Made a stop by for a to-go order! So glad I did! Had the most delightful snack for my trip home. I ordered the Egg and Cheese Jerusalem Bagel, and it was so flavorful and filling. The outside was nice and crispy and I enjoyed the seasoning inside. So flavorful. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the ambiance of the space. It was also convenient that I could order online for a quick pick up. Will definitely make a stop by for an in-person stay.

Stopped in for a treat -- great iced coffee and probably one of the best cookies I have ever had -- pistachio and toffee. Staff is super fun too!

I finalize my recent bakery visits with K'far; which is much more than a bakery, but I I'll return to try some of their 'cafe' dishes another time. Of course, I'll start with what I believe is one of the best pastries in the city - the Pistachio Sticky Bun. It's one of my all time favorites. It's the most popular pastry they sell. It has a perfect balance of sweet and crunchy with a heavenly caramelized glaze exterior and a fluffy tender interior that's the result of an incredible 2 day process with dozens of steps to it. Next is the Walnut Cinnamon Babka. I believe K'far may be trying to follow in the footsteps of The Bakeshop's Chocolate Babka Bun. While this pastry was good - I think it falls between a babka bun and a Morning Bun. See attached picture. It's got a delicious glazed crust - with spirals of cinnamon inside, but the dough is more 'bun than babka' like. The Chocolate Rugelach was very dense - you can count almost a dozen layers of chocolate. It's very good - but very chocolaty. The online description is 'flaky, buttery texture.." it's not. It's very moist, so the dough has a thicker consistency, with a very deep chocolate flavor. The last pastry was the Apple Cranberry Turnover. This was basically a croissant type pastry with a small amount of apple cranberry filling. The pastry was flaky and flavorful with a light sweetness. I wish there had been more filling - which the croissant needed for balance, but it was still delicious.

Came to K'Far for a quick lunch - it was a random weekday so luckily there was no line! I opted to eat on the lovely little patio. I got a chai latte with oat milk and a Shakshuka (which, they told me is not a traditional Shakshuka but rather reimagined as a pasty). It was delicious! The chai latte had great depth and spice flavors, and the Shakshuka pastry was a great mix of flaky puff pastry and strong tomato and egg flavors. Just knocking off one star because for a $5.75 latte, they only filled the glass halfway up. I also got one of their famous pistachio sticky bun to take to go!

Another great trip to KFar and this time tried one of their non-pastry items. The kale and quinoa salad was super fresh and a great switch up from my usual bagel order. Loved sitting out on the patio, just make sure you have a hat or sunscreen if you happen to be at one of the tables in the sun!!

Very clean and posh cafe. Friendly staff and great cafe menu. The sweets were so good. Hit the spot. Would definitely come back.

Quick. Easy. Tasty. Stopped in today for the egg and cheese Jerusalem bagel. Saw it on TikTok quite a bit and wanted to give it a try. It was delish. Fresh bagel bread, moist egg, cheesy and a bit of spice. I'll definitely be back for that. 10 bucks but it was pretty big! The space is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The wait was a little long, but they had a full house so no big deal.

I really enjoyed this cute café. It is so aesthetically pleasing the seating is a bit tight and the restaurant is kind of small but it works and I don't quite feel like I'm on top of people. There's also outdoor patio seating that's covered. We ordered a Yemenite latte which was good. I could taste the spices and enjoyed it. I really appreciated the metal straws that come in the drinks. The menu is a bit limited but they do have great options. We also ordered the brown sugar, ricotta toast, and the smoked salmon sandwich. We split this between two people and it was enough for the both of us. If you are hungry I recommend getting your own sandwich though. The prices are about expected for that area. The staff are observant and helpful. There's also only one bathroom so there is quite a line. I would definitely recommend going to this café for a light bite and drink. The salads and the pastries looked really good and I would love to try one next time I'm in.

K'far was described to me as a Philly classic, and after visiting I can see why. With the outstanding and unique coffees and pastries served in an incredibly beautiful ambiance, the wait is always quite long (45 min-1hr for some folks who walked in after us) but it's well worth it! Unfortunately we visited K'far after a hefty brunch so we didn't have much room for pastries or bagel sandwiches, but they're on my bucket list for my next trip. The spiced fig and honey latte was heavy on the aromatics with a lighter sweet note, which made the oat milk I subbed in stand out more. The vanilla cardamom latte, however, was the reverse - a bit sweeter but less of a cardamom or spiced note. Both were so delicious! I can't wait to try a pistachio sticky bun or one of their giant cookies next time I return to K'Far!

