8 Mile cheesecake. While reviewing Detroit on Yelp, Kitty's immediately jumped out when I noticed the multi-colored cheesecake (Superman cheesecake.) I stored it in the Detroit collection and it became a must stop kind of place. So glad I visited! First and foremost- the people were SO EXTREMELY friendly! I got quite a Detroit welcome and was inside chatting for about 20 minutes! They educated me on the superman phenom in that area of the world (it comes in cake, ice cream, etc...) They even let me taste a sliver of superman cake as an introduction for free. They wouldn't tell me exactly what the flavor is but I appreciate their protecting this regional classic. I leant all about how she was trying to get Taffer to help her tune up her business and she has an eagerness and desire to grow the business! I shared some ideas and she was very engaged in our conversation. I was able to watch some locals come in and see that Kitty treats them life family! Heck, she made me feel good! I ordered the strawberry shortcake. It was delicious. My one piece of criticism, the crust was soft and I like it firmer. I'm routing for Kitty's!

My mother-in-law is not a huge fan of cakes, and her birthday was coming up. We wanted something to have at her birthday party which would add to the birthday celebrations and that she would love. After spending some time doing research on the best cheesecakes in Detroit, I came across Kitty's Cheesecakes... And was immediately drawn to the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. They have lots of amazing flavours to choose from, with beautiful colour options to match - yet and still, the Sweet Potato was what I was most drawn to. I made the order over the phone early in the week, which was super easy & we were given very clear instructions on when we could pick-up the cheesecake on the Saturday! Our entire family could not have been happier with the cheesecake! It was soooooo incredibly delicious. The base had the perfect crunch and you could tell that it was freshly made and most importantly - made with love. Next time I'm in Detroit, I would love to try more of the options that they have with cakes as well as cheesecakes!! Amazing service, kind and professional staff and management, and DELICIOUS cheesecakes that are moreish!!!

Our family ordered three cheesecakes for Thanksgiving. Needless to say there wasn't a slice left. The cheesecakes were absolutely delicious fresh and we also had them pre-cut... this place is a hidden gem... my favorite was the German chocolate cake with cheesecake in the middle, and the peach cobbler and the sweet potato cheesecake OMG delicious The service was 10/10!!! I got there right before closing. The place was clean and it's still lingered with sweetness in the air. THANK YOU

Glad to have been able to experience kitties cheesecake I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake, but they had so many options that I was able to find something that I liked. I got around three different cheesecakes and let some family try them, and they love them Kitty cheesecake does not have a lot of seating at all so people normally come in get their cheesecake and go when you first drive by you'll see that there isn't really parking but you can park right in front of the store on the side of the road and that's what the staff members told me if you love cheesecake definitely stop here and pick your flavors. They definitely have cheesecake for everybody. The interior design could use some upgrading or not, it gave a feel of back in the day. Definitely a hidden delicacy. Thank you for the cheesecake!!

Mother and daughter run operation here. The vibe here is incredible remember to ask for kitty. The cheesecake selection is the best I have ever seen. I swear to you that this place gets a lot of customers. I lost count at 5 as one by one they kept walking in the door. The purple rain cheesecake is my favorite grape tasty cheesecake. The only thing this place is lacking is just coffee. I guarantee you will come here again and again. Just make sure you give yourself some time around the holidays. That is all. Chief Humble and simple will always bring peace and success.

This is the most dangerous bakery in Detroit. Or for that matter, the entire state of Michigan. Kitty's Cheesecakes have to be more addictive than you know what (do I really need to name that horrible drug that has wrecked our city and people of Detroit for decades). It's good to see independent black businesses open, be good, have a welcoming attitude with a smiling face and then deliver, time after time, such a delicious product. I say dangerous because you will gain weight, unless you have a cardio workout program already in place. If not then get a cardio workout program in place then go visit Kitty's. Prepare to walk away and constantly return. Maybe that's the workout. To walk to 8 mile and pick up your cake or cheese cake. And that workout program won't cost you a thing. read more

Had the privilege of meeting 2 beautiful people today, La Dawn & Edward, owners of Kitty's Cheesecakes & More. I had stopped in for business from Delaware and was immediately treated like family. Everything in the shop looked delicious, from the cheesecakes in the display counter to the fresh cakes under the glass. The best part of the visit was enjoying the delicious cinnamon bun cheesecake I took back to my hotel. Until that fork entered my mouth I had never liked cheesecake before. Kitty's has set the bar extremely high on the cheesecake tastebuds, no one on the east coast can compare. This family run business is a Class A operation with 10 out of 10 stars. I see nothing but success for this family with Kitty's Cheesecakes growing and bringing in customers from all over. If you're local and enjoyed Kitty as much as I did... tell your friends so they can enjoy her goodies and they can tell their friends. read more

Very nice clean establishment. The employees are very professional and helpful. We tried the homemade ice cream and it was just ok. But the desserts we also tried were extremely delicious. The had a awesome taste and almost looked too nice to eat. I love everything about this business from the staff, from the actual ambiance of the building itself all the way to the treats. My son brought me a piece of Superman cheesecake from Kitty's and it was sooo good it ruined me forever! now, I can't eat anybody else's regular old homemade or store bought cheesecake. They literally have some of the best cakes and customer service ever!! I got the Three Layer Red Velvet Cheescake for my moms birthday and everyone loved it! My fav is the Lemon Cake .. everything tastes so perfect and well balanced. I literally drive out of my way to get a slice and the drive is definitely worth it read more

I have been going to Kitty's cheesecake factory for the past four years. The staff is very friendly and they take passion and delivering quality baked goods. My parents love the peach cobbler and my favorite is the red velvet cheesecake. If you need a dessert I highly recommend this establishment. Also their cheesecake is fantastic also one time I brought a whole cheesecake for my coworker for his birthday and it was a true delight. read more

