It's become a running joke in my friend group that Karver's is basically the only place we go to for lunch because of how often we would eat here. But hey, it's for such a good reason because these sandwiches absolutely slap. The king of them all without a doubt is the Smoked Turkey and Apple, which is such a mountain of meat and goodness. After driving past Karver several times, today we decided to stop in. I only wish we would have stopped in sooner. Everything about Karver exceeded our expectations. The customer service was fabulous. All employees were wearing face masks, gloves and sanitizing frequently. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the gentlemen at the counter answered our questions about their menu. They had a great selection of Ciders, Beers and Wine We ordered the Smoked Tri-Tip Sandwich, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, a side of Bacon Mac and Cheese. We also decided to try the Frosè - frozen rosè slushie. They had tables outside and inside, all were at least 6 feet away from another table. Each table had a sign on it showing if the table had been sanitized or if it needed to be cleaned. We decided to sit inside. We waited about 10 minutes for our food. Everything was delicious. The Bacon Mac and Cheese & Frosè were definitely the stand out items. This is definitely going to be one of our new go-to spots. I'm excited to try out more items in their menu. read more

Super happy to write a 5-star review for Karver. We were in the area, unfamiliar with lunch offerings, so I turned to YELP for help. We ordered both soups (tomato and chicken corn chowder). They came to the table piping hot and very tasty. We also ordered the tuna niçoise and the turkey pastrami sandwiches. Generous helpings, nicely presented (with kettle chips, yum) - each flavorful on delicious bread choices. We could only eat half, which will be great for later. Update: I explained what happened last time and the staff at Karver gave me a free gf reuben to make up for the experience. That helped make up for the terrible sandwich. I usually like them but this time I went they made my $17 reuben sandwich with the END pieces of bread!. This is unacceptable and I would like a refund. Been wanting to try this place since they opened. Went with my daughter. I got the 3 cheese grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup. The sandwich was barely cooked, and the cheese wasn't melted. The soup was very acidic, and did not compliment the sandwich. I paid $16 for something I had to add butter to and actually grill the sandwich. (Couldn't eat the soup) Disappointed. Overall: Pretty nice place. We went on a Monday the first time, they are closed Monday. Don't make the same mistake we did. Atmosphere: it was a cute place, they have outdoor and indoor seating. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Overall it was a cute setup and they all had a display fridge where you can see the appetizers which is pretty helpful. Food: For food we got the Philly cheesesteaks sandwich, which was the special they had for that day. It was very delicious, but it felt like it was missing some seasoning. The other sandwich we got was the pastrami Ruben and that one was very good! The flavors was wonderful in that sandwich! This was my second visit to KSB and I had a typical sequel experience. Sadly it will be my last. My first time I had the BLT and was stoked but this visit I tried the Hot Pulled Chicken. Besides being over priced at $13.59 for what would be considered a small sandwich (if not a swollen slider) it included a pinch of stale kettle chips in a travel bag. The chicken was over cooked and chewy; my little bird sando was drowned in sauce, as if in an attempt to mislead my tongue from what my jaws learned too soon. After a few minutes in its TOGO container the puffy bun holding the meat and shredded purple cabbage succumbed and became soggy, like a loaf end fed to the ducks. Yikes! I honestly gave 'em 3 stars because the menu is well built and varied, the staff was kind and the sandwich though not repeatable, was delivered quickly. Also the water was refreshing on a hot day. This review is a little late, as I haven't had time to review lately. But I must say, when I went here, I was happy with my overall experience! The people who were working were nice, and were helpful in helping me decide what to order (The place had recently opened, and everything on their menu looked super tasty!). I ordered the Cuban, which was full of flavor! (Highly recommend!) I haven't tried anything else there yet, but just on their Cuban alone, I would go back again! The place was very clean, the service was quick, and the food was tasty! (Can you really ask for much more?) I guess there is one more thing you can ask for! Good prices! I personally think the prices on their items were very fair, and not unreasonable. So there is another reason you should check this place out! It is also located in a great location! Especially if you want to park and walk to other food places. They do not have a private lot, because they are attached to an apartment building, but there is usually plenty of street parking on the block next to the place, or over a block or so! I don't really like to be the guy where I'm like "oh i hate this" and everyone else is the opposite. I got the pastrami Reuben. I got it to go because I wasn't going to eat it for a bit. So maybe that played into it. I searched for Reuben in the reviews. Nothing. Looks like I'm the first. I wasn't a huge fan. The meat was a little tough and a few bites had not even two layers of meat. Thinking about what I pay for reubens elsewhere, maybe this is a fair price. I liked the veggies inside and I wish more places would use such a ratio. More flavor, less actual veggie. First time visit to this little sandwich heaven on earth shop. Best roast beef sandwich I think I have ever had. My wife and mother in law split the turkey apple sand which was absolutely huge. So full disclosure, got this to go a couple of months ago, forgot to take a picture when I got home... We had the Cuban, the Steak Po Boy, the BLT, the grilled cheese, and the Avocado toast. My daughter liked The AT a lot, said it was a bit messy. I had the Cuban - good, but I've been spoiled by Bunk and Lardo. This was not in their class, but still a solid sandwich. My wife liked the BLT a lot. It did get soggy, but that's what happens to go sometimes. My fault. The Po boy i had a bite of. Was ok, but my least favorite of what we had. Was expecting more. The grilled cheese was excellent, especially on a rainy day. Hit all the right notes. Overall really good, but PDX has some really high standards for a 5 star review in my opinion. Everything about the food is done perfect. I really appreciated the cuts of bacon they put on this sandwich, usually bacon on a sandwich is thin and wimpy, this bacon was not. It was thick, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, not too crispy and not soggy. The ingredients were fresh, the aioli was really good and the bread was great, sometimes ciabatta bread can be chewy but this bread was not! It was super good. Also the turkey was perfectly portioned, a generous amount, but not so much that all you taste is turkey. It was just a really well crafted sandwich. Also got the lemon bar that was a really tasty treat. If you are craving just a well made quality sandwich, with good meats, flavors and textures, this is the place. Sunday afternoon and being open less than a week, a great place for quality food no matter the weather. The spacious interior for being in the food hall has a mix of high counter seating, regular tables for groups and a space for the condiment bar with real silverware and trash can/water dispenser. In the front you see the menu of drinks offered and food display case of side dishes and desserts. Also, the specials of the day menu to the side. I was greeted and told menus are on the front counter, so many choices for an indecisive person like myself. Two popular options are the Fried bologna and Cuban. With the rain, I ordered the 3x Grilled Cheese with a cup of Roasted tomato bisque. Didn't forget about dessert as I got the blood orange lemon bar, a total of $12.50 The meal was filling but not overly stuffing myself, great portions. With table service and self clean up, the grilled cheese served to me had an added texture from the delicious goat cheese and soft, subtle crunch on the Texas toast. It also came with a handful of chips. The tomato bisque was a little on the thinner side and different taste than what I was used to, a lighter taste (not a bad taste, just different in texture and color). Finished the meal with the blood orange lemon bar and it was so good! Sweet but still had the tang, I just wish the piece was bigger! I was checked in twice as well. One gender neutral restroom, very clean and brightly colored soap dispenser/paper towel dispenser. The toilet paper was hard to get out though. Excited to come back to try other sandwiches and even salads too, I hope the communication between staff improves as some orders got mixed up (the chef and server error) for a group when I was there and small organization details but with good food and free wifi too, I can see this as a spot for satisfying cravings! read more

