I was really craving soondubu so this hit the spot. I really liked their banchans, they were all perfectly seasoned and spicy. The soondubu wasn't as spicy or seasoned as I hoped for. It has a good portion of seafood. The shrimp was deshelled and I typically like the ones when it still has the shell and it contains the nice juices. The service was okay. You can tell they were hustling. Three cooks in the back and one host/waiter manning the front as well as to go orders. Though I can appreciate that, it was slow. It's a smaller restaurant so during dinner time, it's going to take a while to get a table. And even if you ordered ahead as they would encourage you, you would think you'll get your food pretty quickly when you get seated, that's not that case. Or you would think you'll get the banchans to hold you over while you wait--nope.

we had a pivot on plans and ended up here at kimchi house. you can order and sit OR sit and have order taken. might be easiest to do the first. it seems like a cozy family owned restaurant, very casual. We ordered seafood pancake, kalbi, pork belly, bibibam hot stone bowl, japchae, kimchi soondubu soup. all were very homey tasting, wish the seafood pancake was crispier (personal preference). we were also served with banchan (side dishes) all were tasty and great additions to our meal. if you're looking for casual quick bite, this may be your spot!

Really good food at a very low price point for what it is. At other korean restaurants, I'd expect to pay nearly $30 for each dish, but this place was under $20. Came here with some friends and had a great time. They also have kloud beer, which is authentic korean imported stuff. Everything tasted great, especially the pork belly, which was marinated. It's a small restaurant with not a lot of seating. A lot of their service seems to come from take out, so the front of the restaurant was packed with people waiting for their takeout order. It can also be a bit annoying to take a sit down order because you're contending with the people who want to take a takeout order -- they don't have waiters to take sit down orders.

Kimchi House is so on point with food with prices and the flavor omg!!! I literally want to try their entire menu because each of the dishes are out of the world. I have tried their kimchi soondubu soup - it comes with its small plates and the flavor omg - spicy but so flavorful. I went back there to try their hot stone binbimbap and boy it didn't disappoint. Great service and they have hot barley drink as complimentary so cool. Also everything is under 20 usd and the quantity is a lot.

Super delicious food in a cozy little restaurant! We went here while visiting a friend and everything we tried was awesome. The kimchi pork pancake was our favorite ~ know that it is large and shareable! We also loved the pork belly. Staff was friendly and super accommodating trying to seat us and others in a small space while also managing the register. Great local spot that I hope others will support. Next time we're visiting, we will definitely be back!

This spot was so delicious! I've been looking for some authentic and yummy Korean food around Seattle and haven't had too much luck. However, this is definitely one that I'll bookmark. We came around 1:30 on a Sunday and all the tables were full but slowly clearing out. They were nice to let us order in advance while we waited for a table so that they could get started on the preparation. I got the pork belly which came with a bowl of rice and all the side dishes. I do find it a little odd that the banchan doesn't come with all the items on the menu. All the side dishes were so good and there was a great amount of variety too. My favorites were the fishcakes, sweet potato, and pickled radish - those were the more outstanding ones. I also absolutely loved the pork belly! It was grilled to perfection and the fattiness paired so well with the meaty parts. There was also a nice soy glaze that was so good with the meat and rice. We were able to get refills of the banchan too which was nice. Service was sweet and food came out quick and was all so tasty! We all loved what we ordered. I'll definitely be back to try more!

Someone picked up several plates for a picnic so all I know is what I tasted. Don't know exactly what they ordered but took some photos. We eat a lot of Korean food here in Honolulu, but I could taste a difference in this food. Don't know exactly how to describe it, but it was very good. Good enough that I asked the name of the place, took photos, and posted this review so I'll remember to go back when I'm in Seattle!

THIS IS NOT A KIMCHI HOUSE, IT IS A KIMCHI HOME. As a husbandless woman traversing the plains of Seattle, I discovered a universally acknowledged truth here: any person in possession of at least $40, must be in want of an entree and appetizer at Kimchi House. This restaurant embodies comfort, home, and warmth. Every bite I took had me feeling like food critic Anton Ego in Ratatouille (2007) when he was eating the ratatouille. I transcended the mortal plane when I tasted the seafood pancake and felt one with the universe as I ate the spicy chicken entree. Every piece of kimchi, fish cake, and radish sent off fireworks in my mouth that can only be due to complete, total bliss. The food at Kimchi House will make you grateful for every choice that has lead you to this moment in your life. In the words of Chappell Roan, I was knee deep in the passenger seat eating the leftovers on the drive home. And no, it was not casual.

All the flavors of Korean dishes you want. Crispy rice in the hot bibimbap , bulgogi was flavorful. Great banchan! And can I say I think every restaurant Should offer free hot tea. They offered barley. Great service. Street parking only, some seating inside and out, this place would be worth parking to walk a few blocks to get to.

