A KICKBACK COMEBACK!!! In my previous visit to Kickback Jacks I was unimpressed. This visit however was much different. The food was much improved! THE SPINACH OMELETTE was delicious. Spinach, tomatoes, onions, cheese. Cooked just right, not overcooked, not crunchy, tasty & only in need of a dash of salt. 5 Stars. THE HASHBROWNS were crispy outside, tender inside. Not bad at all. 4 Stars THE SQUAW TOAST was good but not anything special. Hey its toast for goodness sake! 3 Stars. THE CHICKEN APPLE SAUSAGE was excellent. Was it worth $7? Of course not but they were big & they were tender & tasty. Were it not for the cost I would've rated them 5 stars. Know how much sausage you can buy for $7? Crazy!!! 3.75 Stars. YAY!YAY!YAY! I love this place! It is way better than Corky's. The only thing Corky's has over this place is the fact that it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open 24/7 (although that is questionable, because it was closed one day last month.) So how did I finally end up here? I spent Saturday night in the O.C. hanging with friends, got home around 415AM, slept around 7AM (blame it on the cafe au lait) and a phone call at 830AM from my sister saying, "Do you want to go get breakfast?" And me being really tired said no. Then she calls back asking if she picked me up if I'd go... so I gave in, got up and got ready. She picked me up and with no idea where to go... she said "no" to all the regular places (that I've yelped about that are local.) Then she tells me she has to go drop off something PAST Rancho, so I said "OHHHHH!! Let's go to Kick Back Jacks! I've always wanted to go there!" and she agreed. So we get there and it was full but not packed. Which is good, because I was worried that we'd have to wait a while and I was hungry. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated. The decor is pretty nifty if you ask me. It has bold colors (red and some other color, sorry I really can't remember, but I do remember them being "bold".) It's not like some of those cafe's you go to and you can tell it's been there a while. This place looks well kept, a lot better than some of the places I've been too. When we sat down someone took our drink order and let us be, to contemplate what we shall order from the four page menu. Everything looked so good, I didn't know what to get. All the sudden my 1 1/2 hours of sleep was going away... like the wind. I eventually decided on the Garden Veggie Farm Skillet, but Frittata style. Our waitress suggested that because it adds color, as opposed to everything being "green". I forgot what my sister ordered, sorry all but it looked good! When I got the skillet, let me tell you... non greasy, or so it looked. It only looked 'greasy' because of the cheese that was covering it. When I bit into it, I kinda made a small sound ahaha I totally forgot there was yellow bell peppers in it that made it sweet and it caught me off guard. With everything inside it made for a good wake up call. The waitress also gave us a side of their salsa. So picture this (or look at the picture), a skillet with a blend of eggs topped with avocado, sour cream, tomatoes, home fries, onions, red and yellow bell peppers, mushrooms and Jack and Cheddar cheese, salsa and for some kick, Tabasco sauce. I mean really... how can you go wrong with all that? Also, their drinks are served in some pretty cool (tall) glasses. For my side I got the carrot-walnut muffin. I ate it the next day, but omg that muffin is love. You can see how homemade it is, with all the carrot shreds and all. I actually told my friend about this place the following Monday, and she went on Wednesday and she ordered the Belgium waffle and she said "You score! Where did you find this place?" (Okay so maybe not exactly like that but its 99% correct.) What else that was cute was right before we left, there was a giant bunny that came out and was talking with all the kids. It was so cute! Like all the other places, expect to pay at least $10 a person minimum. Realize this people, that when you go to a place that's on yelp, you're always going to pay at least that much. So if you're in the Rancho Cucamonga/Ontario area, you must check this place out. You need to go in the early AM though, because as soon as we left, there was a lot of people outside waiting. 3.5 Stars My husband and I had the day off and decided to try Kick Back Jack for breakfast. We arrived around 9:30AM and waited a few minutes before we were seated at a table. The person who seated us got our drink orders right away and brought them to our table. My husband and I decided to order the following: Meat Lovers Omelette ($13.99) Fresh Berries and Sliced Banana French Toast ($9.99) The only negative experience was that our server took a long time to take our order. We had already decided on what we wanted and were pretty hungry. The restaurant had other tables inside, but wasn't totally busy. It looked like a majority of the folks had already eaten and were ready to leave. The table next to us hadn't ordered yet either. My French Toast came with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and sliced bananas which was dusted with powdered sugar. I've never had French Toast made with sourdough bread, but the bread held up nicely and tasted good with the syrup. My husband's omelette had bacon, ham and sausage with Jack and Cheddar cheese. The one comment he made was that he didn't care for runny omelettes and I asked if he wanted to return it but he said it was fine and ate it anyway. The bill for two of us came out to $29.00. Haven't been here in a long time. Stopped by on this past Monday 1/2/23. They told us it would be a 40min wait. Like most men hearing a 40min wait my bf was about to pass out. I ignored him. Our 40 min wait turned into 15-20 min. Then he starts complaining about how he could be at HomeDepot yadda yadda ya! He wanted an omelet but I wanted the Baja shrimp & Chicken apple sausage skillet. Pancakes, waffles, chilaquiles (I know, right?) sandwiches, hamburgers, light eaters. I had a basic, my pancakes were light and fluffy and very tasty. Daughter's chicken sandwich looked yummy. We got there around 11am on a Thursday Morning. Waited for about 20 minutes to be seated, we got sat got some menus, the server, I didn't catch her name, but she's tall, on the younger side and slender came over briefly to ask if we knew what we wanted and we had said no as we had just sat down. She then proceeded to have us wait for 20 minutes until she came back around. She took our order, and left again not to be seen until the food was done. The food was mid. The best part was the pancakes but the hashbrowns had a funny texture, and the chicken salad just kinda looked thrown together but it wasn't very good. The food took around 25 minutes to come out. Order of pancakes, house salad, waffle combo, and a chicken salad. The sides of the waffle Combo came out first, with the pancakes and hashbrown side. It was another 10 minutes before they got our salads out. Funny right? The server also brought whatever dressing she wanted and said she would come back with the dressing I had asked for and then didn't. We finished our food, and she came around and we asked for a box, and she said she would be right out. She came back out and tended to some tables around us, no box, and then left. We waited a bit before I got up to ask for a box since the server didn't know what she was doing very obviously. To be honest there was 3 tables around us, 4 including us. Not super busy for her section, but it was obvious they don't have any sort of system, just looks unorganized. And it was $73 for what we ordered, no drinks. It's a solid good eats establishment. Currently called "Kick Back Jacks" but to is locals it will forever be known as BC CAFE The skillets are signature. They are large portioned served in a hot cast iron skillet and they come in all sorts of delicious creations. Their pancakes are A-Ok and they serve fantastic coffee and juices. I'd say among the best. The greatest thing you have to understand about KBJ is the fact that their prices might seem high but it is in accordance to their portion size. Every time I come here, my eyes underestimate the value and quality of a good cooked meal. I think to myself... "is that going to be enough?" I have always brought home left overs. And don't get me wrong, I'm not even mad. To take that goodness home to be reheated later... I'd say I figured out how to save money for breakfast and lunch. I really enjoy this place. It is better than average. I love their food selection and their staff is always ready to make you feel welcome. Though it feels like a hustle and bustle of a place, the servers are attentive to your needs. I think my mother-in-law's coffee was practically always full and she loved that! The carnitas skillet was really good they didnt skimp on anything, and there was plenty of meat. My only gripe would be that I said no mushroom and it came with mushroom. Came here for a quick breakfast after shift since I was pretty hungry and had always heard good things about this place. Came in around 815am on a Monday morning and i was seated right away at the bar area. This is a huge diner which can hold over 200 people and I hear its usually packed!!! So I was looking forward to their food. The bar area is quite tight with about 15 or so barstools, good thing there was only 3 people there. Multiple waitresses helping people out. Seems like theres a lot of regulars that come here often. The conversations made me feel as though I was transported back to a quieter, slower period of time. I ordered the meat lovers omelette which had bacon, ham and sausage with Jack and chedder cheese. With your choice of sides. I had the home fries and toast. I also ordered the fresh berries and banana flap jacks. It came with a bunch of rasberries, blueberries, and bananas on top with a light dusting of powdered sugar and whipped cream. The meat lovers was a healthy size of protein!! Flavors were ok, and they have multiple hot sauces and ketchup to increase flavors as needed. The pancakes were light and fluffy and were huge!!! 2 sides of syrup were much appreciated. If you ordered coffee, they have multiple creamers at table side you can utilize which is nice. Service was fast. Took less than 15 min for all the food to come out. Waitresses were attentive. And I was out in about 20 min with a large amount of left overs for lunch later today. Pro tip: if you're in a rush and you don't want to wait to pay, just cut in front of the line. They don't honor first come first serve, it's whoever gets to the counter first. There was a line of people waiting while other rude customers kept cutting in line, and none of the cashiers said anything. When it was my turn to pay, I asked if the line that people were waiting in, was really a line. The cashier played dumb and acted like she didn't just ring up a bunch of rude customers who cut in line. We used to go to the BC Cafe, renamed Kick Back Jack a few years ago, located in Claremont up until a few years ago for breakfast, when I got tired of getting