I'm writing only about the Amazon return policy here. It's awesome. If you have to return something and this is an option, do it. You just show up with the product, open up the bar scan on your phone and they scan it, and that's it. They pack and ship the item for you. It's so easy. Also, you'll get a receipt that also has a 25% discount on anything in the store that's good for the next 7 days. Win-win. read more

This is a review for the way they handle credit card transactions. I went into the store March 2nd and purchased about 85$ worth of merchandise. I used my charge card. I asked the associate if I needed to show ID. She said no as long as the name on the card is the same as the name as the account...(why wouldn't it match)? Anywho I didn't push it since I didn't have my ID. Then I was informed that I only has 77$ available on a card that has 400$ availability and I know that's wrong because I pay off my card so I don't get interest charged (I'm only interested in the benefits). The next day I went online to check and sure enough the bastard who got into my car June 30th used my card February 1st and 2nd. I'm fine they got comfy shoes, a shirt, undies and socks. But I draw the line at 3 separate Starbucks cards for $40 each then another 40$ Starbucks card the next day. WHAT PERSON WILL GET A $40 GIFT CARD? LET ALONE 4!?!?!? I wouldn't do that. I'm sure the person that got into my car and then used my card doesn't look like someone who could afford that especially AFTER the holidays. Why didn't the associate think Hmmm that looks suspicious. Lets ask for an ID. You know why? Because it's not part of their training. Which is a disservice to their customers. But wait, if your reading this post maybe your now asking yourself why there were two cards open at the same time for one account and one person on the account. Apparently Kohls doesn't cancel your card when you order a new one. Seems like they should so they don't keep losing $400 in fraud. Side note I called on the 2nd and disputed the charge. Today over the phone they stated that it was approved and they will be waiving the late charge. I also asked that they cancel all cards on the account but keep the account active. I really like their style but I'm completely put off by this experience. It should have never happened if they truly put their clients first. I will no longer be shopping with them. read more

I perused through the clearance section in the women's section (already VERY messy) and a rude black middle-aged or older female employee asked me in a hostile and accusatory way, 'do you want any of those things you just opened up.' Nice time at Kohl's this week getting bedroom stuff for a Guest Suite at my house. Found GREAT deals on pillows, comforters, and fleece blankets - I even picked up 2 for my dogs who LOVE how soft and comfy they are. I can usually find exactly what I want, and a little more, too. It doesn't hurt that Kohl's had just sent me a 40% off coupon to my iPad, too, so I shopped the sale prices, and then got the extra discount at checkout. Kandi at the Amazon returns in this Kohls location went above and beyond. I was trying to do a few Amazon returns at this kohls and was happy when I saw there wasn't a line. I was trying to pull up my amazon app and I was having trouble marking the items to return. When someone came into line I told them to go in front of me. Then more people started showing up and I didn't want to hold up the line so I got out of line and went to the end. I still couldn't get my amazon app to work with me so when I got to the front of the line again I let the person behind me go ahead. I felt bad that I didn't start the return earlier like I usually do and so I kept letting people pass me in line. I was actually only here for a few minutes because the kohls workers were super fast. Kandi called me over and asked if she could help me and she commented on how nice I was to let everyone go ahead of me but she was able to multitask and help others as she guided me through the process. She made me go from feeling a lil embarrassed and frazzled to making me feel good for letting others pass me. She helped me return my items and I was out of there in no time! Hoping this isn't a trend because I like Kohl's, but my last few experiences have not been good. I was in the store around closing time. They announced that the store would be closing in 5 minutes so I started towards the front. About 15 seconds after the announcement, I paused to look at something on display as I was headed out. An associate who saw me pause came over, "Um, excuse me, this store is closed" like it was 45 minutes after the doors had been locked and she was surprised to see a customer. I guess it doesn't sound like much but she was very rude, and they had JUST announced closing. I was going to buy the shirt and try it on at home but that's okay. I have no desire to shop where associates can't even pretend to be courteous and the negative experiences are much more frequent than the positive. read more

