Combo #1, brisket, wagyu and bulgogi!
    Toshi I.

We were in the mood for KBBQ during the World Cup games. The parking was surprisingly available here in Ktown on a week night. I really wanted short ribs but our friendly server recommended the best value which was Combo #1, brisket, wagyu and bulgogi. Did not dissappoint at all. Excellent quality meat too. It also came with cheesy corn and kimchi fried rice at the very end. We loved the entire experience as we were also able to catch the World Cup games with tv monitors on both sides behind us. Nice! Great place to chill. Highly recommend!

OK, there are a lot of Korean barbecue place with all different price point and meat quality. This place, definitely deserve a five star because First, their price point is good, we order a combo for six people ($200) and we were really full, the combo came with the steam egg and soup that's a great value. The meat is not exceptional but I think it's great for the price. Second, they have their own private parking, how awesome is that?, I hate looking for parking in LA or some places force you to do valet parking! Third, they cook for you , the services post office how may I help you? Hello oh hello Terrence yeah what happened? Oh yeah yeah yeah sure OK got it. OK no worries. Bye were great. The waiter was very polite.

I found it surprising, honestly a bit suspicious, that this spot has a 4.7-star average rating on Yelp, given that our food and experience were subpar, and mid at best. We got the large standard pork and beef combo set, which was enough food for 5 people. They charge extra for basically any refills of the larger side dishes, including if you want any rice, lettuce, or rice paper. Unfortunately, having traveled here from the east coast, I was really looking forward to eating at a KBBQ spot that had rice paper, but unfortunately, that was the ONE thing that they ran out of. I also found it a bit odd that a KBBQ spot was charging a 3.5% fee for using a credit card, considering I haven't seen that anywhere else, and that it was a $1 fee for any takeout boxes as well. There were only a few tables with customers, so it was very quiet for a Saturday night. This was very surprising considering they have such a high Yelp rating, and even so, the service was pretty slow, so we ended up having to cook a majority of our own food on the grill. None of the meats were marinated it seemed, so the overall flavor was lacking. Just nothing wowed us that night, which was really unfortunate given that this was our only KBBQ meal during this trip to LA.

Great kkbq combo sets! We got the beef and pork combo B for a party of 6, and it was perfect! The meats were perfectly marinated and absolutely delicious paired with generous side dishes! The portion size was great for sharing!

Service was spectacular. We ordered the medium combo (b) for $164. There was 4 in my party and we loved almost everything. The meats were great, there was so much food. It kept coming. Corn cheese loved, banchan almost all were perfect. We know to ask for lettuce and rice wraps, they are a must. Free parking is almost unheard of in LA. And it was my birthday and because we made a reservation I got a free bottle of sparkling wine. Really loved this place. We dropped $250 plus a $40 tip but we had a great time.

Parking is a plus! Easy to get reservation via Yelp. This is not AYCE but its combo sets are value for money. We had combo A $110 for 2 people. It came with Wagyu steak and thin brisket, bulgogi, steamed egg, bean paste stew, kimchi fried rice and corn cheese. This's enough for 3 people. All the food items are great except the Wagyu steak which is not tender even we asked for medium rare. And the kimchi fried rice was bland.

Came here on a Friday pm at around 7pm. This place was fairly empty. It has its own parking lot to share with grand spa and medical center. Lots of parking. The place started to fill fill up by the time we left. We got the combo A which is small beef combo. It has a decent amount of meat for 2 people. The marinated galbi rib was good. Everything is quality meat. Ice cream in fridge for purchase. Would recommend.

