My family made a reservation for today, party of 6. We were celebrating my son's Birthday. We got the BBQ Set for $249, that was perfect! Meats, chicken, beef, lamb chicken Caesar salad, cucumber & tomato salad, eggplant dish, breads, hummus, sauce, plus a bottle of wine. In addition we ordered a Khachapuri, that is what my son was looking forward to! The service was good, the ambiance was very peaceful, loved the colors of the restaurant. Also the person who took my reservation over the phone was also very nice and helpful. We weren't sure of the best place to park and gave some suggestions as Sundays are extremely busy in the area. 1/2 my party found parking nearby and the other 1/2 found parking at the Galleria parking structure near Bloomingdale's. Be careful in the driving structure as there are blind spots of people rounding the Corners going from level to level and it's narrow. Walking from galleria to Kara's was not far at all but we did park on the roof, found a spot near the elevator. When we got to the ground floor, we cut through In-N-Out to the street. We would definitely return again!

Food is delicious!! I love armenian cuisine this restaurant has several great options! Service is great!! My server Samuel was very kind and attentive to me and all his tables. Very nice ambiance inside they have the tables set very nicely, staff is dressed clean and polished. Will be back! The watermelon cucumber lemonade is refreshing and a must try!

Conveniently located across the street from the Americana and Glendale Galleria. It was my first time trying Armenian food and it did not disappoint! The chicken lula plate was amazing and I liked the caprese salad as well. The Armenian cheese plate was interesting too- the block of feta cheese was a lot but it wasn't as heavy as other feta cheese I've had and the pairing with the herbs and bread was great. It almost felt Vietnamese. Loved the watermelon-cucumber lemonade too. Service was great and the restaurant was beautiful and comfortable. No wait on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. Knocked off a star because they were out of so many items we wanted- no Khurjin or Armenian combo. Was a bit pricey too. Free parking in the Glendale Galleria.

Right across from the Americana, so you've probably walked past this spot at least once. I've actually been here before during the day with my kids, but the evening vibe feels a bit different. The live violin music that night added a really nice touch. At first I didn't even realize it was traditional Armenian cuisine because the flavors felt somewhat similar to Mediterranean food. Once I realized, it made the experience feel a little more unique. The food was great for sharing, so coming with a group and ordering family-style worked really well. They also have fun cocktails, Armenian tea, and desserts neatly displayed in clean containers, which I thought was a nice detail. Overall, it was a fun experience and a great spot to visit when you're around the Americana.

I am the biggest fan of Caucasian food. Glad to see that Karas offered Khachapuri and other Georgian/Armenian options in Glendale. I ordered to go as I had to make a flight, but I thought my to go experience was nice. The server accurately predicted how long my food was going to be prepared. I also appreciated the interior of the place - I wish I could dine in. In terms of the food, I enjoyed it despite the drive back home. The Khachapuri had a nice balance in taste. The grape leaves weren't too soggy. The chicken was cooked well. The only reason why I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because I think the prices were higher than what I expected. I recommend folks to come by and try what Karas has to offer!

Have been here multiple times, food is good, but there definitely room for improvement. This place has a history of having bad, rotten potato's. And this is not the first time I've experienced it over the years. So it's definitely not one time thing. French fries are heated from the day before. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the plate, but there was only two small pieces of Lulah in each plates, and was plenty of potatoes that were gone bad. Since in many years they have not cared enough to change supplier it's clear for me that it will be the last time we order food from here

Karas is located right across the Americana and after many years of always walking by I finally got to try it. I've always had Armenian food like kabobs and dolma but I'm glad this place offers more than just that. Our server also made our dining experience here very enjoyable. Great vibes here and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a solid list of cocktails and wines. We got a beef in lavash and as well as the chicken BBQ plate. I've never had beef in lavash before and the flavor is delicious. It's like braised meat and it comes with cheese and other seasonings so you can make like a wrap. The chicken BBQ plate was incredibly juicy and tender served with rice, a side salad and a pepper with onions. Everything was fresh and tasted very healthy.