OMG! Kohls has FAILED once again! I'm so sick and tired of being followed around the store like I'm some kind of thief. Without going into much detail, I was followed by store employees around the entire store but not one of them asked if I needed help. When I brought this up to the manager, he responded "sorry, but our staff is not supposed to interact at all with customers..." WHAT?! Since WHEN is that customer service?! There is nothing more delightful than new store smell. The paint is fresh, t-shirts are neatly folded, racks are shiny and the floor shines. I recently visited the new Kohl's in HB (where the previous Mervyn's was located). It's a smaller version than the one in Bella Terra or seems that way because its well organized. The layout is the same as other stores - men's dept on the left, women on the right, babies and housewares in the back. The service was friendly, the cosmetic samples were clean I actually wanted to try them and there were ample cashiers open. I will definitely come back soon to enjoy the newness. read more

Fitting rooms smell and customer service is useless. I've never been in a kohls before so I don't know what the expectations are... I was told I was getting a loyalty card and they ended up running a hard credit inquiry on me for a kohls credit card which I would NEVER have agreed to. Of course the 15 year old cashier didn't know enough about any of that to think he should explain what was being done. They tracked someone down to answer my questions when I realized what happened. This person told me it would affect my credit score by half a point for ninety days.... Which is total nonsense as hard credit inquiries can dock you several points for TWO YEARS. So upsetting that I even wandered into that smelly discount store while I was shopping nearby. read more

This is a great Kohl's. Never super crowded and the staff are always enthusiastic and helpful. I really like the selection of men's shirts etc compared to say....Target or the others. The area manager is one of the rudest, unprofessional and unpleasant individuals I've come across. Ever. This is NOT specific to customer service. On multiple occasions , I've witnessed HEATHER (a Manager of Kohls on Adams and Brookhurst in Huntington Beach), treat her employees with a demeaning attitude and even condescend to customers alike. She holds a smile that's clearly sarcastic and fake while making snide remarks in an attempt to insult you. I say attempt because she only succeeds in making a fool of HERSELF. She is just downright mean to anyone she comes in contact with. I've witnessed this behavior for YEARS of me being a customer. On top of witnessing several horrendous situations she's involved in, her employees state they can't stand working for her. Any employee I've talked to about Heather tells me she micromanages like no other, treats them poorly and is the reason a lot of them aren't happy. GET RID OF HEATHER! KOHLS...Do a little research and you'll see she's a problem for you guys! Oh yea...on a side note, the new system for prices of all your merchandise is confusing, at best. Half the time, the price isn't posted and the other half, it's incorrect. I find myself searching for a price when the signs don't show it .... and usually , I'll just pass on the item out of frustration. Change the in-store pricing system back to how it used to be... where the customers were able to look at the monitor or sign, and know how much it was , immediately. read more

