I didn't know what to expect but I saw some good reviews so we decided to try it out. Overall, it was pretty good. It definitely was not a tourist trap which seems to be too prevalent in this area, especially with seafood places. It is a smaller place without much decor. If you are looking for a lively joint with beach vibes, music, etc you might want to look elsewhere. This place was calm and quiet but still casual. It is table service and our server was great. Very friendly and on point. The menu is small but it covers all the bases: soup, salads, fish sandwiches, shrimp platters, etc. I saw a good range of wine selections, too. Our server recommended a few things and I actually decided on the burger after our he mentioned that it is a favorite and it is served with a ciabatta bun. My wife ordered fish and chips so I was still able to try the fish. Burger was one of the best I've had from any restaurant. The fish was pretty good but it was a bit oily. I saw my very knowledgeable friend Martin's review on this restaurant and told my husband we had to give it a try. When I suggest any place we haven't been he always asks" has Martin been there?" Lol, he knows an expert. Unbeknownst to me my husband started going there every time he was in the area for business. He's quite the regular now. Owner is so nice and the service excellent. My friend recommended if you are in the Fruitville Area near Exit 210 on I-75, go try Kacey's Sea Food's Shrimp Trio, or classic batter fried shrimp, coconut shrimp and Wasabi shrimp. The place was packed for a Saturday lunch. I was flying solo and seated by the countertop and overlooking the open kitchen. You can watch the staff preparing the dishes with great detail. Wow, now you can see how they layout the presentation and organize the plate. I saw the preparation of lobster rolls, Kacey Shrimps, and more! I didn't order the Shrimp Trios but opted for Cod filets and battered Fried Shrimps Combo. The Cod filets is crunchy on the outside and moist inside. The shrimps are large, tender and crispy on the outside. The hush puppies are really good and the cole slaw is simply terrific! The food is excellent and smell good. Wow, what great find! Kacey's is a little place in a strip mall; my wife found it on Yelp while we were driving, but I was a little skeptical. Although a decent amount of indoor seating, it was a nice day, so we sat outside for lunch. We started by sharing a shrimp trio, with shrimp done in three different ways; very nice. We then shared a lobster roll with fries and cole slaw. The lobster roll was pretty good with a lot of lobster chunks in it. The fries were perfectly done with the perfect amount of salt. We visited the Ringling estate and museum. After walking all over in the place we were ravenous, we yelped a good place to eat. We decided on Kacey's Seafood after one misfire restaurant (parking, available seating, customer service, hours, and the curt hostess sent us looking elsewhere) When we got to Kacey's we were please to see parking was ample. We quickly found a plethora of yummy items on the menu. We are ordered and received our food quickly. The service was fast and polite the hometown pride and local decor made the atmosphere so welcoming. Our food was delicious, see pictures. Our only complaint would be that the dining room was very warm. If it had been a nice breezy night we might have preferred to sit outside. There is ample outdoor seating. read more

Ahhh...Pasta Normally when I visit Kacey's Seafood I go for fried food, like one of their baskets. Last night I changed it up and ordered their Seafood Scampi. I think my wife has put me on a no pasta plan without telling me, and seafood and linguine really sounded good. It was good, very good. The shrimp and scallops were fresh, the sauce had a nice mild taste, and the pasta reminded me how good pasta is. They have seating both inside and out. The inside seating was fairly spaced out, more so than I remember from pre-COVID, so we sat there instead of getting on a list for a table outside next to a parking lot. Started out a little rough as I was seated right away but waited 15 min before I finally got up to see if I could get a server. I looked at the menu and immediately placed my order. Apx 5 min later I received my food - Shrimp Kacey's. This dish was a unique pairing but it worked! Cumin lime grilled shrimp with an incredible fried black bean cake set atop some tasty rice and topped with some fresh guacamole. It was really delicious. Fabulous! The lobster roll was so great that I literally gasped when I took my first bite. The clam strips were also perfect--crispy and light, not at all greasy! Perfect fries. Tasty slaw with just the right amount of dressing. Hush puppies were well seasoned. Basically, everything was the best ever. Our waiter was personable and on top of everything, even though there was already a waiting line by 6 pm on a Tuesday. The atmosphere is low-key, come-as-you-are. Wow! Am I impressed with Kacey's! It has everything: great food, excellent service in a nice environment at a reasonable price! My cod sandwich was fresh, hot, with a light, crisp crunchy coating. I usually find Ciabatta to be heavy, but this one was light and delicious. It comes with a remoulade drizzle; I needed more. My partner's shrimp po-boy was proclaimed the best eaten ... maybe ever. Lots of shrimp of a good size, good fixings, not enough remoulade. The fries and my coleslaw were excellent as well, I just couldn't get to them after the amazing sandwich. Btw, sandwich comes with bacon and guacamole, which I requested be taken off of mine. We topped it off with their lemon cake. It was amazing! I'm happy to find a place like this so close to I-75.