We were walking through Glendale a few weeks ago when we passed by Karas, and right away the smell stopped us in our tracks. My wife and I looked at each other and basically decided then and there: next time we're in the area, we're eating here. Fast forward to that "next time," and right as we're walking up, we see a DJ set up outside. Totally unexpected. Turns out it was the first time they were trying something like that, and even the servers asked what we thought about it. We sat inside, so it wasn't loud or anything, but from what we saw, it added a fun, laid-back energy to the place. We went with the Family Combo #1, which honestly should be called a feast. It came with pork ribs, lamb chops, beef and chicken BBQ, beef and chicken lula kabob, fire-roasted peppers, fire-roasted potatoes, rice, hummus, ajika, and a side salad. And they don't stop there; they bring out a side of bread too. I added tzatziki because... well, why not? Everything was just solid. Tons of flavor, perfectly cooked, and there was so much food we ended up with leftovers for the next couple of days. They don't technically have a kids' menu, but they do offer pizza, so we got a cheese pizza for our daughter, and she loved it. There's also a bar if you're just looking to grab a drink, and they've got a good amount of outdoor seating too. Overall, we had a great time and already made plans to come back soon with more of our family.

Homey Armenian spot with delicious food. Came here for a birthday lunch of about 20 people and it was well organized. I parked a couple of blocks away for free and you can also park at the mall (not Americana) for free. Complimentary bread was provided. We had the salad followed by platters with an array of meats. Everything was well seasoned and juicy. I particularly liked the beef kebabs. We had pizzas too (which are vegetarian) and I liked those as well. We tried Georgian lemonade, which came in a bright green color and was very sweet. They do have wine and beer. We ended with a soufflé and baklava-cake hybrid with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Upon arrival, we realized that the outdoor sitting area is completely covered by cigarette smoke and we were kind of stunned how openly the restaurant management is to allowing this to happen. Came for a lunch on a Tuesday. Sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Chicken breast came recommended. I usually don't go for the chicken breast because we all know how dry as a desert that could be. It surprised me how juicy the it was! It was delicious! Summer salad was also so refreshing and juicy. Prices were a bit steep for lunchtime. Selyodka Includes: Boneless slices of salted herring 4 slices of rye(?) bread raw sliced onion sweet pickles (tasted like bread and butter) Well seasoned roasted potatoes Medallions of some kind of basil-based sauce. Prime location, great service, and delicious Armenian food. I enjoyed having dinner here. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outside, accompanied with heaters. My party of 4 split the family combo #2 and it was plenty of food. We substituted the pork for beef lule and it was no problem. The sides were so unique! I loved the flavor of their ikra and the pickled salad was a refreshing addition. I will definitely be back! They have some Armenian beer as well. I parked in the Marketplace parking lot, which gave me 90 minutes for free. read more

I visited this place recently with my family. We ordered small combo number two, three dip plate, bosch and caesar salad. I would like to note that everything was very tasty. To be honest, I did not expect much, because I am not very familiar with Armenian kitchen and I never heard about this restaurant before, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The meat in this restaurant is amazing, you will not be disappointed. In addition, the borscht is very tasty, I have not been to my homeland for a long time and wanted to try this soup to remember how everything was before. I would also like to mention the service, the server Sofia was friendly and helped with the choice for our family. In general, the atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant and cozy. We are here right now. Took 30 minutes to bring our main dish. No manager in sight. I must write the review while waiting for our waitress to take her sweet time until she comes back to our table. The meat was delicious. Summer salad was lacking salt and flavor. Coleslaw was good. The service is not that great. They assumed we all spoke Russian. Slow to bring out water. Never checked on us or asked if we need anything else. No music or fun vibe. Table behind us watching an Armenian "serial" really loud. Not a nice family dinner as we intended to have. It was pre-cut in small pieces so there wasn't that much on top of a full container of spaghetti. My husband loved the eggplant parmesan. As you can see I am on the fence about this place.

