The food is kind of unbelievable how good it is. The barreka trio is a must and their pistachio sticky bun is chefs kiss. I love their Jerusalem bagel as well, it comes with 3 cheeses and roasted tomatoes. The only downside is that the food is very oily so not always the best thing in the AM. Also, the line is usually out the door but you can sometimes get lucky with their to-go counter. Every time I'm in Philly , this place is an absolute must. We came here on a recommendation. Everything looked scrumptious in the display case as soon as we came in. Service - Rude hostess, sweet waitress The hostess came to greet us and when we indicated we wanted to dine in, she went to look for tables. When she returned she asked indoor or outdoor, and informed us it would be a moment to get the table ready, so we went to look at the treats to prepare our order. She did not like that. She wanted us to wait in the doorway and we asked to look at the display case from off to the side. She very visibly rolled her eyes and said something snotty under her breath. When she seated us, she very starkly told us to keep ourselves within the boundaries of the table, keeping arms and legs and chairs strictly inside the bounds and not to move the chairs. Overall, very harsh and rude woman. Thank goodness we got a very kind waitress to make up for the hostess's behavior. She was even rude to others and they got her as a server too. Bummer for them. The menu was a bit vague on the bagels so we anticipated the labneh trio to be a sandwich but it was a bagel only with three different spreads (all very good), just not expected when we saw lovely sandwiches coming out from the same section with vague descriptions. This was my first visit, and I was hesitant at first because many reviews mention long wait times. However, I went at 8 AM and didn't have to wait at all. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and our server, Anthony, was incredibly kind. He guided us through the menu and recommended some bestsellers. I had high expectations going in. I went in at 3pm, and it was shockingly packed. It was a 30 minute wait for 2. The vibes were very fancy and there were a lot of people sitting inside on the cold winter day. So they have a limited food menu. The main food is salads + bagels and toasts, as well as pastries. I wanted to get the food so I got the Arabic Salad. It was 13+5 for the chicken. Unfortunately, the food was not that good. I felt like the salad was not that much different than something you could get from the Target across the street. The chicken was pretty disappointing because it was tiny bits for $5 extra, and they were relatively flavorless. The dressing was also relatively flavorless, and the feta was not very salty. The chickpeas were OK. The whole thing wasn't bad, but it was just meh and bland, and none of the ingredients really had zip or flavor. Service was a little bit disappointing, because they rarely check on you. I actually prefer self poured water but I think they only asked us once how everything was, and so it took a bit to get us our check... The egg and cheese featured this spice like rub (think pesto) called Schug, which was chefs kiss. The sticky bun has a nice crisp on the outside and remained ooey gooey inside. This place always has a line and for good reason. Arrived before 10 AM and quoted a 1 hour wait, but realistically it was more like 30-40 minutes. Went to the Rittenhouse Farmers Market to shop around and made the wait breeze by! Heard amazing things about the sticky buns, but I needed to try the Jerusalem bagel. If you love a crispy sesame bagel, this is the one for you. It's more flat than doughy, but it is perfectly crunchy. I got the scallion cream cheese one, and the cream cheese was so fresh! Interior was beautiful. There's outdoor dining in the warmer seasons. There's a separate line for take out and for seating, but I think it's worth it to put your name down for a table. read more

