Wow what a spot! Went here with my girlfriend on a Thursday around 2 and it was not busy. The inside has a nice ambiance, looks like a modern Barbecue style restaurant. We ordered the 3 x 3 BBQ plater to split and the portions were huge! It could have easily fed 3-4 people. We got the ribs and brisket which were super moist and tender, pulled pork which was good, and three sides which were fried pickles which were ok, Mac and cheese (also ok) and fries which were great. The cornbread and butter was also some of the best I've had and I normally don't enjoy cornbread. The service was also great, super fast and friendly staff. We got our food in less than 15 minutes. Glamping weekend and stopped by here to pick up their 2x2 platter (2 meats and 2 sides) to share with my hubby. I placed the order over the phone earlier in the afternoon after realizing that their online ordering system doesn't work. When I called in to inquire about it, he said that the ordering system has only been up for 1 week and the guy in charge of it is off today. Awesome spot for happy hour. Go for lunch between 11 and 1. Great cheap beers, tasty bbq. Recommend the mixed brisket, ribs and tips. Coleslaw, Brussels and Frickles are great: MAC plain and the baked beans and one of the sauces tastes a little weird, almost like vanilla, maybe too much brown sugar or maple syrup. Parking in zoned 2 hour limit. We ate lunch a little late, so they were not busy on week day. The brisket sandwich was tasty and better than average. There was not a lot of smoke flavor, but meat was tender and moist. Bark had a pepper coffee taste. Burnt ends pork belley tasted juicier because of the fat. Also, there is not a lot of smoke flavor. Great food but the service is borderline terrible. There were a couple times we had a female bartender wait on us and the service was great. Unfortunately we usually had a bald, bearded gentleman waiting on us and he never made us feel welcome. He was not personable and made it seem like he was inconvenienced taking care of us. One time he even complained to a co-worker that he was in a bad mood and wanted to "fight someone" but was doing a good job pretending and getting through his shift. It's a shame as we were living in the area for an extended period of time and would have made this our go-to spot. Everything was great except for the coleslaw and Mac & cheese which we feel is lacking in taste. Their cornbread is good though but wish they give more butter because even the butter tastes delish. I can eat their butter alone. Our server was great!! She was very helpful and always checking on us. The place is clean and so is their bathroom. The smoked wings I did have were delicious and the fried pickles were awesome. I recommend ordering the wings dry with the sauces on the side. The drinks I had here were also good and paired well with the food. The service was great, the food arrived quickly, & the staff was knowledgeable. My friend and I enjoyed our food indoors and I was able to access the menu on my phone. This was actually my first time in the area in general and I felt like I arrived at Kinsmoke at the perfect time of day. Later that day when I walked by it had become super busy, which is indicative that they're doing something right. Next time I visit I'd love to try the brisket or a burger. The bathroom was moderately clean on my visit, the staff seemed to all be wearing masks, and during my visit there was social distancing in place. Came here for lunch around 12:30pm on Friday and we were seated immediately. There is indoor and outdoor dining and we opted for indoor dining. Ordered chili cheese fries, 1x1 with sausage with collard greens and 4x4 with 2 orders or pork ribs, 1 brisket, 1 pulled pork. 4 sides are: collard greens, tater tots, fries, and cole slaw. Sausage 1/5: was not a fan! It was very dry! Pork ribs 3/5: it was okay. It had a nice smoke ring to it, but I didn't taste much smoke in the meat and it was a little too soft. I like my ribs with a little more chew. Good flavor though! Brisket 3/5: it was okay. It had a nice bark to it, but it didn't wow me. It came out on the room temperature side, so I feel like the meat dried out a bit. Skipped pulled pork as I am not a fan of that to begin with. Chili fries 4/5: surprising good! When it came out, I saw the harden cheese on top and thought there wasn't any nacho cheese, but the bottom is actually nacho cheese. It was a good portion of chili on top and it went so well with the nacho cheese. I only wished that the fries were crispier, but I was more than happy with it as is. We asked about it and were told prices went up. Shouldn't this be disclosed first in the menu rather than finding out on my bill? Let's be real, $17.50 (but charged $19 on my bill) for just a plain BBQ is already steep. Disappointing when there is a glitch in integrity somewhere...the menu pricing, the system pricing, etc Please disclose the prices you will actually be charging customers on the bill ON THE MENU. It's not ok to slap extra dollars onto each item ordered on a customer's bill without disclosing the correct numbers on the menu. Also, as another review mentioned, the Mac n cheese is disappointing. We used Kinsmoke to cater a family reunion and it was completely worth it. We actually added more food because we weren't sure if it would be enough but turns out they would've been 100% spot on with what they recommended (guess should trust the pros!) They delivered everything to us nicely packed and on time. Despite them not usually doing the frickles for catering (as they can get soggy) they didn't for us and honestly didn't lose any crunch on our end. The bark on the brisket was very nicely developed, the ribs came easily off the bone and the smoked chicken was so smooth. I almost never order smoked chicken but I'm a big fan of theirs! We've been visiting Healdsburg for our respective birthdays for years. So, this time we thought we would try something new (to us). Definitely a mixed bag: We like to share things, so we got the "2 x 2" with the chicken breast and pork shoulder along with the Mac n cheese and spiced sweet potato tots. The chicken was dry and with the pork shoulder was more fatty than meaty. I would have liked to eat more of the Mac n cheese and tots on their own. I had 1 Barrel Aged Manhattan to go with it. It was a nice stiff drink barring the fact that this may have been because the glass was only half full. On the brighter side, at least we didn't finish the meal at usual Healdsburg prices ($51.23). Not exactly my thing, but definitely tasty. We added some of our own sauce and then they were what I was looking for - we all like different flavors so this may be perfect for most people. The seasoning and tenderness was very well done. Very friendly staff, masked up, everything was sanitized and offered sanitizer stands and more at their fingertips. I sincerely appreciate that everyone was aware, following recommended guidelines safe for everyone.
