If you want REAL Louisiana crawfish that actually has some FLAVOR and spice this is the absolute last place you should go. The only good thing about their dried up, falling apart no flavored crawfish is they are a few cents cheaper than Smitttys seafood. I order the 2 stuff crab, there was no crab meat in it just full of BREAD CRUMB, the macaroni didn't have no taste to it, hush puppies horrible, OMG I'm glad I didn't pay for my food and that some one else did. Hosted an event there this evening. The food was amazing, from the various appetizers to the po boy sandwiches to the shrimp remoulade salad, red beans and rice and Bread pudding. Our server Ashley was amazing. Especially after learning she'd been there all day and only stayed past four to work our event until eight. The whole in the wall has dynomite food kool staff the long lines must mean something they also have the bar and you must be hungry because the plates of food come large.I absolutely love this place and it is next to a lot of other service. I order my food go shopping and go back. My food is ready. I go across the street and eat watching tv at home they have a nice atmosphere it is always crowded. They take your name and call in order some people call ahead to get their table's and that is why you see them go before you most people are in and out. Full and happy I kmow I see them myself and it can make your day to see other's happy. So I am giving five star's to this restaurant. I've been here a few times. If you must go here, get boiled seafood such as crawfish, but do not get grilled fish. They obviously did not clean and gut their fish well enough, and thus the taste was not very good; it was very, very fishy. The last time I went here, the service was despicable - definitley not Southern hospitality. I told the server very nicely that the fish was not good, that I didn't like it because it was overly fishy, and therefore that I wasn't going to eat it. Being from Southern Louisiana, I've been eating seafood and fish my entire life and have had numerous pieces of fish! I know good quality when I have it, and I can distinguish good from bad quality. Next thing I know, the server comes back to tell me that someone in the kitchen had tasted the food from my plate and had concluded that "that's the way it is," and then she handed me the same plate of fish back!! I told her that I needed something else because the food was not well prepared, and I wasn't going to eat it. She refused to take it off of the bill but said she could offer me something else to eat. Since she offered, I assumed that she meant they could cook me something else free of cost. I got a side of macaroni and cheese but was appalled to find out that my little macaroni dish was on the bill. I can't pay for this kind of service again. read more

I called about boiled crabs and they said they had some never mentioning they were cold. So once i get there and place my order for 1 dozen large crabs, I realize they are getting them from the cold ares. So i ask politely if all they have are cold, to which she replies yes. Now clearly I can see a few by the other hot boiled seafood but shr insist that is all. That is until a caucasian lady asks for 1/2 dozen large. The lady helping me whispers in the other ladies ear to ring me up because I just asked about hot ones and she knew that she would give her the hot ones and I would complain. So once again I question the cold ones and to my surprise, I was asked, did i want them to go put them in the pot of hot water to warm them...i was livid...really????? And to top it off the crabs were priced at $39.95 per dozen. Will NEVER go there again! Worse treatment received there in the 10+ years since I have been going. Guess the racism had to rear its head sometime. Glad I found out because I will b telling my story on every restaurant review site! read more