Depending on what flavors you want, they will charge $6.00 for each flavor you build your own. I wanted half Hawaiian and half Vegetarian. Custom Medium would have cost me $31+ rather than $23+ for Medium Hawaiian Style only. I ended up with the latter and also got a regular Vodka Sauce Pasta. Total bill came to $38 including tax + tip. I enjoyed the pizza very much. Crust was thin. Sauce was tasty. Plenty of ingredients on pizza. Square cuts versus slice cuts. As for the Vodka Sauce Pasta, it didn't taste the same as before. This time it tasted bland as if it had plain marinara sauce only. Slightly disppointed about that, hence, 4 stars! Besides the restaurant has its own delivery service. We offer our customers cuisine with traditions. Our goal is to maintain the Armenian taste and aroma, blending it with the American lifestyle, at the same time. History of Karas brand KARAS was founded in 2005 in Armenia. Currently Karas is one of the biggest food chains operating in Armenia. It has 13 service points in capital Yerevan and 2 service points in resort cities of Armenia. Chronology In 2008 the company was one of the firsts to put in use its own delivery service, which currently occupies one of the leading positions in the Armenian market. In May, 14, 2013 KARAS carried out rebranding by changing its target market segment. The rebranding campaign had its influence on the visual image and the functioning of the company. I recently dined at Karas Dine-In for my birthday, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming and casual, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. We started with the Lahmajoun as an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. For our main dishes, we shared the Zharkoe with pork, a hearty and tasty dish that we all enjoyed. We also opted for the Family Combo #1, which could easily feed 4-6 people. The combo featured an array of beautifully grilled meats, including BBQ pork ribs, lamb chops, beef BBQ, chicken BBQ, chicken, and beef lula. Each cut of meat was packed with flavor, but the BBQ pork ribs were my favorite. The combo also came with fire-roasted peppers, potatoes, rice, hummus, ajika, and a side salad, making it a feast for the senses. Let me say this first I'm not anyone's cousin nor know anyone who works here. I went there with my family to try their food. I ordered Beef Kebab plate and I absolutely LOVED IT! I'm a meat lover so I'm very picky about the way they cook it. Special thanx to whoever made the meat for beef kebab and whoever cooked it. We ordered potatoes with mushrooms, it was very delicious . The spot was nice and clean, I saw some reviews people complaining about the wait. It took 6 min to get my food which was perfectly fine with me. By the time I washed my hands end enjoyed the beautiful Americana view my food was ready. People must understand if it's fresh it takes time to cook !!! Yesterday, I visited first time Karas in USA place and was thoroughly impressed. From the first moments, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming waiter named Baglan, who made our evening even more enjoyable. He was very attentive to details, considered all our wishes, and helped us decide on the choice of dishes. The menu impressed with a variety of meat dishes, and each was prepared to the highest standard. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked, with a rich aroma that's hard to forget. I especially enjoyed the ribs, which simply melted in my mouth. Baglan also recommended excellent drinks that perfectly complemented our meal. I went today restaurant "Karas" and was absolutely delighted with the borscht they serve. From the first spoonful, I experienced a rich and full flavor that immediately reminded me of homemade meals. The broth was perfectly prepared, combining a slight tanginess with the rich aroma of fresh vegetables. The meat in the borscht was tender and juicy, and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, adding a special texture and aroma to the dish. Serving the borscht with a dollop of sour cream and fresh herbs made it even more appetizing and appealing. I especially want to highlight the waiter named Baglan, who made our visit even more enjoyable. I recently visited a great barbecue place Karas and I loved it! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, perfect for meeting friends or having a family dinner. The menu offered a variety of dishes, but the main star was, of course, the barbecue. I especially want to mention our waiter, Baglan. He was very attentive and friendly. Baglan explained each dish in detail and helped us choose the perfect combination for our dinner. He was also quick to respond to all our requests and was always ready to help. The barbecue was simply delightful--juicy, with the right amount of spices, and perfectly cooked. We tried several different types of meat, and each was excellent. I went to Karas tonight for the first time with my parents, I was AMAZED! The food is DELICIOUS, and their service is EVEN better! Victoria was our waitress and I must say it's been a LONG time since I've went to a restaurant and had such great customer service. She greeted us with a smile, took her time explaining and answering our questions, and just had such great energy overall. I ordered the cream with mushroom soup and the ciabatta chicken sandwich (both in which she recommended). Let's just say I couldn't stop eating! It's extremely convenient and a big plus that they have so much variety on their menu, it accommodates anyone and everyone's food preference. You are MISSING OUT if you don't try this place. We just happened to walk by this restaurant and I feel very lucky that we did! Our waiter was awesome. They also have nice outdoor seating with heated lamps. The food was excellent!! Have fun and order more food than you think you should and enjoy leftovers the next day. I highly recommend the Greek salad or summer salad and the Margherita pizza! All the tables near us ordered those two items! It's Armenian so I also recommend some other bread items like the kachapuri or the Lahmajoun. I also saw a lot of people eating soup but we didn't try it but we will next time. Lastly, get the barbecue. To clarify, it's grilled meat. Not American style barbecue sauce type of meat. The chicken with rice was delicious and seemed healthy. It was excellent with an Armenian beer. read more