I am a true Yelper. I believe in the people's picks. I was looking for a cake place like Reen's Cakes & Things. If there are any fans out there then you know what quality of cakes I was looking for. So when I stumbled upon Kitty's I decided based on the reviews to give this place a try. I am so glad that I did! I called the morning of to ask if they had German Chocolate Cakes available. The woman on the phone said no they didn't but said that she could make me one. And so it was done. Can I tell you that it is one of the best GCC that I had ever had!! It had real chocolate chips and the perfect size pecans. The frosting was to die for and the cake was sooooo moist! You have to try this and when you do please message me or give my review a thumbs up!! read more

This cheesecake is heavenly! There is a case full of a wide variety of cheesecake slices. It was so hard to choose just one! I opted for raspberry swirl which was topped with fresh raspberries. It was so creamy and delicious. I think I could taste a little love in there. The parking at this location isn't awesome but don't let that stop you. read more

I preordered a Superman cheesecake for my adult grandsons birthday and I just wanted to say it was awesome. It was very light.... not overly sweet or heavy. I traveled from the New Baltimore area all the way to Ferndale. It was worth the drive and I will do it again the next time I entertain. Kitty it was a pleasure meeting you. and 5 stars. Bought a slice of Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake and a slice of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake yesterday as a birthday dessert... not only were they beautiful, they were absolutely delicious. I brought TWO Superman Cheesecakes back to Virginia and I am proud to say Kitty represented Detroit well! Every person who tried it wanted more and this is an area that had never heard of Superman Ice Cream. As far as the travel is concerned, they gave me two ice packs and sent me down the street to get some dry ice to assist. The cakes stayed frozen and aged very well. Everything about this bakery and the wonderful staff was nothing short of outstanding. They were wonderful and more than glad to assist me. In the future EVERY trip to Michigan will include a stop at Kitty's Cheesecakes & More to see what is new, buy something that is "old", and eat some childhood memories! I went here to get some specialty cheesecake flavors. The most popular cheesecake flavor that everyone reviews is the Superman multicolored cheesecake, however, I found this to be the least favorite flavor out of the 5 different ones I tried. By far, the Oreo cheesecake shined! I would highly recommend! read more

Okay the workers were very nice and friendly. But the prices on the cheesecake are very pricey. $5 for 1 slice. I bought 3 for 15 I could of went to Kroger for a full cheesecake for that price and taste way better. Honestly the cheesecake wasn't good at all. I fed it to my nephews cause hey kids love anything sweet. But I tasted wayyy better cheesecake then this. Workers were very friendly read more

Stopped into Kitty's this past weekend on a totally spur of the moment decision before we were headed to a dinner party that evening. Having never even heard of this place before doing a yelp search on desserts in the area, I was extremely happy. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the drinks. The coffee flavorings tasted inexpensive and artificial, which took away from the overall experience. I also ordered an iced tea and later found out they don't actually brew iced tea--they simply pour hot tea over ice. As a result, all of the ice melted almost immediately, leaving me with a lukewarm drink and forcing me to go back for more ice. While it's a nice place to hang out, I would probably return for the atmosphere rather than the beverages.

Usually I buy my cheesecake from well known stores or big time cheesecake businesses or make my own if I have the time. I did not have the time to make my own. Furthermore, I did not want to buy from well known & big cheesecake businesses so I decided to search online for small businesses that make & sell cheesecake. I came across Kitty's cheesecakes by chance. I planned to go to another business to buy it but changed my mind when I read a few reviews about Kitty's so decided to go to Kitty's. I bought 3 flavors, banana pudding, superman and key lime. I am familiar with key lime because I make it every once in a while. Someone bought me key lime from Florida hence I like it so much. I wasn't familiar with superman and banana pudding. When I tasted them, they were so good, I couldn't believe it. They were soft and yummy especially the banana pudding and superman. The key lime was good, better than the one I make. I plan to try other flavors in the future. The in-store service was nice. I wonder how she makes the color combinations so well and attractive. Last month (Feb), I was at an event and someone brought in a few cheesecakes from Kitty's Cheesecake. I had a slice of banana pudding cheesecake and it was wonderful. It tasted just like banana pudding! It wasn't too rich or too sweet. It was so good that I brought my home my husband a slice. I told him to cancel his cake lady and let's order from this establishment instead. He agreed! We went in (the next day) and my husband bought maybe 6 or 7 slices, they were about $7 each. About 2 weeks later, my husband suggested that we stop by there once I got off work. While at work, I had anticipated which flavors I was going to get. We went in and proceeded to buy 4 slices, but I wanted one more. She (Mrs. Kitty) began to tell me that I can't pick my slice, because they had a cake slicer and so every slice is the same. So, I told her I didn't want the slice. if my husband wasn't with me, I would've left everything. She would never get another dollar of mines. This place is the worst. I drove 6 hours to get here, I was in Detroit to attend a funeral. I came here and they had barely anything to offer within the case. A lot of the slices were packaged so sloppily and most were not labeled. I followed them on instagram, that is how I decided to come here. When I posted my slice on instagram and said it hated it, because it was dry and tasted terrible the owner blocked me. Not only is this cake $4 a pop it tastes like food coloring. The people here a so rude and completely unprofessional. This is not cheesecake at all this is some SLOP lumped together trying to pass as cheesecake. When I pulled up there was no where to park. When I walked in I was not greeted and the person who helped me had an attitude about it. I accidentally visited Kitty's after they'd already closed on a Saturday - after realizing this I started walking back to my car when I heard someone opening the door behind me. They called me back over and welcomed me inside even though they'd closed almost 30 minutes earlier!
