We didn't think we could afford a kitchen remodel, despite being able to do a lot of the work ourselves (demolition, electrical, plumbing), as the cost of cabinetry was too high. When we looked into refacing, we thought of the old days, where it was either a laminated stick-on, or paint on top of the current surface. Surprisingly, Kitchen Reface Depot let us know their method: 1/4" plywood in a color of our choice, covering every single surface of our current cabinetry. I have nothing but great things to say about Kitchen Reface Depot. I contacted them regarding my very outdated 1965 era galley kitchen. I first met Amy, the office manager, to get an idea of what they offered as far as design choices and prices. The next step was having Paul, the owner, come out and measure the space and cabinets. Both he and Amy gave me great suggestions to improve the use of space in my tiny kitchen. The only hard part was being patient for the project start because they are very busy so it took several weeks to get a date in the books. I was lucky because the project was moved up 4 days. The crew, Ryan, Mynor and another young man whose name I have forgotten, showed up on time each day. There were very careful protecting the floors, appliances, etc and cleaned up after themselves each day. It took almost three full days to complete the work and it looks fantastic. I have a medical condition that makes bending down difficult but now I have pullouts in all my lower cabinets. This gives me great access to the items I need in the kitchen. Funny enough, Paul recommended FL Marble to do my counters and back splash but I had already decided to use them by my own research. They have been wonderful too. If you want a company with great customer service, a wonderful product line and employees with integrity, use Paul to give you the kitchen you have always dreamed of. My kitchen is beautiful. The workers were great did a wonderful job cleaning up each night. There was excellent communication with David by email. My one complaint is the pull out drawers. The drawers are quite a bit smaller than what I had. It's a good thing I got rid of things as there is no way everything would have fit. They did tell me they would be smaller, I just didn't realize how much difference it would be. The hinges are quite large a nd that is the reason. Not sure why they couldn't have adjusted around the hinges for more function. My other complaint is the high cost of two colors of paint. I did get a beautiful kitchen. They do beautiful work. Paul came to our home to talk to us about our kitchen and to hear about the changes we had in mind. After meeting him, we knew we need not look any further! We had found the contractor we were hoping for. Not only did Paul have excellent suggestions and ideas, he is a true carpenter and visionary who understands your needs. He truly loves what he does, and it showed every step of the way...from the first step to the last. He knows what he is doing, is incredibly detailed, and wants very much to create the kitchen you are envisioning. We had all of our cabinet doors removed, new hinges, pulls and handles installed. We added some glass cabinets as well. Paul was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in terms of design, function and details. All the touches he added, the panels, the trim...everything is perfect. Durability, usability and upkeep are important to him. Not only does it have to look good, it has to be practical, sturdy and functional. We selected white cabinetry and a new white island. It came out perfect. The finish Paul applies is amazing. We are so impressed with the the paint, how it is sealed with a clear coat, has a beautiful matte finish, but is tough as nails. Paul created a bookshelf and helped us install a mini fridge in the new island he built. The whole process went as planned. Paul is organized, professional, trustworthy and meticulous. My wife and I purchased a foreclosed home 5 yrs ago. The kitchen cabinets were damaged. Also the space that was originally built for the refrigerator was built for a massive side by side Viking fridge. We don't have $10k lying around for a new Viking so the kitchen remained unfinished. We didn't have the funds to have our kitchen remodeled and the cabinet company that designed the cabinets said sorry buddy we only do business with builders and large builders at that. We couldn't find anyone to match our cabinets although the pattern seemed fairly simple to us. Enter Paul. I found him on YELP and saw his perfect scores. I thought at best he might come closer than others. I'd been hearing from other cabinet makers that they would be able to match the cabinets to a degree of 80%. Which wasn't good enough for myself or my wife. We had decided to paint the cabinets white and fill in the space over our affordable Samsung which had replaced the missing Viking with particle board and be done with it. Even if our kitchen sucked. Paul had different ideas. We live out of his work zone but Paul convinced me that even an idiot like myself who can barely hang a picture could do it myself. He told me to give him the measurements of the spaces and he would do the rest. Just swing down to Santa Clara and pick the parts up. He told us that esthetically he thought the design builders had created a few errors in the length of our cabinets. We went with his new suggestions. He cut our new cabinets provided the instructions and hardware and I and my wife installed our new cabinets and a drawer designed and built by Paul. Previously we had no drawer. Our home is 20 years old and we wanted to refresh all of the cabinet in our kitchen, family room, powder room, wet bar, butler pantry, master bedroom and master bathrooms. We decided that getting all new doors and hardware and refacing all of their cabinet frames was the best way to