    Blackened chicken wrap and tots
    Christine Y.

My first time here. Had to try because the railings are good. I ordered the blackened chicken wrap. Not sure that is what I received as the chicken seasoning was orange (I've never seen orange blackened seasoning). Perhaps they gave me a buffalo chicken wrap by mistake? Waiter did not bring us napkins or silverware. We asked the food runner for napkins and she brought us 4 cocktail napkins which made us chuckle. Definitely not the best experience on this first visit. Not sure I'll come again.

I have liked everything I have eaten here. Good beer selection, good service and local as local can be.

BALDWHITEGUYREVIEWS: BUCKS TAVERN 3299 West State Route…read more22/3, Loveland, OH www.buckstavern.com https://www.facebook.com/BaldWhiteGuyReviews/ WE FOUND A TAVERN IN THE WOODS... IN A STRIP MALL. And honestly, I'm not mad about it. I'm always on the hunt for somewhere local, somewhere new, and somewhere that gives me an excuse to eat entirely too much food. The Cute Dimpled One somehow found Bucks Tavern on the World Wide Web. Apparently the internet isn't completely useless. We needed somewhere to grab some fuel before heading off for a Nippert at Night experience. Now here's the problem... The game didn't start until around 7:30. My bedtime is 8:30. So basically, this was going to be an extreme endurance event. THE ATMOSPHERE Bucks Tavern is tucked into a strip mall in Loveland. Parking wasn't a problem for us, although I'm guessing things could get a little more interesting during the busy times. From the outside? Meh. Then you walk inside... WAIT A MINUTE. The outside says strip mall. The inside says "somebody's uncle owns a cabin in the woods and has been collecting deer heads since 1974." Warm colors, plenty of seating, a fireplace with a deer head hanging above it, high tops, low tops, a fully stocked bar and TVs everywhere. And speaking of high tops... Who decided these tables were a good idea? You sit down and suddenly you're back in elementary school sitting at the Big Kids Table, except now your legs are dangling and you're wondering if you're going to need a step stool to get back down. I really liked the decor. It was comfortable, welcoming and had that neighborhood tavern feel. And there were plenty of people inside who clearly weren't first timers. The staff seemed to know several of the customers. That's a good sign. It had a little bit of a Cheers vibe. You know the kind of place where somebody walks in and three people yell, "HEY BOB!" That's what you want in a local tavern. Mrs. Patty L. was our server and she was fantastic. She kept my water full, which is basically the gold standard for me. #Score THE FOOD Mrs. Patti L stopped by and got us started with the Mozzaluna Breaded Cheese. Basically breaded mozzarella triangles with marinara. The cheese was creamy. The marinara was good. Plenty of food. But... $13? I'm going to need the mozzarella to start telling me its life story for that price. It wasn't bad at all. I just didn't think it was a $13 appetizer. The Mrs. ordered the 5 Mini Burgers. Her review? She likes the mini burgers. Same price range as a regular burger, but she likes having five little burgers staring back at her. And naturally, she didn't eat them all. Because apparently we ordered enough food to feed a small township. I started looking through the menu trying to find something different. Bucks has a pretty traditional tavern menu with burgers, sandwiches, Reubens, club sandwiches, brats, tenderloin, chicken, fish, salads, soups and desserts. But then I saw it... THE MEATLOAF SANDWICH. Ladies and gentlemen... WE HAVE A WINNER. MEATLOAF SANDWICH A "Signature Sandwich" they say. Homemade meatloaf, lightly grilled, on a telera bun with pork barbecue, fried onion straws and barbecue sauce. And crinkle-cut fries. When it hit the table my first thought was: "Holy crap. That's a lot of sandwich." My second thought was: "Well, I guess we're doing this." I am a BIG fan of meatloaf. My grandmother and mother both made great meatloaf, and despite years of trying, I have never managed to duplicate either one. So whenever I see meatloaf on a menu, I'm probably ordering it. This one did NOT disappoint. The bun was delicious. The meatloaf was excellent. Then you get the pork barbecue and barbecue sauce kicking in, and suddenly your taste buds are having a little meeting. It was messy. Not "grab a napkin" messy. I'm talking cut-the-sandwich-in-half, deploy-the-napkins, accept-your-fate messy. I have a big mouth. No comment necessary. It was a challenge. The crinkle-cut fries were also cooked perfectly. Crispy without being burnt. And yes... I ate the whole thing. I was absolutely stuffed. Which brings me to something I need to address with myself... I NEED TO STOP ORDERING AN APPETIZER. Every single time. I walk into a restaurant hungry and suddenly I'm like: "Yeah, we should probably get an appetizer." Then the food arrives and I'm sitting there thinking: "Who authorized this?" #SaveTheAppetizer THE GOOD STUFF Friendly service Clean restrooms Comfortable atmosphere Full-service bar Plenty of seating Lots of TVs for sports Food portions that don't leave you wondering where the rest went Local neighborhood feel Staff that actually seemed to know their regulars Bucks even advertises eight HD televisions and Sunday Ticket, so if you're looking for somewhere to watch a game, they clearly came prepared. They've also been around since 2009, s

