Nails were filed crookedly, didn't like the shape, but didn't want to ask her to fix it lest too much nail got filed off, so I grabbed the file to fix it myself. Also terrible paint job... This is what a $20 pedicure should be... So friendly (they set out a magazine for you while you pick a color - how sweet!) and so quick. Its a cozy spot with only four pedicure station and four manicure stations. I agree the color options are limited but last time I went there seemed to be more to choose from. I came here after All Season closed down and I had a pretty sub-par mani at Lillypad. The ladies were very friendly and the salon has a very cozy feel to it. They have a good selection of OPI and Essie colors and even had OPI Mad as a Hatter, which had just come out, so they try to stay on top of trends. I had high expectations based on the Yelp reviews (and the fact that this place is about $3 more expensive than the average nail place in the hood). Were they met? The good: + Long-lasting mani and pedi. My mani looked good for almost a week. + Thorough and gentle job on cuticles (both hands and feet). These ladies know what they're doing with the nippers! Even after my polish chipped and I removed it, my hands looked like I'd just gotten them done. + Everyone who works there is nice and friendly. The bad: - Cleanliness. There was residue floating in my tub water and the lady doing my hands had a used nailfile (I could see white residue on it before she got started). They have a great color selection including gel and even have Zoya nail polish! They always are super accommodating, remember my name and I can even bring my little dog in. I get my nails done about every 3-4 weeks with gel and every other month for a pedicure. I've tried a bunch of different places around this neighborhood, and really loved this place. I've turned into a regular. They are all really nice, they did a good job scrubbing and getting my cuticles taken care of. Plus, the gel lasted forever. Last week I went in just for the gel. I wasn't really paying attention during the manicure, but once I left, I noticed they were really messy. Parts were darker than other parts and it wasn't all the way against my cuticle (looked like it was already growing out). I would have ran back in but I had to go out of town. Well, three days later it started to peel. I had to go to Walgreen's on my vacation and soak them off since two fingers were already peeling and it looked awful. I paid 25 bucks for a 3 day manicure... great. Well this week I was in a dire need of a pedicure. Kitty's has done a good job in the past and I just figured that maybe it was the gel that wasn't good, and tried them once more. Mistake. It was so rushed, she barely scrubbed my feet even though I told her I needed it, and the massage was no joke 10 seconds both feet at the same time. The polish looks fine but I could have just done that. Getting my nails done is one thing I splurge on and I expect it to 1. Last 2. Be relaxing and done well. I'm not sure what has happened here but two times in a row leaving super disappointed is two times too many. DON'T GO! RIP-OFF !!! I regretted so much after I got my nails done last night. It was a horrible experience which I never had before at any nail salons. It all started when one of the ladies asked me to get on the spa chair which I refused her. I normally prefer regular chair. She then gave me dirty look because spa chair costs more. While I was getting the nails done, many customers walked in and all the girls were occupied. People asked how long is the wait. The ladies were rude. They ignored the customer for a second and then spoke their own language with each other. Then they asked them to come back. The ladies weren't very friendly. They all looked very mean. For a second, I thought I was in the cemetery. No one smiles. For god's sakes, it's a customer oriented business. After my nails were done, it was totally unacceptable. I realized they don't replace their nail polish. You know when the bottle's almost finished up, the liquid gets thick thus resulted the bubbly surface on my nails. They looked ugly. Worst scenario, no price list of signs was found. They can charge anything they want and I ended up paying $28 for mani and pedi which is the most expensive around Nob Hill nails. Everywhere else costs $22-$23. Trust me, I did research. I don't mind paying more but they're not even doing a good job. It's no long the Kitty's nails before. It's now under new management. Everything else is different....That's it for me. My last time of visiting there. read more

I've been here before many times and previously enjoyed my manicures, but after yesterday's trip I won't be coming back. Not only did the nail tech do a sloppy job applying the polish, she badly clipped my cuticle and two of my nails have chipped less than a day after the service. read more

I've been going here for a while because a friend lives next door. They now know me, and they always smile and say hi when I walk by. You've got to love that. All chairs are spa chairs, and they just got these new massage chairs that are pretty darn cool (once you turn off the wear butt probe part). They have an amazing color selection, and great prices. It's always clean, and I've never had to wait more than five or ten minutes even though they only have three pedi chairs. read more

