Was in the neighbourhood with my family and decided to stop by Kinton for lunch. They had a great $15.99 summer deal going on - a bowl of ramen (pork, chicken, veggies, or beef for an extra charge), and side of pork or veggies gyozas (4 pieces), and a drink (coke, diet coke, sprite, ginger ale, or ice tea). Their usual bowl of ramen starts at $15.99 so the summer combo is a steal of a deal. I ordered the chicken ramen with thick noodles, veggies gyozas, and a ginger ale. The bowl of ramen was understandably smaller than their regular $15.99 bowl with fewer noodles and only one large piece of chicken, instead of the usual 2 to 3 slices. Broth was nice and flavourful and the gyozas were nice and crispy. The combo came with a tall glass of ginger ale that I couldn't finish but all in all, I left full and satisfied. Considering quality and quantity, the value is certainly good plus service is solid. read more

So my wife and I ordered two bowls of Ramen via DoorDash. One bowl had no broth and there was no cutlery or serviettes with our dinner. Thank goodness we ate at home as we have our own cutlery but if we were out, it would've been very inconvenient and almost impossible to eat. I've heard decent things about Kinton and they have been popping up all over the lower mainland, so finally gave it a shot today. We ordered take out as the little ones were not up for a meal outside. Everything was packaged nicely, the bowl has the soup on the bottom, and a separate layer holding the noodles above so they didn't get saturated and soggy. We ordered the original pork and shoyu beef as we've never heard of beef ramen before and had to give it a try. The pork slices were smokey and charred and tasty, the kids ate it up. The pork broth was slightly creamy and had a slight peppery flavour, that I enjoyed. The beef ramen was disappointing in my opinion. It tasted Smokey and beef flavoured, but was not like the rich creamy ramen broth I was expecting from usual ramen broths. The noodles were cooked al dente, and they have an option for thick or thin noodles. I preferred the thick as the noodles had more bite. All in all, an okay ramen experience. I might come back to try the chicken ramen and rice bowls, but I would not recommend the beef ramen. read more

Came here for lunch on a weekend last month with my friend to try out their ramen. I got the Pork Original Ramen. It comes with pork, bamboo shoots, nori, wood ear mushrooms, a seasoned egg, and scallions. It was pretty tasty overall and came in a good-sized portion. The pork was tender and flavorful. The other toppings added a good variety of different textures and flavors that I enjoyed. I also liked the broth; every sip was tasty, not too salty or watered down. My friend ordered the Golden Sesame Ramen and really liked it. As far as ramen bowl customization goes, you have a choice of thick or thin noodles, and that's about it. Since I've been to quite a lot of ramen places lately, I have to compare this to other ones I've been to so far. Yah Yah Ya Ramen in Richmond has more customizations like broth intensity (taste) and chili oil levels, as well as a more interesting menu selection. But Kinton tastes as good, if not better, than a lot of ramen places around here. Service was good. The staff were nice and even greeted us in Japanese when we arrived. Our server was happy to explain the menu and their types of ramen since it was our first time. We arrived in the mid-afternoon on a weekend and got a table right away since there was only one other table occupied. Our food arrived in a short amount of time, I'd say less than 10 minutes for sure. The dining area was clean and modern. They have floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Marine Gateway Plaza if you like people-watching as you eat. I don't really have any complaints, so I'd give it 5 out of 5 stars based on this visit. Pretty busy place. Staff are relatively nice. And service was quick. Food's not bad, but pretty average. Had the combo deal with the gyoza. But with the pork shoyu ramen, no eggs came with it so there was an added price there. Thick noodle wasn't bad, but soup lacked depth. Char siu was decent. To add the ramune, also $3 extra. It'd be nice if they had chilled ramune so I don't need to add ice to it. So in total, my ramen combo came to ~+$30 before tip. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the fried gyoza. I prefer og ramen gyozas. Ajitama eggs were a bit overdone. I don't like how they don't even have boxes below their chairs to put your bags or hooks below the table like most ramen places do. It's the little things that elevate the experience. In terms of parking, as long as you plan to eat quickly and do some quick shopping over $10 at T&T, it's not bad. Will I be back due to the convenience of it, probably. Will I be back due to a craving for their ramen, probably not. read more

The ramen with soup and noodles were delicious and the service was fantastic. The Tokyo fries came out fresh to the point my hubby said, "These are the hottest fries ever had!" Unfortunately, the didn't have the summer drinks available for the promotion so they let us order a drink from the menu. The restaurant used to be Pink Elephant and looks like Kinton Ramen kept the decor the same with adding some 'ramen' decoration. The ambiance is bustling and lively with pretty fast service. Came here and ordered Spicy pork shoyu and my wife ordered a regular pork shoyu ramen. Both tastes really good! Could not want anything else during this cold rainy season. Had a set meal of a can of coke,gzoya grilled,and ramen noodles. I enjoyed the meal but they need more drinks. Felt strange cause usually I'm the only person ordering coke at a restaurant. But today every dam table has a coke . If they had other drinks like milk tea and lemon tea the place would be better. read more

Finally went to Kinton Marine Gateway before a movie. We were a group of 3 and we all enjoyed our choice of ramen. The miso pork ramen was very flavourful. The pork was tender and thick slices and there was good portion of noodles. Another ordered the original broth, although it was lighter than the miso broth it was tasty. The 3rd order was the special sesame broth with ground pork. It was a big bowl and the broth was nice and creamy and very flavourful. I'll order that next time and will try their chicken karaage. The soup base was bland noodles blaaa The pork belly was 75 fat not remarkable by any stretch of the imagination .The waitress neither asked how i liked it or even seemed to care . The second dish we had was the Pork original and it was also extremely good. One thing that really stands out with both dishes is the quality of meat they use with grill charred edges.