rubbery scrambled eggs no matter how I emphasized "soft" . We were in the breakfast mood. Well, maybe I was. Not so much Mr. B. So I suggested giving this location a try. Just on the chance the chef here had not gone to the same culinary school for rubbery eggs. Corned beef hash combo. $5.95. Good deal. The corned beef was better than some, but definitely not homemade. Mushy meat mostly with the teeny cubed potatoes (yeah, you know. Open can and slop onto griddle). This deal came with one over medium fried egg. Tasted meh because of the questionable fat (shortening?) used to cook it. BUT....Really good humongous pancake, and with real whipped butter. The pancake....the only saving grace in my opinion. Pork chop lunch (price...?... too much). Two thin chops, hard to keep moist. Bland tasting. Came with veggies, mashed potato and brown gravy, a cup of cream of chicken soup. Salsa - a cooked version, but with good spicy flavors. Would not order either menu item again. This place has some of the the friendliest employees EVER. My bf and I were in the area to run some errands early morning and decided to grab some breakfast. I found this place through Yelp and decided to give it a try since there were so many good reviews. This came with corn beef hash, one egg, your choice of toast or pancake and a small juice(choice of OJ, apple, tomato, cranberry, and pineapple i think)..all for under $7.00. My bf got the chicken fried steak breakfast from the regular menu which came with this humongous slab of steak..i kid you not..it was like the length of my lower arm..2 eggs, and 3 huge pancakes..you can also choose home fries or toast i believe instead of pancakes. His entree was around $12. The food was delicious, however, i thought the corned beef hash was a tad too salty for my taste...but it went perfectly with the sweetness of the pancakes. The portions are huge and the prices are totally affordable. My bf had to help me finish my plate and he didn't even touch any of his pancakes, so we ended up taking it home. Service here was impeccable. Everyone was extremely friendly ranging from the different servers to bus boys. My bf's coffee mug was never empty and they were just really cheerful all around. We grabbed a togo menu on our way out and it was literally the thickness of a think booklet. Granted, there were ads in there, but still, there are lots of items to choose from. WOW This was my first time at Kickback Jack's and I will definitely be back! I sat at a counter with other patrons and watched the MLB Playoffs while eating! I devoured the Denver omelette with English muffin and home fries. This was enough for two people to eat, but the food was so delicious I'm glad I didn't have to share. Service was friendly and attentive from ALL the employees passing by, not just MY server. The English muffin was the size of my hand! The home fries were hot and crispy. Came here on a lark when I was helping out a brother from Australia who was trying to buy a computer off of OfferUp and had asked me to drive him down the hill to meet with the guy selling the laptop. We had gone to the designated meet up place but the guy flaked and never showed up so we decided we'd find a place to have breakfast before heading to the mall to do some shopping. I looked up a few places that would be close to Victoria Gardens shopping mall in Rancho Cucamonga and this place seemed interesting so we headed here. I was really hoping not to be disappointed after the guy no-showed us. The place is nice and spacious and we were sat down at tables after a few minutes of waiting. Dude, the menu is huge! There are so many choices and combinations of dishes that it took us a while to wade through everything but we finally decided on sharing the Prime Rib Scramble and another breakfast dish that included 3 Flapjacks, 2 eggs and bacon. The former dish also came with a bread choice so I picked English Muffins. Man, the portions are big here and there was more than enough food for us to share even when we were both very hungry. We split the 3 Flapjacks and both couldn't finish it. They were nice and fluffy and I had no complaints about it. The Prime Rib was tender and delicious and there was a nice size portion of it mixed with the other ingredients. Back to the food...we had a "special". $10.00 for 3 items of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, country fried potatoes and pecan pancakes. You can mix them up...we had 2 pancakes and our third item was potatoes. Why not?! We added the fresh squeezed o.j. Worth it!! Pancakes were filled with pecans but we added extra to put on top. I had a coffee. Really good. I also took home a pecan cinnamon roll (a bit stale). The size of a pancake was equal to four. I ate half my meal and took home the rest. The waffles were so soggy and underdone, they tasted like fresh batter. I was told they were wetter than the regular pancakes because of the peaches. Ooooh kay. The eggs?! Omg. Someone reviewed earlier saying they tasted like lard, and I was like "nah, y'all are trolling. Nobody can ruin eggs." Bruh. These were the oilest, nastiest eggs I've ever tasted. When we were complete one check in with host everybody are present. That's when they prepared our table. So they let us in and seated us separately. So we ask the server can you find us one whole table we want to seat together. Serve said no . She no table can seat us together she said repeatedly. We ask for the manager same answer nothing for us . We use to come here and they usually do something to accommodate us. Still no.