    Spiced Fig & Honey Latte

I visited M'Far Café for breakfast recently and had a phenomenal experience. I started with a Spiced Fig & Honey Latte which was very flavorful and not too sweet. Next, I decided to have the Smoked Salmon Jerusalem Bagel. A soft crisp lightly toasted bagel was covered in sesame seeds and filled with decadent cream cheese, cool meaty salmon, and tangy pickled onion and cucumber. The sandwich was a perfect blend of flavors and textures. I also had the Pistachio Sticky Bun which was warm, soft, nicely doughy and covered in a sweet and sticky caramelized glaze. The pistachios added a nice crunch and flavor. This was a perfect pastry.

Scallion bagel, yeminite latte, pistachio sticky bun, smoked salmon bagel

My husband and I love the Jerusalem bagel anyway it comes! I love it with scallion, he loves the egg and cheese and the one with lox as well! The texture is different than any bagel we've had! It's long, thin, and crispy yet chewy when toasted (which is how it comes). I think this is my favorite scallion cream cheese in the area! This is a place we always bring our guests too! :) Personally the pistachio sticky bun was a tad sweet for me! But my friends and cousin love it!!! It's their number one item to get here! As long as it's not the weekend it's pretty easy to get seating inside! Weekends can be 20-45 minute wait depending on our party size!

Nice cafe where everything tastes good and people are friendly My favorite was the borekasim. Three types all delicious pastries and unique Labneh trio - 3 spreads where honey pistachio was my favorite. Hard to taste the flavors on the others. The dough was cooked so well Yemenite coffee latte was sweet and delicious Smoked Salmon sandwich - tasty and not too strong of a cream cheese flavor. Tastes lighter despite a huge portion. Overall, service was great. Polite staff despite it being so crowded and tables crammed in - don't do any secret deals you're right up next to other people lol. Food was amazing. Easy to share with others and you walk away not feeling greasy or food feeling too heavy. Plus you get unique food options. Highly recommend! Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5

The entrance is kind of hard to see so we ended up passing by the place before noticing. We came here on a Saturday and had to wait around 30 minutes for a table. We got seated in a space that's outside of the main restaurant and flows into the lobby of The Harper. We didn't mind though, because it was much quieter there. We ordered the Yemenite latte and the pumpkin bhaharat latte for drinks. Both were great and not too sweet! They make their syrups in-house. For food, we got the smoked salmon and the grilled cheese, Jerusalem bagel. We were very surprised about the bagel, we loved it! It had a nice crispy exterior that paired very nicely with the inside and filling. There was a good balance of bread and filling. It would be nice if there was a side salad or some greenery that goes with the bagel but overall it was great. For dessert, the chocolate rugelach was recommended so we tried it. We were warned that it was small, and small it was. It looked like a mini croissant, but when you bite into it, it is much denser and sweeter. I think the size was actually perfect because of how sweet it was. I think next time I come here, I'll probably get the bagel to go instead of dining in to avoid the weight. The bagel doesn't have a lot of filling, so I wouldn't worry about it getting soggy.

Not really. It's not like people hang out there like at a Starbucks.

Do they accommodate vegetarians at dinner? I noticed the menu is much less vegetarian friendly than during the day.

The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE. Perfectly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, sitting in the most delicious smoky morita-apricot glaze and topped with a bright cucumber-melon salad with mint and blue basil. The contrast was perfection! The rich, smoky pork, the sweet and slightly spicy glaze, and that cool, fresh salad on top. Every bite had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Easily one of the best pork chops I've ever had. As wonderful as the food was, the service somehow made the experience even better. We chose this because the menu had a nice mix of southern and American favorites that they weren't accustomed to. You should've seen two northern boys trying to describe grits to a Swede. Our waitress was awesome. She was great at explaining things and talking about each dish. Of course there were questions. Some things probably got lost in translation but everyone was happy with their choices. I also feel like servers are always put in an awkward position when you ask them to help you choose. Food is like art. It's so subjective. So for starters we got the fried greet tomatoes and the Burrata. Burrata was not ideal for sharing with people you do not know. It was one large piece of toast. So she actually took it back and someone cut it into 4 sections for us. The fried green tomatoes were awesome. It had a nice tangy sauce with sweeter pickles that came along side. My colleague got the open faced chicken sandwich which was an enormous amount of food. It was two fat chicken pieces on two thick slices of toast. I got the salmon sticky rice bowl with a side of the charred broccoli. Both were so delicious. The salmon had some broccoli in it too. So I really over did it. The charred broccoli side had crusted Parmesan in it and a creamy sauce. Both dishes were just knock outs. Almost forgot I got the love latte too. That was really good. I got it with oat milk. So I highly recommend this place. Great for a business lunch too. Easy to hear one another. Music wasn't too loud. Oh they were very gracious with us. We were 15 minutes late because I wouldn't stop talking in the pre lunch meeting. Yeah I'm that guy. Figures I'd be on Yelp.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