Think eclipse-level rare. This Saturday was no exception... except somehow we all had a lunch window. So naturally, like any responsible American family, we turned it into a food mission for BaldWhiteGuyReviews After consulting the sacred scroll of Yelp, I presented the following contenders to the Bald Group Chat Council: Broadway Barrel House - Lebanon, Ohio Cozy's Cafe & Pub - Liberty Township, Ohio Third Eye Brewing Company - Sharonville, Ohio Luigi's Ristorante Italiano - Mason, Ohio Silver Spring House Restaurant - Cincinnati, Ohio All strong contenders. But as with any family decision, chaos ensued. We landed on Third Eye Brewing... until we discovered they open at noon. Noon?! What is this, brunch for the elite?! Don't have time for that! So... runner-up takes the crown: Silver Spring House Restaurant We plugged it into Waze and cruised through Symmes Township... where every house whispered, "you can't afford me" We rolled in just after 11am. Big parking lot, filling up fast. Bright blue building screaming "vacation mode activated." Palm trees (probably fake, but there was a heated family debate ), surfboards, and even Mr. Red welcoming us like we just got traded to the Reds. Inside? Instant Florida Keys vibe. Never been... but I felt like I should be holding a fruity drink and ignoring responsibilities #RetirementGoals Decor included walls covered in 8x10 photos of what I assume are patrons. My question: how do I get MY picture up there? I too would like to silently judge people eating mozzarella sticks for eternity #TakeMyPicture Now let's talk seating...High-top tables everywhere. Perfect if you enjoy climbing furniture like it's an Olympic sport. #NoThanks Low tables? YES PLEASE. My knees and dignity thank you. At our table was a random historical photo that turned into an impromptu Civics exam. I knew the answer. No one else did. Did you pay attention to Mr. Owens at Miami Trace High School? Drop your guess below #AlwaysLearning #NoRelation Service:Our waitress, Jordon A -- fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and dropped off a PITCHER of water like a hydration superhero Now this is controversial...Some say that's lazy.I say it's GENIUS. Why are we not doing this everywhere?! I don't want to make eye contact every 3 minutes like I'm begging for survival hydration. Just leave the pitcher and let me live my life #GameChanger #StrongWork FOOD TIME Everyone (and by everyone, I definitely don't mean me ) was starving. We started with Roadhouse Skins $14.50 Loaded potato wedges with cheese, bacon, ranch... the holy trinity. ‍ Verdict: Good... not life-changing. Those thick wedges? Felt like I was eating a baked potato that hit the gym too hard. Needed Jasper Kitchen - steak fries energy.Cheese blend? Solid.Ranch drizzle? Tease. GIVE ME A SIDE CUP. Don't play with my emotions. #ProTip Mrs. Bald * Caesar Salad ($7.50) -- fresh, filling, approved * Buffalo Boneless Wings ($16.50) -- which is wild because... boneless wings are just expensive chicken nuggets with a college degree Huge portion. Crispy, saucy, excellent spice. Came with blue cheese... which tastes like it was aged in a gym sock #RanchPleaseCelery included so you can pretend you're making healthy choices. The Princess * Cheese Sticks ($13.50) Cooked perfectly. Crispy outside, gooey inside. Marinara? Chunky, flavorful, borderline drinkable My Son * BCJ Sandwich ($17.50) Chicken, bacon, cheese, fries... the holy sandwich alliance. He'd been here before (traitor) and confirmed it still hits. Left full and happy. Mission accomplished. The BaldWhiteGuy ‍ (Food Explorer Extraordinaire)I wanted to try everything. Family shocked. I don't know why. This is who I am. Went with:"Guac on the Wild Side" Sandwich ($17.50) Cajun chicken (spicy enough to wake up your ancestors), pepper jack, guac... you had me at guacamole. Now...Chicken breast was thin. Like... "this chicken skipped chest day" thin ‍Cheese? Also thin.BUT... the guacamole? Green, fresh, creamy... the MVP of the sandwich. Side of sweet potato (don't look at the butter... it's still healthy, mind your business) FINAL RATING:‍‍‍‍ -- 4 out of 5 Bald Heads PROS Huge space -- indoor & outdoor seating Friendly staff & vacation vibes Solid menu variety (of sandwiches ) Big portions CONS Price -- Total: $93.77 Now my family says I'm cheap... but $17.50 for a chicken sa

I got a fish sandwich and it was the driest almost hollow piece of fish I've ever had in my life. The bun looked like it had been in the freezer for a good six months and then served to me. Everything was burnt and hollow from the chicken tenders to the pieces of fish to the mozzarella cheese sticks empty because they were so burnt and so overcooked. I really wanted to like this place because it's close to us and we need more local restaurants in our area, but I will never go back.$60 for this! No thank you.

I forget our servers name, but the manager also came by to check on us and even got my food boxed. We got a burger and the chicken katsu and of course the famous biscuits to start. The biscuits were very good but also a bit buttery greasy for our taste. One was enough (we split it). I did take the rest home and add some eggs to it for breakfast which was good! The burger was pretty good. Nice and salty. Not dripping with grease. Soft bun! The fries were decent but not my preferred style. I like fresh cut and these were kind of a shoestring fry. The chicken was decent but a pretty small portion that left my fiancé hungry. He said the side with it was just ok. We got cocktails that I can't recall but they were pretty good. We would go back and try some other things. Probably on a less busy day earlier in the week.
