Rating: 9/10 We wanted ramen, but they ran out and only had no soup noodles. Tried Abura Soba (the noodle type) for the first time and it was quite delicious. We thought it would be dry because it didn't have soup but it was not at all. The noodles were chewy and the flavor was there. The takoyaki was so so good. Dropped in post an afternoon Ranger game when we were shutout of Tonchin. They were able to accommodate us at a nice table in the front of this bright clean modern spot on 6th & 37th. My son & I each had their Aburosoba called Niku Miso which is noodles with slow cooked slices of pork, minced miso pork, menma, poached egg, chives, scallion and nori. Some call it Ramen without all the broth. They were happy to swap some kimchi for the menma, as I don't love bamboo shoots. The dish was hearty and flavorful, especially when you added the dried garlic, sesame and chili oil table-side. Since we had skipped lunch we split a cucumber & squid salad that was outstanding and some karagee that was tasty but needed to be crispier! They were out of Sapporo draft so we had some of their Asian imported bottle beer. The service was very friendly and professional. It's a 4.5 star winner! read more

Kajiken is a spot that my friends and I love to go back to pretty often, and the food is always good. It's hard to find other abura soba spots that do it just as well (I'd also suggest their ramen)! But my review is for the service. Last time, the server accidentally spilled some oil/soy sauce mixture from the abura soba onto my friend's vintage designer jacket (her jacket was hung on her chair). The server saw it happen as a result of him carrying too many bowls and plates while rushing in and out of the kitchen at once, but didn't stop to apologize when it happened. This caused my friend to panic about any oil stains because she came to visit from Korea and it was a one of a kind item. We had to confront a different worker to explain what had happened and to ask for any advice for cleaning tips. The other worker went to talk with the server that had caused the incident but he didn't leave the kitchen area for a good 10 minutes. At this rate my friends and I are desperately trying to wipe off any stains we saw with tide-to-go, with not much luck. Afterward, the other worker instead apologized in his place, which led to the manager (we think) of the store eventually apologizing and compensating us for our meal. He also gave us suggestions on dry cleaning or nearby laundromats that could possibly help remove any stains. This was much appreciated, but we still believe it could've been avoided had the server been more careful. While we love the food here, we would suggest that in order to avoid this happening to other customers, maybe it would be good to only pick up a certain amount of bowls at a time since it seemed the spillage occurred as a result of carrying too much at once in a narrow space. We'll still be coming back eventually for the food since it's still good and a go-to spot. read more

ugh the food was seriously so good. this was my first time having a dry (??? no broth) ramen and it was great! my dad who's japanese said this really hit the spot for him and i agreed. they let you adjust the flavor on your own with vinegar and spicy oil at your table, as well as having a drawer of chopsticks there always. the decor was cliche but honestly i loved it anyway. the cramped feeling honestly made it feel more authentic than anything! read more

Quick, fast service! I got the vegan ramen which came with a cream sauce of some sort. It was not exactly what I was expecting, but then I read that this restaurant specializes in "dry ramen" which doesn't come with any broth. My ramen came with edamame and tofu.
