Absolutely loved everything about this place and can't wait to come back as a local! The Shinsen Omakase is incredibly satisfying, with each course tasting exceptionally fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The service truly stands out. Every dish is introduced with care, everything is explained clearly, and the entire team makes you feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Huge thanks to Chef James, Owner James, and Mrs. Natalie for making the experience so memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail are unmatched. You can tell they truly care about their guests, and it shows in every part of the experience. They all deserve every bit of the praise!

A gem of a restaurant for amazing quality sushi in a nice calm setting. The whole staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the food and sake. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate (if there is a large party). We've never had issues having conversations at our table.

Came in for their $39 omakase set special, ordered some apps and drinks on top of that. Bill was about $300 for 3 people. We left happy and full! The food did take really long to come out, but understandable due to how busy it was for the anniversary! It's a smaller sushi spot but can still accommodate quite a few groups of 4 and maybe one large party in the middle. This is a really great spot for a date, solo dine-in omakase experience, or take-out!

I came here during their 3yr anniversary and they were having a special for their Shinsen omakase. I was lucky enough to snag a reservation! First impressions were amazing. Service was spot on! From the hostess to to the server to the chef. Amazing! The seaweed salad came out first 10/10: super refreshing and light. Great start to a meal. You also had a choice of edamame or soup but I opted for the seaweed salad. Shinsen omakase 6.5/10: it came with 10 chef Choice nigiri. Overall the fish were fresh. Our favorites are the salmon ones. The tuna didn't wow up that mic. Everything else was not bad. However the biggest complaint was the rice which is one of the big factors of good nigiri. The rice ratio was too high and unfortunately the rice was too mushy. The flavors were also very good such as the different garnishes went well w the fish. Wagyu roll 7/10: good flavor and cripsy texture but the meat that was given was very small it was hard to feel and taste the Wagyu. Baked crab roll 6.5/10: this dish had rly good potential however I felt like it was missing something it was pretty heavy and I think it may be a preference but it felt weird eating warm cucumber in a roll. Overall the service stood out the most. The place is pretty Tiny but it makes the experience a bit more intimate. Unfortunately the rice can use some extra work but the fish was fresh!

Everything tasted awesome and fresh but I guess I expected more from this omakase. However this omakase was $39 for their anniversary. The nigiris were my fave. They were all flavor packed and you didn't need to dip it in the soy sauce and wasabi. I did have to buy an extra handroll just so I'd leave there feeling full

We came in for their anniversary special and I feel it was worth the price. Definitely a good intro into Kase. The servers were very nice and explained each dish well. We started out with an appetizer. I got the seaweed salad and my sister had the miso soup. Next was the 10 piece chef picked nigiris. They were all very fresh and delicious. My favorite was the sea bass I believe. And we ended with a hamachi handroll. I was worried I might still be hungry after but I left satisfied and full.

I was craving some good quality sushi and was trying to avoid the all you can eat places simply because I was not feeling super hungry to justify it. I stumbled on Kase on a whim as it was basically the only legit sushi place open between lunch and dinner and was not ayce. The interior of the restaurant was nice and inviting and I like the natural wood and black design choices. I ordered some sushi and handrolls. Both the sushi and handrolls were delicious! They are slightly smaller in size than what I am used to so just know the price is higher for smaller portions but good quality. Our waiter was also very nice and patient as it took a while for me to go through the entire review

Tucked away in the corner of a quiet plaza is this hidden gem. Most likely serving you is the owner himself. With over 22 years of experience, you can tell each dish was carefully thought out. If you get the chance to, sit at the bar and try one of the omakase sets. My party and I tried the 9 course omakase meal. Every course had different flavors and pairings. Throughout my meal, I had oyster, hamachi, toro, salmon, Kobe nigiri, a lobster handroll (delicious!), and eel with coconut flakes. The chef can also serve flavors more to your preference of food. The chef said he uses different types of wasabi and soy sauce. They use the house made soy sauce on their dishes. The interior is cozy and quiet. I walked in on a Friday night and was seated right away. If you have a large group, I would call ahead to make sure there's a table available. ***top top not so secret*** I heard they do tuna carvings a few times a year. I'm excited to definitely come back and try it out for their next carving in March.

If you're looking for a spot that transports you straight back to Japan, this is it. Every visit feels like stepping into a Tokyo sushi bar--no plane ticket required. Their sushi is consistently pristine: incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced, and crafted with the same attention to detail you'd expect from a true omakase experience, but without the intimidating price tag. The chefs clearly take pride in their work, and it shows in every piece that hits the plate. The new menu and recent additions are exciting and thoughtfully curated, offering both familiar favorites and creative bites that keep things interesting. Service is always warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, adding to the overall experience. This place never disappoints, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We went here for a birthday dinner, the wife got one of the omakase courses, she said they were all very good except for just one that she didn't care for but I dont remember which and I believe it was a personal preference not due to the food itself. So if you are a sushi lover im sure this place is good for you. It was a slower night when we had come by and we were seated right away, the restaurant is very clean and well kept, no issues there. The service was pretty good except for the next part that I will explain. The reason for the 3 star review is because I do not eat seafood at all, however the wife loves it so we ended up here for her but I can usually find items that I can eat at most of the sushi spots in town. When we ordered I asked the waiter about the options that had meat and not seafood, I was recommended some of the wagyu beef options, I ordered 2-3 of the wagyu things and the gyoza. Gyoza was fine and the other wagyu options were also fine, except the 8 piece wagyu roll. When received I took a bite and immediately knew something was off, there ended up being something called kani kama in the wagyu roll, which is imitation crab from what I now understand. I instantly felt nauseous. I understand I am eating at a sushi restaurant, but when someone asks what you have for the regular meat options and only orders all the non seafood options, it might be nice to let them know that one of the options that I ordered has seafood in it. The waiter was kind, apologized, and did not charge for the roll, and asked if I wanted anything else however there really wasn't anything else for me to order. This review is about my experience more than a general review about the food.