I found Hanu Korean BBQ since it was close to our DTLA office and looked like it can host our group of 10 ladies who loooovvee kbbq. One of my friends also gave the restaurant a heads up and make a reservation for us. We all had a great experience and left with happy smiles and full tummies. They split our group up in two tables, seated directly next to each other with a split in the middle. Totally good with us and we were able to easily get out to use their restroom since we weren't in one whole row. My side got the B Combo (L) for $204.99, made to enjoy for 5 people. It came with Wagyu Steak, Marinated Bone-in short Rib, Bulgogi, Brisket, Pork Belly, Pork Jowl, Marinated Shrimp, Mushrooms, and Vegetables. Big kudos for the brains behind the menu, because it was the perfect amount for our group of 5. We all left full, but not too full that we couldn't fit a dessert in. If you're group of friends doesn't have a chef or just want to blab all night, they got you. Their servers will cook and cut all the meat for you to enjoy. I don't go to a lot of kbbq places without cooking my own meat, so this was definitely a treat. Totally worth it so you can focus on talking to your friends. Their servers are great and tell us when it's time to eat and have the timing of the cook down to the T. They are also very friendly, super fast, and checked on our big group from time to time. The restaurant has their own huge parking lot, which was pretty empty on a Tuesday night. Lucky us. It saved our group the hassle to find street parking and its a bonus for not stressing about where to park. They also have a small fruit stand out front, which I regret not purchasing ahead of time since they were closed after our dinner. I'll know better next time! I would definitely recommend more people to visit Hanu Korean BBQ for their delicious KBBQ combo meals, great service, and convenient parking. 10 out of 10 would come again!

Hanu Korean BBQ restaurant is my unexpected destination that I found it I would add in my favorite place for delicious Korean food. The service from Nina and Danny made me warmed on my birthday. Such a lovely place!

We came for a late lunch on a weekday around 3 PM, and there were only a few tables occupied. We ordered a combo--overall, the quality was just okay, and only one of the meats really stood out to me. The side dishes, like the kimchi fried rice, pancake, and tofu soup, were disappointing. The server cooked the meat for us quite quickly, which made it feel a bit rushed--like she just wanted to get it done. Because of that, we didn't really get to enjoy the meal at our own pace.

Cozy kbbq vibes with good quality meats. Went for a bro hangout mid-week. Theres a parking lot for the building with valet. We ubered so no biggie - but saw people parking on their own as well. Had reservations - was a pretty busy place, but sat immediately. The decor was just like a normal mom n pop kbbq / Korean restaurant - no fancy digs. You have to make a point to flag down the staff - they are running around all over the place. Once we did so, we ordered the medium beef combo along with some beer and soju. The drinks came first - your standard fare. They do have barley tea if you ask for it. The banchan arrived shortly afterwards. Also your standard dishes - along with a salad. As part of the combo, you do get corn cheese and kimchi soup. Then the meats came. The staff do cook and cut for you - so no need to worry about dealing with it. The meat was good quality for the price. There are some wagyu cuts, but even the brisket is meaty and definitely not freeze dried vibes. All in all - would def come back, think it's a good bang for your buck non-AYCE place.

I love Hanu!! I had the pleasure of coming in for various birthdays, occasions & casual dining and always had a pleasant experience! This was the first time dining in their new patio area! I guess it was under construction for awhile. But it's equipped with 2 TV's on each end so everyone has a good view despite where you're sitting! So thoughtful (: Food: delicious! There's so many kbbq spots in the surrounding area but we always find ourselves at Hanu! It seems like they prioritize great cuts of meats! And the other items on the menu are also so good! The servers cook for you so you can enjoy yourselves. They also serve a nice array of banchans in tasteful dishware! Appreciate the details! Service: great! It can get busy but the servers know what they're doing and it seems like they have their system down! The dishes come to your table via a cute robot and as mentioned, servers cook the meats for you during your meal. They switch out the grill accordingly and it's always nice to know that they're observant towards the customer's needs! And there is this super sweet woman named Viv at the front host stand who always greets us so warmly! She also checks in to see how our dining experience is going and i appreciate how personable she is! Restrooms: available for customers! The women's restroom has 2 stalls and it's always clean! It also has a full length mirror for a mid meal fit checkkkkk Parking: there's ample parking! There's an attendant there but every time I drove, they directed me to park anywhere and it was free! I do love the fact that it's located right before the heart of ktown. Which worked out for me when I went in for dinner + watch korea World Cup game. Didn't have to deal with extra congestion. Highly recommend! See you guys again real soon!!