go. After doing much research including getting quotes from several companies, we selected Kitchen Reface Depot to do the job. We selected them because we felt that we were able to communicate well with all of their employees and their skill levels were exceptional. Price came into play but was far from the determining factor. Real customer comments and reviews, along with our assessment during the quoting process, played a much larger part in our decision. Our initial interface was with Paul the owner and his office manager Janna. He was very easy to talk with. He understood what we were looking for and at the same time offered a myriad of suggestions to enhance our home. He saw much more potential than we did. We valued his dedication and experience. As the project progressed, Paul's two main craftsmen really got into it. They were meticulous in their work and did little things that enhanced the look and function of our kitchen. Each of them had their own areas of expertise and did a great job bringing everything together. After each work day, the crew would clean up and vacuum their work area to hold down the dust accumulation. All of the crew were very honest and trustworthy. They worked hard and put in the extra effort when needed. Throughout the project, they were like our extended family. This is a LONG review. I would give Paul and his team 10 stars if yelp allows! We all know why we decided to go for a reface, save us time, money and efforts. However, a good contractor is hard to get these days, and if you see one is booked months ahead, like Paul, then you know they must be doing some good work and that's why people keeps going back to them for business. We have a small condo, while the kitchen is still in good condition, the style is just too old for the rest of the place. As we have updated the condo throughout to contemporary style. We initially got a paid kitchen designe service from IKEA, but the thought of without a kitchen for a month, and dealing with the city with permits is just all too much. At the end we looked on yelp, Paul's all 5 star reviews was hard to believe at the time. I decided to give him a call. Paul answered my questions, and asked me to email our kitchen photos, and look for a door style on his website. I was confused at first: so you are not coming to my place to take a look first? I later figured out how things works: *I need to send in the kitchen pictures so that they can count number of doors and drawers we have. *I need to let them know what style of doors I have in mind and what color I want. Therefore, they can give you an approximate estimate based on these factors. And if you are happy with the price, things moves on from there. We were happy with the initial estimate, therefore we have made an appointment to his workshop to meet him in person. There were so many door styles and handles to choose from. Paul was very welcoming, listened to our needs and concerns, and provided multiple ideas how I can keep the existing cabinets but without looking at the old interiors. And we wanted to keep the existing granite, to be honest wasn't the best color, but we decided to keep it so we could save another $2000 ish. it was a hard work to find a door color to match the granite.he took notes on what we liked, and later on he adjusted our estimate according to the changes we wanted to make in the kitchen. After the adjusted estimate, that's when Paul came out to our place and did the measurements. He also brought all the door style samples with him, Incase the color changes in different lighting environment. We have decided to go for a plain white in the end. And while he was doing the measurements, I told him how I wanted to match the kitchen with the rest of the condo, he suggested few ideas and handle styles. Then all we need to do is to be put on his calendar and wait for our "new" kitchen. Our kitchen reface took only 3 days. And like other reviews has said, these guys worked perfectly as a team, left the kitchen in useble conditions every Night. I was totally impressed that they even refaced the underneath of every upper cabinet, and all drawers has soft close feature. Paul's team refaced all of our cabinets in only 3 days on site! I worked with 3-4 different vendors for the entire kitchen, and no one was like Paul and his crew. They show up, do incredible prep, execute everything flawlessly, and then do a gorgeous job cleaning up (they even vacuumed). They were professional and polite during their time in our house, and I cannot recommend them enough. The thing that sets Paul apart is really how he treats you though. He was incredibly nice and helpful throughout the entire process. He is calm and considerate, and does not forget the details. When we decided we wanted another two shelves, not only did he build them for free, but he even delivered them himself. He even sent some thoughtful gifts for our newborn daughter. You can't ask for someone better to work with. He was also very helpful in referring me to a handyman and counter top company that has worked with him in the past. I found his prices to be fair, and quality of work to be excellent. This is one of those rare occasions where I wish Yelp had 10 stars so I could show just how happy I am with the work KRD did on my kitchen. I was initially a little apprehensive, especially having to put down a deposit and then wait several weeks for my install date to arrive, but KRD came through on all that they promised and more. Each person that I interacted with during this process was delightful (Paul, David, and the two men assigned to my project). I can't say this about all the contractors I've worked with during my last year of kitchen and bath remodels. The two individuals who worked on my project were such hard workers; they were perfectionists and didn't overlook any details.