This was an excellent first time at Kase for us. We shared a few small plates and absolutely everything we ate was delicious. The seaweed salad was probably the best one I've actually ever had. The restaurant is tiny and intimate with soft blue lighting and the server was attentive and gave great suggestions and information and timed all our dishes out perfectly. It was slightly pricy but you are also paying for the expertise of the chefs and servers and it's definitely worth it.

Nice place... 6 of us went there tonight. It was quite quiet. Pretty simple decor. The server was really nice and patient. Fish was nice but kind of small. Nice fresh hand ground wasabi. Tea was excellent too. I did not think the music was appropriate for a sushi place and no display of the offerings in a glass case. Simple review for simply great sushi

BEST sushi and omakase set in Vegas. Way off-strip and always worth the trek. Sushi is fresh and delicious, presentation is thoughtful, service is attentive and considerate. Treat yourself to something good. Kasé never disappoints.

There's also a nice couch section with a round center table where I saw a group of friends enjoy their visit. If you're into sports, there's several televisions around the perimeter that provide good view of the action. As my first time here, the staff is very kind in explaining how the process works. I was told that you can enter your phone number and then it allows you to scan the QR code on the table for food. The alternative is to walk up to the front counter to order. I wanted to learn how to do this process so I tried. I added the food item to the cart on my phone but when it came to checkout, I was unsure how to proceed. It asked me to add a credit card, yet I already had one opened on file for my visit. I went back up to the front and the team member was unsure so we handled the entire food ordering up front. I put in an order for the chili nachos and the size was quite decent with a lot of toppings. It's a good shareable to start. I also tried the sweet potato fries which I asked for more well done to ensure that they come out with some crisp. The sweet potato fries were actually a waffle and they did come out nice, hot and crispy - so that is a winner of an app! The pour yourself concept is interesting and it's nice that each sign provides information about the content and more info if you tap the screen - such as the general beer taste description. The glass shelf has several options. I didn't see any cold glasses which would have been a plus. The staff member said that you can sample beers by just pouring a little, but there were no small shot glasses to do this. Therefore, I was compelled to just go for it and pour 3 ounces to try a light lager. Sitting back at the table, I was almost certain that a new glass would be required for each visit. However, I saw everyone bring their own glass back up to refill each time. I didn't see any clear signage on site that explained the process. If refills are allowed - then I think that additional signage should also explain pouring etiquette as well. There's a water station for self serve as well. I appreciate the lids and straws that are also at the station. I would have loved to have some ice readily available but I'm sure it's probably just an ask as I saw others have ice in their drinks. The pricing per ounce reminds me of a self serve yogurt place in that the amount you get actually feels more expensive in the end. The per ounce feel makes you think it's a good deal, but it's on par or a hair over other places that pour for you. Overall, I think this is a cool concept to try and to show out of town friends if they don't have anything like this in their area. Also - I can see this being a great place if friends are going dutch as they can use their own card and everyone is responsible for their share. Lastly, if you don't like to commit 16 oz to just one beer, this is a great way to try several beers in one sitting.

I've heard of and have gone to many of the Flowing Tide locations in Northern Nevada, mostly Reno,…read moreso I decided to come here to this location with a work friend for lunch. We both had fish and chips on our brains, and I know Flowing Tide in the north has yummy fish and chips, so I was hoping this Vegas location would too. The menus for all the locations in both Northern and Southern Nevada are posted online. This location was easy to find, Vegas is so easy to get around, everything is all laid out on a grid, with big throughfares every one mile. We just got on Trop as the locals call it, till we got to Decater and go a little bit and there we are. The place is open 24 hrs. like a lot of things in Vegas. Parking is easy and we go right in. Looking at the menu, I see prices are higher by a few bucks per item and I see more upscale items on the menu that we don't have in the north, like crab cakes! I saw the fish and chips, so that's what we got. I really don't care for coleslaw in general, so I got mine with double fries instead and my friend likes coleslaw and is cutting carbs, so she got double coleslaw and no fries. The order comes with 4 nice pieces of crispy deep fried fish, along with malt vinegar of course. The fish was super hot and tasty seasoned at the table with salt and malt vinegar. I was taught that was the British way to do fish and chips, tarter and catsup is the American way! If I'm down here in Vegas again, I'll have to give some of these more upscale items a try, unless Flowing Tide decides to bring them to Reno locations.
