Some of the best fried and flakey catfish, I've ever had in my life. The chorizo was very flavorful - the right amount of spice. Service was good and attentive. This restaurant, you order first and pay, then find seating and your food will be delivered to you. Ambiance was so relaxed. Exactly what i wanted to experience. Price: reasonable price for a breakfast meal for two. It was able $50 including coffee. Highly recommended! Decent prices and delicious food! I loved the Loco Moco and ube coffee here. The service was awesome as well! I wish I came back before we left but I'll be sure to come back on my next visit. The restaurant is being renovated so you'll be eating outside next to the pool. We got tons of recommendation to try out this place when we come to Maui. This did not disappoint, best breakfast places I've ever had!! My boyfriend got the prime rib loco moco and updated to the pork rice which was a special. The gravy really hits differently in Hawaii (we are from Vegas). I got the pork fried rice and eggs. My god, it was so good. And they gave a pretty big serving, I couldn't finish all my food. My overeasy eggs were just perfect. We also got a side of buttermilk pancakes. I wish I got a picture before devouring the whole thing. The butter was creamy and didn't turn into melted butter immediately. The syrup they give me, FIRE. We did decide to order it to go and eat at the beach since the dining area was packed. Literally a quick 2 mins drive. We got the order under 10 mins and that's with the place fully packed. You order at the counter then the bussers will seat you and someone will bring you your food if you've never been here. You'll have to grab your drinks yourself at the counter. We come here for breakfast usually on Sundays or when in Kihei. There's lots of choices and the portions are shareable. Order inside before you sit down. Service if fast and friendly. There is only outdoor seating available. The beach and park is across the street. It has a relaxed and casual vibe. It can get hot but the umbrellas help. This year we decided to eat here for our last meal in Maui before boarding our plane.We checked out of the condo and arrived here around 11. Since we love their breakfast food, we split an omelet and Banana Macadamia French toast. Of course, we had to cover the french toast with coconut syrup! We had found Kihei through social media, we decided to give it a try and were impressed. Although the food was a little heavy it was so good and you definitely get a bang for your buck! The pancakes were so fluffy and got better within each bite and you definitely gotta try it with the coco syrup. Moco loco was really good but in our opinion, the gravy was a little too salty for us but overall delicious! They do have a $2 up charge for everything/anything eggs due to the shortage. The service was okay, just kinda straight to the point of "what can I get you" we did wait a good minute but they also had started to get flooded. We accidentally came upon the newer restaurant on our way to the older restaurant and we're happy that we did when we arrived around 9 AM there was no line at all and like all the other Maui restaurants you pre-order your meal, find a table,pick up your drinks at the the drink counter and then wait for your name to be called and they come and bring you your breakfast. We had French toast and omelette and were all satisfied with the meal and service. I had seen an Instagram post showing the specials and although they didn't have the seafood omelette, I was still satisfied with the omelette that I ordered. I won't divulge the address, hoping that it won't be as popular and attract more big lines. The newer location has a more modern atmosphere that was clean . we will definitely be back here again for breakfast in a few years hoping that the word doesn't get out because when we left the long lines began. The menu has many options so there is something from everyone. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict and I ordered the Loco Moco with Spam. My last visit to Maui was 14 years ago, and I hand fond memories of eating at the Kihei Caffe. It had a laid back feeling with a friendly staff. Now that I'm back on the island, I decided to have my first breakfast at Kihei Caffe. Well, I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed in the experience. There's still a line..no problem..the inside has been updated with about 3 TV screens, showing their menu items, but the friendliness and personal charm is missing. My wife and I approached the register, I smiled and provided our choice and there was no aloha friendly warmth. After we ordered and walked back outside, guys were telling people where to sit and instructing people not to seat themselves, but they seemed aloof and indifferent. When my meal arrived, it felt far from my previous experiences from Kihei Caffe. My plate had two eggs, 2 and a half pieces of bacon and some home fries that were cold potatoes that looked and had the texture like yesterday's steak fries. The overall portions left more to be desired. The meal was okay, but definitely not the best breakfast experience to be had on the island. Kihei Caffe has been part of my Maui memories since I was about 12 years old. I am now 33, and every single time I return to the island, I make it a point to stop here for a cinnamon roll. The lines are almost always long, but it is absolutely worth the wait and they move fairly quickly. The cinnamon rolls are epic. Do not skip one, even if you have to grab it to go. They are that good. I also love the parfait and the use of local fruit. It is such a fresh and perfect way to start the morning before heading out on a big adventure. The staff is always very sweet, and the location right across from the beach makes it even better. I cannot remember if it is still cash only, but I would recommend bringing cash just in case. If you are staying on the south side, Kihei Caffe is an absolute must. read more

Ambiance - I came here on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was decently busy and bustling for brunch/lunch. You order/pay for your food at the counter, and the staff bring out your food, calling your name. The staff always seemed to be really busy, and if you want to get their attention you need to say something as opposed to just standing in front of their counter trying to get their attention with your eyes. I had the loco moco with fried rice and kalua pork. The food was so mid. They charged extra $3 for fried rice & extra $2 for any dishes involving eggs, so my total somehow came to $26 pre tip (I think the pretax price is $16 or $17?). They also gave me overcooked hardboiled eggs (looks like they tried poaching the eggs) instead of sunny side up as requested. The dish was really heavy, and the only silver lining was the big portion of my dish. My friends got some dish with fish and fried banana peppers -- the fried banana peppers were sourly yummy so I liked those, but the fish itself was underwhelming. They also got the ube mochi pancakes which was a special, but the pancakes were void of any ube flavor--they were just sweet with mochi texture, and the color was purple, but ube flavor was almost nonexistent. Overall, there are so many other options nearby or in Maui, and I would not recommend Kihei Caffe. read more

Four years ago, I would've told you Kihei Caffe had the best loco moco on the islands. This time, I came back after a whale watching tour, excited to repeat that win. Kihei Caffe at Maui Coast Hotel has long been one of our favorite spots for an early breakfast. We were excited to bring our nieces here while they were visiting us in Maui. Apparently, this is a go-to spot on Maui an we were not disappointed. There was so much on the menu here that I wanted to try, but I went with my classic eggs benedict. My husband got the fried rice and the rest of the family had a variety of dishes as well that we all loved. Perfect for morning breakfast or brunch with a small or large party (we were a party of seven). We had a lunch reservation scheduled for 12 and we were so full from breakfast we had to go light on lunch. Service at the register was nice but we do have to complain about the man seating us. We didn't know that there was a person actually seating the parties so after half of us ordered we went to get a table. The signage should be clearer to wait to be seated because the guy approached us with the wrong tone. Then, he seated us inside in the back with all the old memorabilia when we preferred somewhere outside. The food is definitely worth it but be careful of the guy at the host stand. Then they moved us inside, where there were tiny bugs that I think were mosquitoes. Not a fan that they charge for water, which is $2 and comes room temperature! We ordered the fruit and yogurt, granola bowl and the local moco. We found a seat at their patio seating. They will call out your name and they bring it out to you. I'd highly recommend getting there early (as close to opening as possible), as you'll beat the crowds ANDDDD you'll get to see the scenic sunrise. My husband and I shared an order of banana macadamia nut pancakes, a side of eggs over easy, and a side of their homemade spam. Tiktok hyped up their coconut syrup so I knew we had to try it with the pancakes, and it was good! The syrup had a more subtle coconut flavor than I was expecting, but it was still a great addition and not too sweet (the mac nuts helped balance out the overall sweetness of the dish). The spam was perfectly flavorful and crispy and was the exact savory component I needed in a breakfast. The eggs were just eggs lol.
