu that you can order from when you're dining in to add to your omakase.

What's the difference between the two menus currently offered? ($120 vs $175)

Kabuto Course ($175) includes one more extra dish than Yoroi Course ($125), and the former has more high-end ingredients than the latter.

I have to try a sit-down meal here one day. I got pretty much 1-2 each of the available onigiri. I didn't see some of the ones in the photos I've seen on Yelp, but a good variety nonetheless. I wonder if they had it for lunch but ran out? Anyway.. on to the onigiri. I never knew rice could be so tasty! It was just sticky, savory, and satisfying. I agree with some comments that there could be more protein and an improvement in the ratio but the rice was enjoyable as well, my taste buds didn't suffer. My favorite onigiri was the salmon & ikura, it was sweet, savory, salty, minty.. how can something so simple, be so complex in flavors? I was already full off 1-2 onigiri but my gosh, I wanted to open them all up and try them all at once. These would be amazing snackies for a road trip or a movie.

Everything we ate tasted was great! We ordered so much food.. My favorites: blue fin sashimi, uni pasta, fried tentacles, and chicken skin skewers. Yuzu mule was such a refreshing cocktail to wash everything down. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Fortunately, the wait was only about 10 minutes, which was surprisingly quick. I ordered the soft-shell crab, baked green mussels, and BBQ ribs with steamed rice. My son ordered the yoshu ramen and fried rice. The food came out fairly quickly, but I noticed that the baked mussels never arrived. When I asked our waitress about it, she said the kitchen was backed up. However, after waiting more than 30 minutes and already finishing the rest of our meal, it felt like the order may have simply been forgotten. What disappointed me most was the lack of an apology. The waitress even asked if I still wanted the mussels at that point. I was ready to cancel the order, but Kyo stepped in and tried to make things right. Thanks to his efforts, the mussels arrived about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, when the mussels finally arrived, I was disappointed again. They were prepared very differently from the baked green mussels I'm used to getting at restaurants in Los Angeles. They were quite spicy, which wasn't mentioned, and the flavor just wasn't what I expected. After waiting more than 40 minutes for them, they definitely weren't worth the wait. Overall, the food was decent, and the restaurant was busy and energetic, but the service mishap and the disappointing mussels left me with mixed feelings about the experience. I do appreciate Kyo's effort to make things right, as he was the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating situation.

All were delicious! It feels just like Japan, with the sesame dressing on the cabbage salad, the sesame seed grinder for the katsu sauce, and the yummy miso soup. Mine did have the ends slightly overcooked but overall the breading is done well and the thickness & juiciness of the wagyu captivated me! Only really noticeable if you're strict about how well the wagyu is cooked. For the general folks, it is really delicious. The portion size is big! The sauce over the lettuce made it taste much better. I appreciate the experience of the sesame and the sauce was a fun experience! And you can't miss dipping the meat into the sauce - it's so delicious!! The miso soup was on point as well. Everyone in my group was left satisfied. Attentive service. Friendly staff that checked in on us. They even accommodated for the younger ones in our group. They even had small snacks available to go if you want. We went around 5:40PM and got serviced right away. They have seating for groups of 2-6. If you need more, you may want to call ahead of time to see if you can get that pre-arranged. Parking? (i dont think they asked our cooking preference) otherwise, the space is very pretty, and the service is great and friendly! highly recommend, and im already wanting to make my next visit soon

I calmly explained that I had just called and was specifically told we could come directly and that our table could be held. Instead of listening or trying to help, she immediately responded with a nasty attitude and said, "If you don't want to wait, you can leave." We spent almost $190 for two people, and no customer spending that kind of money should ever be treated this way. Her behavior completely ruined the experience for us. Because of the way she treated us, I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone. Management seriously needs to do something about the front desk staff.