Whyyyyyyyyyyy does this place have the absolute WORST SERVICE! They will not answer your phone calls, they will look at you when your sitting waiting to order, and then god forbid you get there about two hours before they close they will tell you "you might not have enough time to order and eat, we're very strict on time..." This place acts like they don't want any business. Ambiance is depressing and uncomfortable. Food is adequate at best but you have much better options literally within 200 feet than includes great service food and ambiance. I've tried coming here several times for convenience purposes since i live across the street but at this point im beyond fed up!! I gave it like 15 tries and i swear it got worse every single time!!! read more

Ok so let me break down my rating into the following main segments: 5 for location and parking 5 for ambience feel and interior design which includes high ceiling and well lit space, good music, TV displays food channel which is at least tolerable when you eat. 5 for waiters and communication. Nice people, well behaved and helpful. 5. for being neat and clean. 4. Time it took to bring the food on the table. 3. For the borsch which was tasty but cold. 2. For main dish "Jarkoie" which was seriously hard to eat although I was really hungry as both pork and pepperoni felt stiff and dry. 5. For overall price which was relatively reasonable provided other meals are better than what I ordered. read more

The location and the set up is great. The menu is filled with many choices of great food. I have only used their delivery, I never ate at the location and the delivery was very prompt. Some of their food tastes amazing and some don't and they seem to change every time I order so they are trying to improve all the time which is great. Some little things should be improved if they want to keep the doors open, I received my order and the pizza was over cooked, I mean way too much, it was burnt, I mean they must have seen it when it came out of the over but they decided to deliver it anyways without hesitation. I will still give them 5 start because they are new and still working on improving. read more

I can't say enough good things about our experience here! Our server, Karine, was absolutely amazing. She was so sweet, patient, and attentive, taking the time to walk us through the menu and recommend some fantastic dishes to try despite being so busy! Thanks to her, we discovered the khurjin, and let me tell you, it was the BEST thing ever! It was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and completely unforgettable! We ordered bbq and arugula salad. The order was delivered in 40 minuets as I was informed when I placed my order. I would have worried if they had brought sooner than that because it would have meant that they are serving pre cooked food and they just warm it up before serving. BBQ was really tasty because they cooked it on coal. And also, it was well seasoned. I have tried arugula salad in many places; however, this one was the best I've had. It was made with arugula, pear, walnut, and they put feta cheese on top. The salad dressing was slightly sweet and tasted good with the other ingredients. And the prices are reasonable. This was hands down the best Adjarian khachapuri I've ever had. That cheese pull?? Insane The dolma was super juicy and paired perfectly with yogurt - absolutely hit the spot. The plov with beef was also delicious, and the fish was not dry at all - really well balanced flavors. And the lemonade... wow. It's honestly hard to find such a good lemonade in the U.S., but this one was excellent. Special shoutout to our server Michael-top-level service. He constantly checked in to make sure everything was great and refilled the hot water in our teapot like five times without us even asking That's real hospitality. 10/10, will definitely be back. read more

I take my parents to Karas Dine‑In and we all feel welcomed from entry to exit. We started with the Three Dip Plate--hummus, tzatziki, and ajika--each one distinct and flavorful. The Family Combo #1 fed our group of five perfectly: beef lula, chicken lula, beef BBQ, pork ribs, fire-roasted peppers, potatoes, and rice. Michael was exceptional--he paced the courses smoothly, offered extra pickled vegetables. He handled my mother's gluten preference with care and recommended the Summer Salad.