We have known each other since we were five, lived together in New York for six years, and stayed close through marriages, children, and jobs that occasionally made us question our sanity. He has seen me at my absolute best and worst, and he was also the person who helped me get fit and regain some discipline while we worked in finance and used excess to numb the misery of those jobs. Choosing Butcher & Singer gave the evening exactly the ceremonial weight it deserved. Steakhouses take on different meanings as you move through life. In your early twenties, an expense account dinner feels like the dream: free drinks and an extravagant meal while you are broke, eating ramen, and sitting at the bottom of the professional food chain. By your early thirties, after enough wining and dining in Midtown Manhattan, the ritual can feel exhausted, and another steakhouse dinner holds little appeal. In your early forties, with young children and fewer unstructured nights, catching up with a lifelong best friend over a great steak feels incredibly meaningful, partly because neither the dinner nor the friendship needs to become a weekly habit. That contrast was especially fitting because my friend is remarkably health-conscious and frugal despite being tremendously successful. He seldom strays from his disciplined diet, while I have historically been much more willing to wander toward fries, dessert, and whatever reckless topping appears on the menu. A traditional steakhouse lets both people leave satisfied: one can order a lean steak and vegetables, while the other can treat the table as permission to suspend judgment for two hours. We shared the same celebratory dinner, but our plates still reflected exactly who each of us had always been. Inside, Butcher & Singer delivers the classic steakhouse fantasy with extraordinary conviction. The soaring ceiling, monumental columns, and amber lighting give the dining room a glamorous scale, while the dark wood, painted murals, and small shaded lamps keep all that grandeur from becoming severe. This is where Stephen Starr's judgment becomes especially apparent, because both Butcher & Singer and nearby Barclay Prime depend on concepts that could age badly: one could become stuffy and antiquated, while the other could become glossy and artificial. Instead, Butcher & Singer still feels transportive, Barclay Prime remains contemporary and cool, and each succeeds because the design, service, and atmosphere are executed with total confidence. Our meal included what I believe was a Caesar salad, filet mignon, asparagus, fries, and a rich chocolate fudge cake. I added a blue cheese garnish to my steak, a completely unnecessary flourish that became the crown jewel on an already excellent piece of meat, while my friend kept his side of the table considerably cleaner. Parc creates a useful third point in Starr's small Rittenhouse constellation: its bar steak and burger offer a more casual form of red meat, somewhere between an ordinary dinner and the full ceremony of Butcher & Singer or Barclay Prime. I appreciate both, but a burger leaves me feeling heavier, while a properly cooked lean steak can feel filling and indulgent without ruining the rest of the night. Only one detail could have improved our experience. We sat at a small table near the host stand and the clock, which was comfortable and entirely reasonable for a table for two, but it left us slightly outside the dramatic center of the room. This was no one's fault, merely the kind of learned preference that comes from seeing the full room afterward and knowing where I would request to sit on a future visit. I hope to return when the budget allows, settle farther inside among the leather booths, glowing lamps, and sweep of the murals, and once again let Butcher & Singer make a rare night with an old friend feel worthy of savoring.

This place is stunning on the inside and I absolutely love the lore of all the movies that have…read morebeen filmed inside and the various businesses that the building housed before the restaurant. With that, the food was good and it didn't feel just like your typical steakhouse and I attribute that to the service and how wonderful the staff was. We ordered the oysters, onion soup, delmanico steak, porter house, and the fillet. The table shared the hash brown which was absolutely delicious and by far one of the best items I've had at a steakhouse potato wise. We also ordered the asparagus and the seasonal corn dish. For dessert we had peanut butter tart, cheesecake, and ice cream. Over all this was a great experience and I would definitely come back.