I wish I could rate K'Far more highly with the experience of dining in and trying more of their offerings. When I went on Friday afternoon, which I assumed wrongly might be an off-peak time, the place was packed to the gills. The only spot with any space was the take-out line. When I tried again the next morning, same thing, somehow even more packed. It's a super popular place for weekend brunches so if you want to snag a prized table, I recommend getting there early. Both times I went, the ladies behind the counter wasn't all that friendly (though I get it, they were juggling a ton of people coming in and out). I opted for the brown butter chocolate chip cookie; the blueberry babka; the swiss chard and spring pea bureka, and the sour cherry turnover. Of the four, my favorite was the babka - I ate it the day after and it still retained the perfect chew. The dollop of icing on top was well-balanced and creamy. The cookie was just okay (not very chewy, overwhelming butter flavor, which some people might enjoy) and the turnover's filling was way too sugary and artificial-tasting. I did not like my first bite of the bureka - it was way too bitter and vegetal, with no creaminess to offset it - but the taste grew on me the more I ate it and I loved the crispy phyllo dough. Some ricotta or feta would've made the pastry outstanding. I definitely want to try more things here - the breakfast sandwiches on Jerusalem bagels that I saw on nearly every table looked enticing. read more

One of the best iced coffees I've ever had! Flavorful but light and not a hint of bitterness, my favorite. There are a lot of amazing coffee shops in a two block radius but it will be hard to pass up K'Far moving forward. My laptop and I settled into a seat at ~2pm on a Wednesday. I've bopped into K'Far hoping to catch a seat on two separate occasions prior to this to no avail, so I was pumped to be able to sit, work, grab some lunch, and see what all the hype was about. I will say, this is NOT a work-from-home-away-from-home friendly spot, which I knew going in. Of course they want to turn over tables, do more volume, and get folks in seats. I was only planning to stay for a speedy 40 minute call then scoot, but I think the staff was a bit put off by my laptop's presence. That being said, service was fab and everyone here is incredibly friendly. I grabbed an egg and cheese jerusalem bagel and it was divine. I don't know why on earth I didn't think to grab a pastry but I guess it's a good excuse to get back there as soon as physically possible. Overall one of the top spots in Rittenhouse for a speedy lunch or coffee, hence the constant line and hype. Kfat is a Philadelphia signature cafe featuring Israeli cuisine . Every item I have had from here has been 100/10. Chef Mike Solomonov has done it again! The borekas are my absolute favorite- a stuffed pastry filled with a savory filling such as potatoes, feta cheese etc. I always get the 3 for $10 deal because I can never decide which flavor I want. The pastries rotate for the most part except for some signature items such as the brown butter chocolate chip cookie or the chocolate rugelach. The pistachio sticky him is my all time FAVORITE item from Kfar. It is warm, gooey and nutty and melts in your mouth with each bite. Tbh I haven't had any bad pastries so you can't go wrong with any of them but this particular one is my absolute favorite. The Jerusalem bagels are unique and delicious as well! Get the labneh trio if you want to try something different, although the egg and cheese is my go to item from this section. The salads and bowls are delicious as well for a more hearty option. My favorite drink to get is the Yemenite latte (available either hot or iced) - a rich aromatic blend of tea, coffee, spices & deliciousness. I always get this drink so haven't tried any other drinks here except the mimosa . Service is always quick & efficient despite the long lines on weekends. Ambiance is usually casual but welcoming. My boyfriend and I popped in for lunch the other day at K'Far and had such a nice experience! We ordered the salad with salmon, a grilled cheese, a pistachio cookie, and the egg and cheese sandwich. The salad with salmon was hands down the best thing we ordered, and I highly recommend trying it. The egg sandwich was good and had a nice spicy pesto that I enjoyed. I would pass on the grilled cheese and cookie next time. They were good, but nothing crazy. We will definitely be back! One of my favorite coffee shops in the city is K'Far! There outdoor patio is perfect for the sunny days of summer ahead of us! It is the perfect spot to grab a drink with a friend and catch up on life. I've also brought my laptop here before to do work and it's a great spot to do that as well. Was looking forward to a Jerusalem bagel w salmon and not only was it minimally filled, the salmon itself was almost cooked and had an opaque look as if it was no longer simply smoked. For 13 dollars this wasn't what I expected after seeing a recent photo of one that was amply filled. The grilled cheese bagel also had what I would call scant cheese and a ton of the olive filling that overwhelmed the balance. They were unable to make the Yemen ice tea but I subbed for a different one and it was very good. We did bring home 2 parties that our daughter loved.
