Very open, breezy dining space in Montgomery. We were a party of four on a Sunday evening. There was a wait for a low-top table so we sat at the bar, a few feet from the hostess area. Bar tender was great- and our drinks were perfect. After a bit of a mishap (we missed the text saying a table was ready so the hostess canceled our place in line), we were seated and greeted by a friendly server. Have been wanting to try kitchen social recently, and finally got the chance. It was super busy in the afternoon, me and my gf grabbed seats at the end of the bar. The bartenders were a little reserved at first but once we started talking, ordered drinks, Philip really made the experience enjoyable. I started with the whipped feta, and dude it was delicious. I've been thinking about it since lol. Next we sipped our drinks, ordered some entrees. My gf being my gf, played it safe with the chicken tenders. I was stuck between 3 entrees, honestly so many looked good, I settled with the al pastor shrimp tacos, 1 because I've been on an al pastor kick and 2 my gf said she would eat the chips and salsa that come with it. Food came out in decent timing, soaked in the atmosphere, it's very spacious, but packed. I thought the tacos were good, was I blown away? No. But they were solid and pretty. I ended up smashing the chips and salsa. My gf didn't love the chicken tenders, they do taste a little different than you'd expect. I brought my younger brother here at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. We were seated immediately at a high top near the bar. The place was packed and loud, but the atmosphere was great. It felt like a lot of local families and friends in their favorite restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly and checked on us just often enough. We ordered the biscuits, the wedge salad, the blackened shrimp capellini, and the crab-crusted snapper. We aren't big biscuit fans but we wanted to try them, as they're one of their signature items. The biscuits were moist, and the scallions added a refreshing bite, but the honey butter was the star. The perfect amount of sweetness to complement the salty biscuits. The wedge salad was my favorite by far. The iceberg was perfectly chilled and crisp, and the greens underneath were dressed separately, making a really nice contrast between the two. If I were to come back, I may just order two of these and call it a day. The entrees, while not huge standouts, were still very delicious. The pasta was a bit soft for my taste but the flavor made up for it--I was really happy with this choice. My brother's snapper was great. Flaky, meaty fish, a nice crab topping, and a delicious sauce to go along with it. The cauliflower fried rice was a bit of a letdown. This was our second time going to Kitchen Social, but this time for brunch on a Sunday! The food was once again delicious, two of us got burgers and the other two got the chicken and sweet potato hash! The space is great but does tend to get pretty loud when they are busy. Last time our service was great, but this time it was lacking. Our drinks were dry a couple times throughout the meal and at one point our server disappeared for at least 15 minutes when we needed something. Other than the service, it really is a great place! Visited a couple days ago with family--apparently this has become my sister's new favorite location. She ordered the Korean BBQ Cauliflower to share with the table. It was deliciously seasoned, nicely fried, and served with a tasty yum yum sauce. A good start to the meal. It's hard for me to resist a tomato-cream sauce, so I ordered the Blackened Shrimp Capellini. I felt it was maybe missing a bit of salt or other seasoning to really make it perfect, but overall was still quite good. My wife also ordered shrimp, going with the Tempura Shrimp Bowl. The bowl had a bed of rice and veggies, and the shrimp were covered in a scrumptious chili lime glaze. My brother ordered the Fish N' Chips, and I tried a bite. Nothing to write home about, but definitely tasty and a good tartar sauce too. My sister ordered the Teriyaki Ribeye and was gracious enough to offer a bite to each of us. Great spot first time in the place was lively early on a Friday. All ages and very clean modern feel. The food was very good served in a quick manner by friendly staff. This was our first time here. Location and food were a 5 but service was a 2. I have to say I like everything about it except we didn't have great service. It's in a very cute area there's a couple of parking garages at least ours was free which is a nice touch. It feels like most of the places seem new and. Like the decor and the girls at the front that seated us were very friendly and nice. I liked our food we shared the cine biscuit and it was really sweet and cinnamon and good. I got the eggplant meatballs that didn't have any meat which was exactly what I had hoped for. It came with the bread that you dip in the sauce and it was flavorful. It was an appetizer but I had it as my entree. Definitely would have given this place the five except for our server was not great he kind of threw the plates on the table and he let our drinks run dry even when we pushed them to the side to the outside which is the universal signal to give me a refill. Only when my husband went up to the bar to ask for a refill did he come and check on us. First time visit, what a fantastic experience and absolutely the best service my wife and I have experienced! We arrived 30 minutes early to our reservation and the host had no problem. Seating us right away. We were impressed with the very large bar area that is first come first serve seating. They sat us at a quaint two top. Served in a black iron skillet cooked to perfection after many dilemmas to choose from on the menu, which has something on the menu for everyone we decided to go with the teriyaki ribeye with roasted cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and spinach, and my wife decided to get the chicken farrotto, risotto style Farro, zucchini, oven, roasted tomatoes, and lemon jus. By the time we made it here, it was after 3pm so the Brunch Menu was over however, they let me order a mimosa flight! Yayy!! And our server was very nice. That's the Good part. The not so good is that they must have a lot of different cooks by the looks of the photos and therefore your dish may wildly vary based on who is making it. I ordered the Blackened Shrimp Capellini. It was angel hair pasta with a THIN BLAND sauce that could have come straight out of a vodka Ragu jar. You'd think with blackened anything you would get some good deep flavors. Nope. Id give this dish a 1.5 stars. The .5 is because the shrimp was cooked and that would have been the only other way they could have messed this up. Hubby ordered the fish and chips. He loved beer battered fish. Again this was a miss. Not sure if they dug into the back of the freezer for older frozen cod/perch or what but it had that older fish taste and the fry was not golden but very light and even then the fish was DRY. How??! Their tartar sauce though? Yum!! Saved the dish. Giving this a 1.5 stars as well. Fries were fine. Nothing special but not freezer burned either, thank god! Hubby ended up eating the majority of both meals because he was super hungry. I am just not going to do that. I'd its not good, I'm not just going to choke it down.
