Came today for breakfast. The food and service were great! Only fault was the hashbrowns were a little too crispy you had to pick it up and eat it instead of using a fork.

This was a very quaint easy place to eat at. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. It was easy and the food was pretty darn good. I got the portugeuse sausage and eggs with the fried rice. The rice was chefs kiss delicious for the morning Food was good, eggs were cooked to order and I will def. eat here again.

One of all time favorite pancake joints, and I guess Koa Pancake House is all over the island because I've tried a few different locations with the exception of the Hawaii Kai location, as it was an all time first for me. Great service, awesome pancakes & coffee, what more can you ask for? My friend wanted to take me out to breakfast, so I told her that I wanted to go to Koa Pancake House in Hawaii Kai. Upon walking into the restaurant, I noticed that the restaurant set up was similar to the Kaimuki Koa Pancake House location. I ended up getting my usual spinach mushroom cheese omelet, and my side was a stack of buttermilk pancakes. My friend ended up ordering the corned beef hash, eggs, & potatoes. To wash down our meals, we enjoyed several cups of hot coffee. What can I say about the grub? I would say it's just your standard hearty breakfast. Nothing fancy, but sometimes simple is what I like. The service here was fast and friendly. I also liked the fact that you can serve yourself your own coffee. If you like hot coffee like me..........suck 'em up my friends! Lol!

Ready for a simple breakfast after a good hike. We chose Koa Pancake House since it's closer and because they make good Vinha d'alhos (Portuguese style marinated pork). If you haven't tried it yet, then come and visit them. I don't know of any other place that makes it. But...we ended up with French toast, two over easy eggs and crispy bacon. That's because I'm cutting on my white rice intake. Even as simple as this is yummm! It's soak enough without making squishy or soggy. The bacon is cooked crispilicious! To finish it off, we had the nutella crêpes with strawberries. This is good but not something that I'll order again...it's too sweet. It's too sweet. But if you have a sweeter tooth than me, then this is for you ;) It's not on photo but I also got a coffee. Please add another 2 scoops to get that caffeine in ;). It's really mild. The staffs are friendly and quick. There was about 4 of them in the front, which made things move faster. It almost felt like get in and get out kinda dine in thing. Thank you for reading my review. Have a great long weekend!

Great location for breakfast, mostly local customers and home town feel. You order at the counter or by their QR code. The food is then delivered to your table. You clear your table. Friendly atmosphere

This place is the spot that always hits and I am so grateful it is still open! Has been around for quite a while and for a good reason. Whether your hungover, too lazy to cook, or simply just want to grab a breakfast bite cause your hungry, this is the place to go. I always go into a food coma after I eat here and am more than satisfied. The aunties that take your order are incredibly friendly and help you decide when you are having a difficult time since there's just too many good items on the menu. The ambiance is very family style but if you want more of a quieter area to eat your food, get takeout and bring it down to the tables by the marina water side. Or bring it to the beach or the top of the mountain or lookout! Im telling you Koa pancake house will hit anywhere! Good pricing for good big sized portions

Great food and even better people! We stopped for breakfast before heading to Hanauma Bay and it was the best pit stop. Breakfast plates and waffles were very good and staff was more than welcoming. Amazing ambiance - Lovely place to sit and sip coffee over great food.

I ordered the steak and eggs and upgraded my pancakes to the macadamia nut one. The steak was cooked as I ordered, medium, but it had absolutely no flavor and had a burnt flavor on the outside. The pancake was however delicious. Good portions for the price but quality is hit or miss. Coffee was typical diner coffee. Good place to stop for a bite with friendly service.

We started with a shrimp elote special and the chicken liver mousse. The shrimp elote was unique and flavorful. The mousse was my favorite thing of the night. So rich and creamy and the cherry marmalade paired so well with it. Love that they provided ample bread to go with it. I had to try the la chancla cocktail - the mayo washed mezcal caught my eye. It sounds a little strange but it was very good and was quite strong. For entrees we got the carbonara and zucchini lemon risotto. The carbonara was really rich and the Portuguese sausage added a nice touch. Looking at pictures of it beforehand I was worried the portion size would be small but it's served on a large bowl making the portion look smaller than it is. The risotto had a refreshing tangy sweetness from the lemon. Both have the option of adding on crispy prosciutto for $4. We didn't but saw some that other people ordered and it looked amazing - next time! One of the servers there provided a great recommendation with a wine pairing for the carbonara and let me try a rose before committing. It wasn't something I would normally have chosen but it worked well and I'm grateful for his helpfulness.

I was staaaarving so for me and baby I ordered: - Cornbread - I love their cornbread. Alcohol didn't light on the whole plate so only had little bit and baby couldn't have any. Think no bourbon next time. Just sprinkle some salt and it would be perf. - Chopped - All kine goodies in this salad but the dressing was very "nothing." I added some garlic salt when I ate the leftovers and it kicked it up a notch. - Chicken Pappardelle - The pasta was terrible. So thick and doughy. Took away from the chicken which was okay. Ended up dumping the leftover pasta...which was pretty much the whole thing. - Oxtail Mac & Cheese - This was more like an Oxtail Helper (like Hamburger Helper). Very not cheesey. Baby ate some but think she wanted more cheese. Tasted better the next day. Friends had the Prime. The temp on each was given to the wrong person, which needed to be right since 1 person didn't get the roasted pot. The medium-rare one was cold. Like COLD. Strange. Overall think they fell a little short on the food. Some things GREAT, some thing the opposite, so balanced out. Will I go back? Of course, but now I know what not to get.

It was room temperature and very tough even though it was bright pink, the fat was super gristly and hadn't rendered at all, and the meat was so completely flavorless that I was genuinely concerned that it might be a COVID symptom. As a 12-year food service old-head, I can almost guarantee it was just taken from a cooler and microwaved, albeit not nearly long enough. Same for the au jus; it was steaming hot when it came out but room temp within 2-3 minutes, pretty hallmark microwave trait. They also had a crispy bread starter with some sort of bright red syrup in a tiny plastic cup. The bread wasn't bad but the syrup tasted like straight cough syrup. The kitchen timers were also insanely loud. I sat at the counter and they were uncomfortably shrill even to me, I can't imagine what it does to those poor cooks' ears over time. After 3 bites of meat I gave up and just finished the plain microwaved corn and rice before getting the check. The staff was great and I really liked the guava plantation drink I had, but overall it was a really unpleasant way to spend 20 minutes.

It's one of those spaces where you hope the next place finally sticks. But the food at Scratch Kitchen? Absolutely delicious. The kind of meal where the pictures alone make your mouth water. If "smell‑a‑vision" or "lick‑your‑screen" technology existed, everyone would understand exactly what I mean. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully done, and perfect for a Mother's Day treat.
