When we picked the order up at the counter I asked the woman employee if I could get a side of gravy for my sandwich. Her reply was simply an eye roll and "I'll check the back". Despite the sandwiches and the brookie being delicious I don't know that we will be back. It is important to us as foodies and as consumers that we encounter welcoming service and not be made to feel like we are putting them out. Food great- service NOT.

Kickback Jack's in Ontario provides a pleasant dining environment and their pancakes stand out as the best part of their menu. The dining area appears clean while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere until customers take their seats. The restaurant maintains a restricted menu selection while enforcing unusual rules about food modifications. The establishment requires customers to purchase the full price for toast substitution with fruit. The establishment charges full price for both the small fruit side dish and the basic coffee which amounts to almost $7 and $5 respectively. The prices quickly escalate. Service was hit or miss. Our server delivered the correct order and served the food promptly before vanishing from sight. The staff failed to check on us and we needed to signal someone to get our drink refills. The sandwich I received lacked flavor and seemed haphazardly constructed. Our meal for two people reached $60 which seemed excessive given the average quality of the food. The establishment provides decent service but I would not choose to visit again. read more

Probably one of thee worst breakfast spots I've tried. The menu was misleading. When I received what I thought was biscuits and gravy, it was literally a plate of mushy potatoes with two microwave jumbo sized chicken nuggets on top. I was confused and asked to see the menu. I then asked where the biscuits were. "Underneath" I was told. Why on earth would you serve mushy potatoes on top of biscuits gravy?! Why isn't this disclosed in the description? While the servers were friendly, the service was slow as hell. Aside from the bullet hole in the glass window by our table, a stained bar menu with mysterious brown liquid on it and overpriced mush, Kickback Jacks leaves much to be desired. Highly Over rated, I came here twice, the first time was horrible but my mom said to give it another try so I went with her and some family, the second time, everyone was disappointed, they got my order wrong and when they brought the right order, my ground beef was a hamburger patty that was chopped up and put into my food, it didnt taste good at all, they served my mom a shrimp taco instead of a beef one, She is Allergic To SHRIMP..good thing we noticed. The service was just ok, nothing great or very friendly, maybe this place use to be good and that would explain all the good reviews, but I don't do third time is a charm, twice is good enough for me. I had half a veggie sandwich with a small ceasar salad and french fries and Ice tea, my meal was on the "just right" menu which was smaller portions if you are not as hungry and it was roughly about 7 bucks. It said that it came with a free dessert (which was a 3oz ramekin of tapioca pudding you dont get a choice). My friend had a philly steak sandwich with a salad and Coke. My bf had a HUGE pancake, with eggs and ham. He added a side of homestlye potatos, (which were really good) and a strawberry lemonade, and the bill was 42.00. read more

It's OK really. First time there and it was highly recommended by my sister. And, I should've known because our taste in food and just about everything else since we were kids is totally the opposite of what I think is excellent. She has more of a mediocre taste. Anyway nothing was up to par. The silverware, glasses and table were all dirty, luckily I always bring sanitary wipes: it took about 20 min for the server to take our order...sure it seems the portions are a lot but a bit too much for my taste. I had a soup recommended by the server and it was awful, exchanged it for a different soup and that was a little better. read more

I ate twice at this place and I will willingly. The row could be a deterrent even if I Have found very little (I ate there once at 12:30 and another at 19:30) but the location is very impressive and it is almost taken for granted the presence of squirrels that wander around looking for some leftovers. The sandwich is really delicious. I tried the cheeseburger and fries and judgment is positive for both. These are big and plentiful, with no trace of oil. Recommended. read more

This is a great place to eat for breakfast. My favorite menu item is the stuffed flapjacks and they have a variety of good items to choose from. But, what keeps this from being a 5 star review is that this place is expensive compared to the competition in Rancho. And recently, their prices went up. I'm sure it has to do with the minimum wage increase but that's too bad, I'll just have to tip servers 15% now, instead of the 20%. read more

One of my families favorite breakfast spots. Love the huge pancakes and breakfast skillets. Also love that they give you a really large glass of OJ. I hate going to places that don't give refills and they give you the smallest glass. Anyways solid menu so you won't be disappointed. I knocked them down to 4 starts because while I love their pancakes their syrup is horrible. Super watery! I started sneaking in my own. Problem solved! read more

Once again the food i had to find without planning ahead properly failed we went to this place expecting good things from the reviews and got odd tasting biscuits and gravy, raw in the middle hashbrowns, burnt bacon, soggy bland pancakes(isnt flapjacks the thing here?) and a mediocre waffle with some decent chicken strips.