Made it over to Karver with some co-workers for lunch this week. The spot is extremely small with limited tables and can fill up fast when they are busy, so make sure to arrive early or give yourself plenty of time. We were lucky to find one table open when we arrived. We weren't sure what to order and talked to one of the employees there about their specials. They had a lot of great options and I finally landed on the Buffalo Chicken on a Baguette, which happened to be the one of the specials of the day. The sandwich had shredded chicken, pickled carrots/celery and crumbled blue cheese. The bread was great and really held up well with all the toppings. Overall the sandwich was good. I would have liked it to have a little more heat to it; I threw on a couple splashes of Frank's Red Hot to make up for the lack of heat. The sandwich also came with a side of what I believe were kettle chips. While this is a sandwich shop, the real star of the show for me was the side dish of roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and manchego. The serving was a decent size, but I could have easily eaten another order or two. I would love to bring my family back, but the menu is a little limited without any real options for the kids. I'm sure they would love the milkshakes or the huge cookies (I saw them in a jar at the counter and will definitely need to try one next time), but the sandwiches were a bit much for them. read more

The portions are big, so bring an appetite or save some for a bite later. Great, friendly service and a casual, modern beautifully designed space with pull up doors for an inside outside feel. Ordered Karver on Door Dash today, my first experience with the place and I can definitely say it will be the last. I ordered their BLT which on Door Dash is marked up to 11.50. This was acceptable to me with them touting to be a premium sandwich shop as long as the product delivered. When you think BLT, you think nice well cooked bacon, fresh chunky tomatoes, and fresh lettuce on nicely toasted bread. That is definitely not what Karver offers. The bacon was incredibly undercooked and fatty. The tomatoes were just straight mush and the lettuce was non existent. It was literally inedible and went straight in the trash. I highly DO NOT recommend their food and will never eat here again. read more
