The food in the steam trays looked like it had been sitting there for a while, but luckily they were making a fresh batch of chow mein when I ordered, so I was able to get that straight from the kitchen. I went with the orange chicken and chow mein. The orange chicken had a pretty good flavor, but the texture was a little rubbery. The chow mein was interesting because the noodles were a bright orange color, almost like carrots, which I'd never seen before. Even so, they actually tasted pretty good. The portion size was decent, although I've had bigger plates at other Chinese fast food places. The highlight of my visit was the lady working behind the counter. She was incredibly friendly and genuinely sweet, and that made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Overall, it wasn't the best Chinese food I've had, but it wasn't bad either. But other than that food is mostly alway prepared good or made to order Tilapia plate or shrimp Fried rice if you don't mind waiting. At first glance the place really looks like a hole in the wall. The menu was not the clearest and most understandable menu in the world. The staff that work there are very nice and patient. I had the orange chicken, kung pao chicken, chicken teriyaki, beef with broccoli, eggrolls, and chow mein. I thought the food was very flavorful and not too greasy. What can I say about King Bowl. It's "generic" Chinese food. With that being said it's the best generic Chinese food I've ever had. It's cheap and good. Good luck finding a $7 plate of food in the area that can't even be contained by the container because they stuff it to the max. It's survived the test of time. The teriyaki chicken and chicken wings are the stars. I initially came back all the way here from the valley after news that the illustrious ok Chinese in eagle rock closed due to a vermin infestation lol this was the only place i knew that did the same style wings in the area in mass quantity.
