This is hands down the best coffee shop in Portland. The coffee is perfect, the ambiance is soooo cute and romantic, and the baked goods and quiche and all the things in the food case are so yummy, freshly made each morning and some even secret recipes. There is always a line and every seat is full but that's because it's THAT GOOD. Sorry to give this place a one-star review. The coffee was ok, the pastry was magnificent. The 20% mandatory service fee they don't tell you about until it's time to pay (very underhanded) is not acceptable to me for these reasons: I stood in the line. I returned to the bar when my drink was called. I stood there with my coffee and pastry until a table finally opened. The service fee was not earned. I would have refused to pay except someone was on their way to meet me, and Keeper Coffee had been their suggestion. If they are going to demand an additional 20% for me to drink coffee in their establishment, I would ask they also enforce a mandatory ban against all the customers who hogged tables with their laptops. Keeper Coffee is asking me to subsidize their employees because they refuse to pay them a living wage, but showed me not a single reason for why it's right. 17 bucks for a large mocha and a pastry. I wish I lived at that level. So I can't come back. But if the above doesn't put you off, it's a good place. I wish I could afford it. It was packed, as noted above, so apparently it's good business for them. And the guy at the register was friendly and had a dreamy smile, even when he dropped the mandatory service fee on me. Just post a sign outside, then see how business goes. It's only fair. read more

Keeper coffee is definitely a keeper in my list of coffee shops. Now I live in Beaverton but driving to Keeper coffee you just know it has to be good! Very radiant energy right when you walk up to the counter. Starting off strong with the pastries. The options did not disappoint. From Pumpkin bread, to rosemary scones, to breakfast sandwiches; Keeper has got it all. Coffee to go with a sweet treat, they have a wide selection of yummy drinks. My go-to is a maple latte and go figure, they've got one. Yummy doesn't even describe it. Timing is perfect but I did go on a Wednesday morning. When your gal has a list with no plan you end up drinking lot caffeine with in an hour at different spots. After a brief stop at TOV, ended up here to try the coffee and lemon tart. Ordered a Savory(pretty good), latte , Jasmine Tea( Awesome) and the Lemon tart(disappointing coz it smelled more like raw egg) . Walking from the outside, this place looks like it belongs in a quaint cottage setting. Coming inside, the music is soft and relaxing, cozy atmosphere, and the interior is great and feels old. Their pastries are delicious and a nice portion for the price. The coffee is delicious with lavender and rose cardamom as a latte option. You'll feel right at home and I think this would be a good personal workspace to get things done or to even read a book as all cafes are. I highly recommend checking out this place. Keeper Coffee serves my favorite coffee roaster in Portland which is what attracted me to this shop at first! Their shop is also so cozy and cute and they have a good amount of seating for the size of their space. Walking into the shop, I've always been greeted with a smile and a simple conversation (in a good way). The baristas are super polite and greet each customer the same! The coffee is delicious! I will say that the barista makes the world of a difference and almost every time I come by, I'm very satisfied. This cute little place was quite amazing! With its heavy wooden front door it made you feel like you were walking into Grandma's house. The coffee and Coffee cake I enjoyed were tasty and not overly sweet. The top was a bit crunchy but not break your teeth hard. And the mocha had a cute heart on it. The line never went away while we were there but the tables seemed like they rotated quickly. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, I'd heard about the house-made pastries and vegan options, and supposedly cozy vibe. Waited in line for over 20 minutes. There were vegan options but only savory, no vegan cookies or pastries which was a disappointment. My mocha was fine, but nothing special. For my last coffee shop experience in Portland, I wanted to find one of those places that brings me joy. I love good coffee, but I also really value the feeling of spending a couple hours writing with a latte and pastry, and Keeper completely exceeded my expectations, from ambiance, the coffee, and the variety of delicious pastries. They had outdoor and (limited) indoor seating and were also putting drinks in mugs instead of paper cups if you said you weren't taking it to go, which I really appreciated. came here on our first visit to portland. got a rose cardamom latte and a lavender latte. minds were blown, and coffee standards were changed from that point onward. came here on our second visit to portland, and this time i was honestly kind of bent on finding a place better than Keeper (i'm not the type to just go to the same place over and over). we came here first, took our first sip, inducing that "holy sh*t" moment once again, then tried to find it elsewhere the following mornings. Prince Coffee got kind of close. Tōv Coffee got REALLY close, but thats just cause that place is so dang unique (i'm always putting cardamom in my coffees at home now, i technically had your guys' first, but that dude really emphasizes the cardamom...but anyway, this isn't a Tov review). I was a third wave barista for almost 10 years, AND I've lived in most of Portland's neighborhoods in that time - I've never had a coffee shop within walking distance that is *this* good. The coffee is Coava and they bake all pastries in house. The baristas pull such good espresso shots - some of the best I've had in the city - and the pastries are insanely good. I think I've finally found my favorite coffee shop in Portland! What really shines here is the large selection of quality baked goods: quiches, sandwiches, galettes, cookies, lemons custard, scones, muffins, and much more. Every time I try something new it is absolutely delicious. They also have a tasty variety of teas and coffees. I usually get a lavender matcha which they make with the perfect among of sweet/bitter contrast. Regarding the atmosphere, Keeper is small and quaint. Seating can be limited, but they do a great job with the space they have. Tables are often full along with a line at the cash register for good reason: everything is tasty and the staff are a delight! Speaking of staff, Keeper is exemplary when it comes to customer service. All the baristas are incredibly sweet, friendly, and super down-to-earth. I always find myself smiling after placing an order. One time I accidentally dropped a baked good trying to grab a seat and they promptly brought me a replacement. This little bakery coffee shop is a gem, I just wish I had discovered them sooner! read more