Kitty's makes paws happy. I love this quaint nail shop. As tiny as it is, they carry all the colors and color combinations you can think of. When getting my mani and pedis, I make sure the establishment is spic and span, and they definitely live up to my standards as they use Barbicide disinfectant on all their tools. The girls always know exactly how I like my pedis done and know exactly the right shade of pink I like for my french pedis. Most importantly, I don't feel rushed, and they don't push the cross- sale of their numerous add-ons like suggesting a mani in addition to my pedi, or adding a paraffin treatment to my pedi, or insisting on gel instead of acrylic, etc. The use of oils and rose petals in their soak create an aromatic ecstasy . There are several nail salons that are practically next to each other and I like this one along with Nob Hill Nails...when this one can't take me I usually go to the other place and vice versa. I get my pedicures here and sometimes get waxing (eyebrows) done too. They do a great job, make you feel comfortable, and the prices are fair too. This is the go to place around the corner from my BFF. Anytime we plan a girls mani-pedi date, we're always taken care of. My mani-pedi lasts me at least 2 weeks, if not more. The full set however was a disaster. Honestly, it was the worst set I've ever gotten. It just seemed like he hadn't done it in a really long time. It's comfortable and clean and upscale (they put rose petals in the water they use to soak your hands) but you don't pay extra for the frills. It's small. My love affair with Kitty's started 3 years ago when I broke my knee. I couldn't reach my toes to cut them due to the metal immobilizer that stretched from my ankle to my upper thigh. So I hobbled over to the closest nail salon to my apartment, just to see if I could pay for someone to cut them...no polish necessary. All of the women in the salon immediately started grabbing pillows and making a pile for me to flop on. They agreed to a cheap cut for me but instead pampered me and gave me a full out pedicure. This made me so happy and I have been returning ever since. Each mani/pedi is absolutely perfect and the place is super clean...which is the most important quality in a nail salon. I have to be honest and write that I really liked this place and would have a pedicure frequently. Friendly staff, decent price and decent service. However, I went in recently and unfortunately I could not remember the name of the usual girl that works on my feet. She was there, and to my shock she got really angry with me to the point of shouting at me. Now I guess I am partly to blame for not remembering her name but I've never been very good at placing faces and names. She could have handled it better by just reminding me again of who she was instead of shouting so loud at me, that two of her colleagues came from the back to find out what was going on. My experience should not put others off though because, if it had not been for this incident, I would still be going there. I refuse to give money though to someone who was so rude to me and patronize an establishment that allows that sort of treatment of a customer. read more

It is the second time I went this place and I am still wondering why I have been earlier. They have some really nice equipment and the prices are really good. They are doing a great job and they don't rush you out. My pedicure and manicure of today was perfect. I did the acrylic nail and she just did a really good job. I only pay $50 for the all service (pedicure included)! I've driven by this place for 5 years but a friend just dragged me here for the first time. I got lucky with the parking and the ladies at Kitty's were great. They were very sweet and Kitty stayed past closing time to make sure I was good to go. I'm celebrating my one week anniversary with my mani-pedi and so far it's survived a plane ride, white water rafting, hot springs and plenty of debauchery. I read every review before writing mine, looking for another by a guy to no avail. I go to Costa Del Sol tanning salon a couple of doors East of Kitty's and had walked by oblivious hundreds of times, and for some reason I walked in their doors last year and got a pedicure and loved it. A pedicure is only $20.00 and the place is clean, fresh and well lit. The staff are really nice, and seem to be overseen by the proprietor who is fluent in English and extremely polite. The soaking is wonderful, the scrub really revitalizing and great care is always taken trimming and cleaning each nail. The spa chairs are very comfortable and also clean, they even vibrate which is a neat touch for this luxurious service. I always thought manicure and pedicure were only chick things, and now I understand why the ladies love this service so much. I've tried a few other places, but none has compared to Kitty's in my opinion. It's a wonderful gift I give myself about every six weeks and they're really great here. read more

I have been to kittys twice the first time they did a spectacular job on my pink and white the second time I asked for something specific and it took two hours which was a simple task of putting a color tip on my nails and messed up on the finished product. Also did not look good and messed up big time. I had to get my nails done a week and a half later. Just was not what I was happy with and took way too much time. Friendly staff and recommend for regular manicure not for acrylics and do not recommend there pedicures they do not scrub or really do much with your feet other than soak them rub it a couple times put lotion on and paint. Friendly amazing family run and a couple other employees on staff. mom dad and son all work there. Lovely. I will not repeat twice is good enough. One mistake is too many especially if I need to invest in getting my nails done before a two week grace period and already spent 80 dollars. read more

You get the basic standard type of service you would expect for the usual mani and pedi. Two ladies attended to me at the same time - one doing the mani and the other, the pedi. I wasn't impressed with their work. I don't think they were thorough at all. I wouldn't recommend Kitty Nails to anyone. read more
