Ok. This is a hole in the wall great restaurant. It is popular. On a Tuesday night, there was a 20 minute wait. We opted for the bar. Started out with 2 pounds of crawfish each. They were room temperature, but the waitress offered to re-dip them. Good sized, balanced spice. Cost only $3.50 peg pound. Them we had raw oysters @ $9/dozen. Awesome! Good sized and sweet (btw, why do people put hot sauce and horseradish on oysters?). My friend then ordered whole flounder dinner. It was delicious. Long wait but the gumbo I had was worth it. Got the crab cakes as appetizers and they didn't look as good as they tasted. Looked a little too fried but actually quite soft inside. Then got a bowl of seafood gumbo with a side of baked macaroni. Best macaroni I've had and the gumbo was really good. Don't waste your time with this place. I waited an hour and 15 minutes while watching the old lady hostess seat her friends ahead of us. I let the first couple of friends go, but when it approached 6 sets of friends, I voiced my opinion. I was rudely told "regulars go first" and that is when I left, I will never set foot back in this place until their "hostess" is removed and someone professional is employed. Staying at the airport Day's Inn. Used their food delivery service. Order the so-called blackened redfish. No one seems to know how to blacken fish anymore. Pathetic, and fairly sure it was tilapia. It was so dry and flavorless. Gumbo was weak and greasy. Garden salad was all lettuce and a tiny slice of tomato. Garlic bread was hard as a brick. Best thing on my plate were the peas from a can. Food is great but the take out order service is terrible. As a Kenner native Kenner seafood is a staple restaurant. Pretty much everyone has eaten there and it is always busy. Given that the location is small and always busy I tend to make a to go order. They tell me it will be ready in 20 minutes but it is always 35 minutes or more from the time I've called to when I get my food. I'll still go back, but expect to wait a while when picking up to go orders. read more

I ordered crawfish crabs and shrimp to be delivered to San Jose CA. About a month six weeks ago The food arrived with the box open and seafood completely exposed the crabs were loose in the shipping box (there was no interior box) the crawfish and shrimp were in bags but seemed loosely tied there were a few gel packs but not enough for that amount of food . I asked Southwest cargo why the box was opened They said it arrived like that and stated it had been to two other airports before arriving in San Jose . The box was secured by a plastic band no tape or packing etc. We had to discard all of it I was afraid to eat it because it was open when it arrived and there is a pandemic going on. I contacted Kenner Seafood and the said it was not their fault and did not refund any money. I contacted Southwest and they refunded shipping $50 and an extra $50.00 they told me they would have refunded the total coast but it would have been an extra $8.00 to insure it by Kenner Seafood which they made no mention of Ive ordered from them several times before with no problem but this was a waste never again read more

The refills on softdrinks weren't free, but cheap enough to balance out ($1.50 each for a big (32 oz?) fountain drink). Right amount of seasoning on everything. Coming from Houston, this particular local place was a great find. The decor was very neat and old fashioned. It had that home type feel. The food was fantastic. I order the oyster po-boy. Which was amazing. I also order a couple of different things there also (catfish, fries, crab cakes, crawfish, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, and Mac & cheese). The fried seafood was not as oily as I was expecting it to be. The crab cakes were decent. Crawfish was ordinary nothing special. The mashed potatoes were normal BUT, the gravy was AMAZING. The gravy used is from the roast beef. The Mac & Cheese were awesome as well. The waiter listed about 5 different type of cheeses used. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would recommend anyone visit or just wanting some good old fashioned fry seafood. They only downside about this particular restaurant was refills on Soda products. This brings two responses to this: 1) Anger and 2) The owners must be CHEAPSKATES!!! And if you've ever eaten here, you'd know the owners are NOT cheapskates. The food is great, so are the portions and so are the prices. But PLEASE give us soda refills like EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT in Metairie and Kenner, besides maybe a choice few Chinese restaurants that serve cans. All it does is tick me off and make me get tea.