Yo. Pork belly. Win win win win win. All day win. White rice with the sides. Feels like an 120 minute movie. I don't need the series. I don't want the 90 min pop edition. I bet the book reads really well but I won't read it cuz this version had the best cast and execution. Well done. Great service. Simple ambiance. Thanks Kimchi House.

Been here a couple times now and love it each time. I always get the stone pot bibimbap which is delicious. My bf gets the bulgogi which he also really likes. Portions are pretty generous as well. Not too crowded the times I've gone and staff is always great. Pretty casual seating and they have barley tea and water that are self serve. Overall, would recommend!

The menu and experience differ between lunch and dinner, and this is my lunch review. Simply put, lunch is much more casual and affordable than dinner (You order lunch scanning the QR code at the table). If you're on a budget, you can eat lunch here for less than $20. I went here for lunch twice during my business trip last month and here's what I ordered: - Seafood Tofu Soup - $17.50 - A seafood soondoobu (순두부) with a generous helping of soft tofu, shrimp, mussels and clam, served with rice. Delicious, refreshing and not spicy-I bet they could make it spicy if you asked. I enjoyed the texture from the cabbage bits. - Seolleongtang (설렁탕) - $15.50 - Oxtail bone broth served with potato starch noodles and brisket, comes with salt and green onion already added(typically doesn't at other Korean restaurants). High-quality ingredients and flavor, a great comfort food with a generous serving of brisket. - Shaved ice dessert (빙수) - $9.00 - A great combination of cinnamon, ginger cream and fried rice puffs. Delicious and different than other Korean shaved ice desserts I've had that typically have red bean and overly sweet ingredients. If you're on the fence about coming here, maybe try out lunch first. Lunch is more casual, affordable and simpler than dinner, but is delicious and high-quality. You should come here for dinner too, and I'll post about my dinners here soon.

I dislike the more common 'elevated' where a restaurant makes changes such as swapping meat cuts from traditional recipes to something wagyu without any added thought or creativity in the process. Not at Paju. They are Koreans elevating Korean dishes. The dishes are refined and well-honed. Their creativity shows they know what they are doing. Plating is thoughtful. The restaurant itself is modernly elegant, great for date nights. Note the restaurant is quiet and elegant; perhaps they have a private room for loud celebrations. Staff was helpful with my questions. Food was available in a timely manner. The Food: Octopus, $27 - 5 Stars Served with smoked trout roe and dashima beurrie blanc sauce, this dish is visually attractive and absolutely delicious! One of our top dishes of the night. Paju Fried Rice, $27 - 4 Stars Cooked with kimchi, bacon, squid ink, and quail egg, this dish is one of their most popular dishes. I find squid ink to have a subtle earthy type of sea-umami flavor. The bacon and kimchi are a touch stronger in this combination. It's a good dish, but amongst our five dishes, this one ranked the lowest. Mushrooms, $23 - 5 Stars Served with parmesan cheese shaved so thin it's translucent, white kimchi, and truffle aioli, this dish is the bomb! Excellent for the mushroom lovers, it might convert mushroom haters, too. Lol. Another top dish of the night. Branzino Gui, $51 - 4 Stars Served with four banchan, this dish stands out for its execution - impeccably grilled and plated. The fish is very tender and perfectly cooked. I do think it is a bit plain for the price. Branzino is fairly common in different parts of the world. Ranked 4th for the night. Duck - 5 Stars Duck breast is served with a slice of duck and pistachio pastry plus four banchan. The duck is super tender. The pastry is clever utilizing other bits of duck meat. The simple sauce is very important, adding flavor to the pastry. Also delicious.

The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

The first time I visited, the quality of the meat cuts didn't impress me, and the soups lacked depth of flavor. I'm not talking about needing more salt--the broth itself just tasted flat. When you're paying close to $30 for a bowl of soup, I think it's reasonable to expect a higher level of quality and care to ingredients. The second visit was a mixed experience. To be fair, I was in the wrong. There is a clearly posted policy stating that your entire party must be present before being seated. My group was about seven minutes away, and since I had already checked in on Yelp and there were only two parties ahead of me with no one physically waiting, I asked if I could be seated and order while I waited. I had already been standing inside for about 10 minutes. I was told that although tables were available, seating me ahead of the other parties on the waitlist would be unfair. I understood the reasoning, but she had also asked prior for my order. Her explanation left me confused so i sheepishly said I understood the policy. She already seemed upset by the time i had gotten there. Sometimes we have off days i get that. This place is clearly hit or miss, I've got friends who absolutely swear by it. For me, though, it wasn't anything special and didn't justify the price. If you're looking for Korean food in the area, I've had better experiences with higher-quality dishes elsewhere, especially in Lynnwood.

I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often.