We had dinner here last night and enjoyed every bite. This is part seafood/fish market, part restaurant, and was very busy. The locals know where to come, that's for sure. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and we noticed most folks were ordering beer by the bucket. We started with raw oysters, which were not only priced right but some of the best we've had this season. One of my issues with getting raw oysters at some establishments is that they don't clean the outside of them, so you'll be sucking down some mud with your meal. Not here...the shells were clean as a whistle, and these were some nice, fresh and plump specimens to boot. Fried grouper was my entree of choice, and it was delicious. I'm electing we start a food movement, wherein chefs and fry cooks from Louisiana give master classes throughout the rest of the country, teaching cooks in other areas how to fry food. I've never had better than in this part of the country, and Kenner Seafood did not disappoint. Some of the sides they offer...their potatoes and corn on the cob, are cooked right in the Cajun seasoned seafood boil they've got on the burner, and these have a wonderful spicy flavor to them. They boil crabs, shrimp and crawfish here, and many diners were enjoying platters of them. Whether you go for blackened redfish, fried catfish or the boil, the seafood here is the best. The menu is large, so there's a little something for everyone, even if your children will only eat a hamburger and fries. Service was excellent, and our waitress was friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the oysters and hamburger steak was good but that's it. We went with five people including a child. We also got the gumbo, red beans, and a kids spaghetti and meatballs. The red beans taste like they came out of a Blue Runner's can. The gumbo had no seasoning at all. The kid's spaghetti and meatballs was literally spaghetti and a meatball... no sauce. We were having to scoop up sauce. Not including, the taste of it was disgusting. We hardly touched it and asked our server if we could switch it out. She told me her boss couldn't do that and that it's ours. Which I should have known better due to the fact tap water with lemon cost a dollar. Lastly, the server had beyond too many tables or maybe very separate tables because she was hardly around. As a server of a locally owned restaurant, all of the above would have never been okay. Our restaurant takes pride in satisfying our customers. This restaurant wants to squeeze every cent out of you. Decent food..horrible service. Been there a couple of times as a back up to going to "Fisherman's". Last time I was there I waited for about 15 minutes while on my earpiece. Once I approached the front I told my friend to hold on while I speak to the lady taking orders. I stepped up and she just starred at me for a second and left. She started doing random things and as I waited (without saying anything on the phone). She finally comes back and tells me that if I wanted to be helped I would need to get off the phone. I thought, I was just waiting for the last 20 minutes in line and once I get up front I don't say a word to the person on the earpiece and now you're refusing to help me because i'm wearing an earpiece?? I let her know that she didn't have to help me ever again and that I would no longer be giving her or her store any of my business. I've never been treated that rudely and haven't had a second that I miss that place. It's good food, but I have to say that it only comes in second to Fisherman's food and service. read more

Used to be a huge fan of this restaurant until today. Placed a large crawfish order (180 lbs) on Monday and was told s price of $2.59 a lb. I go to pick up my order today and they say my price is going to be $2.99 a lb and they weren't going to be able to fulfill my order. I had to argue for almost an hour before they'd give me the 180lbs but they refused to give me the price they promised. Went here for a late lunch this week. Best artichoke oyster soup ever. I don't even eat oysters unless they are tiny and fried crisp but this soup was heavenly. I have been to Kenner Seafood several times now. I keep thinking things will get better, but sadly that has not happened. The fried seafood was mediocre. I will say that their boiled seafood was very good. The service, however, was deplorable. I ordered 3 po-boys--1 shrimp, 1 catfish, and 1 oyster. I received 1 shrimp and 2 catfish. Then I was told that I ordered 1 shrimp and 2 catfish because that was what was written on the order form. I disagreed. When the server went to the back, he mysteriously found the misplaced oyster po-boy. By this time, the po-boy was cold and I asked for a fresh sandwich. I was told, flat out, NO! I told the server I would not come back and he told me that that was fine with him. So, Kenner Seafood has lost a customer. The sad part is I live three blocks away, and it would be nice to walk there for dinner on a regular basis. read more

I have been looking forward to crawfish for a while. This place was hilt commended by the hotel staff and great reviews on Yelp. The staff was very friendly and the place is a typical seafood joint. The long wait line, as annoying waiting is, was a good sign. People were eating steamed shrimp and boiled crawfish and everyone seemed to had a good time. I was disappointed with the size, taste and quality of the critters. I would have paid extra for jumbo, but it wasn't available. When I boil these things, I would toss the size they served here. Way too small. Hardly any spice on them and, based on the taste, I don't think they were purged. (I know not everyone purges them, but without it they taste like LA mud) I am looking forward ordering some live jumbos from LA Crawfish Company and have a big old crawfish boil with friends and family, in Southern Utah. My husband ordered fried okra which I have never liked, but I always try to see if i might this time. Holy cow I ate half of it, and I don't like okra.
