What was cold should have been warm. What was room temperature should have been cold. What was mushy and muted should have been crisp and flavorful. They serve crab and king crab legs BUT have no cracker- when we asked for one they recommended using our metal fork to hit it. Best Los Angeles Asian buffet. Don't know of any Asian AYCE buffet in the city of LA so we were happy to follow a recommendation to go to King Buffet where we ended up for lunch on Saturday arriving a few minutes before opening. The first wow was the fact they had plenty of free parking. Even though we arrived early there was a line of about 20 people ahead of us but it moved quickly as they opened. The next wow was their upfront pricing for the AYCE meal including drinks, but also the mention of no expected tips while at same time saying they automatically include a 10% service charge for the staff. It's great they also offered a senior discount for our family friend. The lady at the entrance counter was friendly as she took our payment made before entering the dining area where there was plenty of tables to choose. Then there's the wow with the food selections. There was hot food choices starting off with several types of soup, then entree options of chicken, beef, fish and variety of other seafood such as crab, shrimp, mussels, crawfish, squid, etc. along with steamed or fried rice, noodles, dumplings and so on. Past that counter were various sushi selections then after that were the desserts with cakes, pies, etc including an ice cream bar with a lot of flavors. Then past that were the salads and fruit. And if that wasn't enough they also have a Mongolian bbq counter where you select your ingredients from the many choices including short ribs, and they cook it up for you. The food and all those choices were overwhelmingly good. We also found the service to be good. It was only a few minutes from time we sat down that our drinks were brought to us. If we needed more drinks it was quick to get more. Speaking of drinks, another part we enjoyed is their coffee machine that there's a touch screen to select from different choices of coffee such as latte, cappuccino, etc and flavors to add. The price, taste, selections, and service, it was a complete wonderful experience at King Buffet and we'll definitely be coming back. read more

I don't know why I keep coming here. The food is on point maybe but the service is so bad. I have never been denied a napkin in my life. I usually put a napkin on my shirt so I don't get my clothes dirty. So I asked our waitress Emily for an extra napkin and she said no, to use the ones in the box on the table. I replied they are very small and I can't use them for my shirt. She still said no to use those. So I asked her well can you bring me some from the ones you wrap your silverware with she still said no and walked away. I couldn't believe it... she never refilled our drinks. been here for years and it's generally what you expect from such a joint. Food is acceptable, waiters stand on the sides and will overlook your table. Drinks are never refilled unless you chase them down and ask for it. However, the last visit, the front desk lady walks up to my friend eating and rudely tells him there is a 2 hour limit and they will charge us again. No hello, excuse me? No smile. Very accusatory. This is new to us (after all these years) and on top of that, with a threat? We left swiftly and on the way out, I told her the way she talked to my friend was rude and she could have been nicer about it especially since we have been here for years. On top of that, before they started the mandatory tip, we would tip at least 30%. She rudely said, "I wasn't rude!" So I told her, it was exactly his tone that you spoke to my friend. I'm thinking, what did my friend do to her for her to approach us with such an attitude. She kept saying, "I don't think I was rude!" glaring at me. We went for a weekday dinner and it was busy. The food was coming out hot and freshly made. It isn't a gourmet buffet but it's definitely a good deal for the price especially if you like crab. I see a lot of people complaining about the fact that you have to pay first but I don't see it as a problem at all as that how it works in Vegas. The choices and selections of the buffet are HUGE. You walk on and on down the aisle with more and more selection. The Dover sole with all the lemon trimmings is only one choice of 20 others that I want so I have returned for the take away numerous times and brought friends to party and celebrate. The guy at here noodle station looked upset , he skipped me 3 times after I had put my plate he looked at me and still skipped me. So that was upsetting, desserts were the only thing that was good. Sushi & the Soup Bar wasn't fresh and felt like it has been frozen. Their fries is top tier almost tasted like Popeyes, it was REALLY good. Some foods like calamari & tempura had probably some msg so I was kinda dizzy after eating. The Orange Chicken is good but I didn't get the chance to have their kung pao chicken as well. I had a terrible dessert experience and their piece of cake had a bitter aftertaste. But the ice cream bar is good. You just get what you pay for a cheap buffet.