The worst dot com experience. They're unable to resolve an issue regarding delivery to wrong the address. I called and tried updating my address 10-15 minutes after the order was placed online. I had to deal with customer service that spoke broken English from their overseas call center. This is a direct quote from their site, "We may be able to make the following changes within 30 minutes from when you placed your order: Cancel your order." I was not able to cancel my order, I couldn't update my shipping address with Kohl's, and I updated my shipping address with OnTrac as soon as I got the tracking number and they still screwed up. The payment was made using a Kohl's credit card. I can't do a chargeback, I didn't receive my order, and now I'm obligated to pay for this since it's tied to my credit report. Over all nice kohl's . If you don't mind a surer aggressive night manager who gives you a bitch (resting?) 5 min before closing warring you the place is CLOSING!!!! and talks to purchasing costomers like they don't understand what five minutes is...... then right when they come over the loud speaker starts taking cloths that I was try to buy away from me. I told her I'm all set and getting those but just kept giving me bitch face . Finally I just walked to the counter (3 feet ) away and just let her know she really is being aggressive for no reason and she storms off in a huff! Wow! This location is kind of run down or maybe it just looked like it because things looked misplaced and were laying around in areas they shouldn't be?! The Christmas decorations were all picked over when I went last week and a lot of things I looked at were broken. Looks like I should have went to the Bella Terra location. I didn't think I could ever shop here in my right mind, because at the time they were doing their construction to open the store, they did so much of it at night. LATE at night - and I lived right behind the parking lot at the time. Then, when they opened, they re-did all the doors - AT NIGHT. So loud! And they had the bright lights in the parking lot shining into my window all night. AND the employees liked to party and drag race after closing. Not a good relationship with the neighborhood, I assure you. I moved. Then I got over my hatred of the rudeness and went in to see what it was all about. I have made some purchases - I admit it. I still can walk over to the store from my new home, but just don't choose to because of the fricking ENORMOUS lines. Ugh. Especially at Christmas. But the store is a nice Kohls, well laid out, with a decent variety, so I say all in all - it's A-OKAY. But don't think of moving to the neighborhood right behind the parking lot!!!! I created this account SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of alerting Kohls and all their potential customers, that one of their employees (a manager, to be exact), deserves to be permanently relocated. And by "relocated," I mean fired. This Manager I speak of, goes by the name Heather. I was at the HB location, asking her a question regarding a product on the kiosk and she looked at me, condescendingly laughed, and said, "uhhh yea... I know YOU think it should work like that but I'm telling you it doesn't...it is what it is...nothing you or I can do about it ." Really?? You couldn't have articulated something nicer to give me that info?? Unbelievable. What made me laugh was while I stood there in disbelief of Heather's appalling attitude, a random customer shouted to me from a decent distance away, "good luck with that one! You won't get anywhere with her." Ha!! So, not only are customers complaining about her on Yelp but they're actually warning other shoppers in real time?! Dude...drop her!! Unfortunately I had the worst customer service experience with this older lady that was extremely rude and gave me attitude because I wanted to make a payment before I made a purchase. He had me come in the store and handled it efficiently and expertly and completely avoided losing me as a customer. While I love the deals that Kohls has, and the coupons that you get for being a credit card holder with them, their service could use some polishing. They often forget to take the security tags off of my clothes. So much so that I have finally made it a habit to double check before I leave the store. That's kind of a hassle, when it should always be done every time. I would have given more stars; however, there is one cashier at this particular Kohl's location that I CANNOT STAND. I have to go back to get her name, but I will purposely let someone go ahead of me if the one line ends up to where she will be my cashier. She is older, with an accent of some kind. I frequent this store a lot, and she used to be very grumpy. I think someone may have complained about her to management or corporate because now when you go up and ask how she is, she responds "I'm great, thank you so much," instead of "hmph." Anyway, I was there the other night buying some running shoes for an exercise class that I'm taking. She was the only cashier. I had forgot my kohl's charge, but I had a credit card and a 15% off coupon. She scanned the coupon, gave me my total, and then told me I had to use my kohl's charge with that coupon. I have been there plenty of times where the cashier never says anything about it. So I told her I didn't have it and asked if she could look it up with my social security number. She asked for my ID. I told her I didn't have it (I rode my bike) and I would just come back later. I put my hand out so she could give my coupon back. After saying I would come back later, she holds on to my coupon and proceeds to ask "Well if you don't have ID then how you drive?" Umm...not that it's any of your business, but I rode my bike. Give me my coupon back. So she takes the coupon off of the price and tells me the new total!!! Are you kidding me....? I said "I'm not buying the shoes without the coupon...I WILL COME BACK." Then she hesitantly gives my coupon back. They need more consistency with their employees. If some employees are going to allow customers to use coupons without their kohls charge, then all of them should. If corporate does not want this to happen, then they need to do something about it. Also, the women working in the jewelry department are not so friendly either. I find that all the younger employees are friendly, but not the older ones. I asked to use a ring sizer because there was a cheap ring on the rack that I wanted to buy, but there was plastic wrapped around it so I couldn't see if that size fit. when I asked for the ring sizer, the lady gave me attitude. My boyfriend went in to ask if they sell watch batteries, the lady scoffed and said no. He then asked if she knew where he could buy a watch battery somewhere close. She proceeded to say, "Not here!" ......Really? Lame service! read more

This location is definitely not the largest, so if you're looking for a ton of variety, hit up the Bella Terra location. This location suits my needs just fine and usually has what I need. The store is organized and the staff are friendly. I've never had an issue returning items, even if they don't have a tag on them. I ALWAYS save the receipt though. read more

I was in the HB location today returning a few christmas items and Debbie the cashier helped me. She was friendly, professional and didn't try and make me feel on the defense for making a return. So often sales associates take it personally when you have a return to make and they go out of their way to make sure you are aware of it. Ordered two different pairs of pants for golf to see which one I liked better. One was fine, the other was too heavy for golf. I never put the pants on and tags were still on it. I returned it to the store the same day they arrived in the mail. The item was $27.99 plus tax of course and I had the receipt. They refunded me $24.13. I was charged $5.60 and they said it was a transaction discount. I have no idea what that is and the girl at the store couldn't tell me either.