We had a good lunch here! Upon curb appeal there's a hit to be desired as the large building has construction, has openings on the main floor and upper floors/signage is for doctor/medical offices. BUT there is free private lot parking which is a plus! Entering the restaurant is large and the booth tables are long and comfortable. The beef quality was excellent! We like every cut we got and the pork belly was good as well. Only thing we would skip next time is the intestines. They have some TVs to watch the gams and the banchan was also pretty good. Price was not too bad too for the high quality!

Me and friend started with drinks at the bar - I got the hwachae milk punch, a pretty pink sip! My friend got the espresso martini, their take made with cold brew soju, Korean coffee mix, and makgeolli. Both were fun, well-balanced ways to kick off the night. Their honey butter chips were pretty delectable - fresh-cut potato, fried until crunchy and airy, then drizzled with a honey butter glaze that channels those nostalgic honey butter chip snacks. The sauce was good but can definitely be a sweetness overload, so if you don't have a sweet tooth, I would avoid ordering. Got the pine nut cold noodles, which was refreshing on a summer day - white noodles in a chilled soy milk broth with pine nut. The pine flavor was pretty subtle, so if you're into that, definitely get this, but for me it was just okay. The pork jowl was delicious though - comes with chili crisp and garlic rice, and we ended up taking some home because we couldn't finish it all! Service was great - we sat at the bar and got to watch the bartender work and chat. Parking can be hit or miss; you can either park in the several garage structures around ktown or the small paid lot in the Danbi plaza, but we came on a Thursday night and it was still pretty busy. We went for the DineLA menu. We had reservations and were immediately seated. Overall, the restaurant had a modern, relaxed vibe. Our server was very personable and helped me choose the Kimchi Mule, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The food started rolling out right away, beginning with the Honey Butter Potato Chips. They were good, but probably not something I would order again. Next came the kimchi watermelon and spicy sashimi noodles, and I was impressed with both. I had a hard time imagining what kimchi watermelon would taste like and was surprised by how much I liked it. The spicy sashimi noodles were the standout for me. I kept going back for another bite and would come back just for those. The Corn and Cheese Roll came out next along with the Pork Jowl. Both were good, although if I returned, I would probably try something different. Up until that point, everything had gone extremely well. The food came out at a good pace, people checked on us, our waters were refilled, and dishes were cleared almost as soon as we finished them. Then we waited. And waited some more. Our server kept apologizing and telling us, "The dessert is coming!" After at least 20 minutes, we started talking about simply leaving without it. I finally flagged down the host and asked if there was a problem in the kitchen because we had been waiting so long for the parfait. A few minutes later, he came back and explained that there was an issue involving the whipped cream. At that point I asked how much longer we were expected to wait. Eventually the parfait arrived, and I couldn't help thinking that we had waited close to half an hour for what amounted to a small dollop of whipped cream on top. To make matters worse, the dessert wasn't very good. We couldn't finish it. I left disappointed, especially because the rest of the meal had gone so well. I know the kitchen delay wasn't our server's fault, but I would have expected someone to proactively explain what was happening or offer us another dessert rather than leaving us sitting there wondering when--or if--it was coming.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.

Suuper bummed about our experience today. We ordered the cold noodle & LA galbi combo as we always…read moredo, and a leek pancake as we weren't as hungry and the combo usually fills us up. Even when we ordered the food, the server said "that's it?" as if she was offended that we didn't order more food (lower sales?) I'm not sure if we misunderstood her attitude but that's kind of how it felt like. The quality and size went down and it was just... not good. This used to be my #1 spot for cold noodles but our other fav place was closed today so we decided to come here. As you can see, the size of the cold noodles became smaller. Everything was packed in this small bowl which made it harder to eat. I think they changed the noodles they use because it wasn't doing anything texture wise. It used to be chewy and had a good buckwheat flavor. The broth tasted.. like water with a splash of bone broth. The quality of galbi was also a disappointing as I feel like it's became less and the meat was burnt with more fat/chewy bits. The leek pancake was ok but again, comparing it to my picture from January, it was bigger in size and more dough-y. Service was decent previously but it felt a bit cold today. Again, super bummed because we still love this place but I probably won't be ordering their combo again. You can see in my pictures how often we used to order the cold noodles from here and you can compare the quality.
