Oh, the freshly baked breads at the Kolache factory are hard to resist! They have different flavors of bread fillings that you will have a hard time deciding which one you will take with you because all of their breads are delicious! I had the greatest pleasure of getting helped by Fatima. She was gentle and empathetic and showcased her communication skills to the best! It was Christmas Eve with 7 minutes left to closing. Our mobile order could not be completed because of how busy it was. But Fatima carried herself with grace. Got to try a few of these Kolache for breakfast. Kolache, meaning cake or pie, are a Czech pastry, thats a sweet bun filled with different types of filling. I got to try a few of the breakfast ones. They were all stuffed full with filling and the bread was sweet and thin so that it wasn't mostly bread. Bacon Egg and Cheese was delicious. The taste was rather mild but had a good balance so that you could taste all the ingredients including the sweet bread. I think there were onions in there too. A little hot sauce "from home" made it even better. Chorizo was a stronger flavor than the bacon egg and cheese and the egg was cooked a little more. I think i liked the Bacon Egg and Cheese a little more because the filling was more moist. The cream cheese was also good, it was the sweet cream cheese on top like a danish but with the same sweet pastry. I liked them too, they seemed more familiar to me because they looked like a danish, the egg Kolache were filled like Chinese bao so the seemed a bit more exotic to me. There was no wait for us and we got our kolaches very quickly. We got the: 1) Strawberry Hazelnut Cream: -This is one of their February seasonal kolaches. Def had to try this. -The dough was soft and fluffy enough. The strawberry jam was perfectly sweet, not too tart. -The hazelnut Nutella was drizzled on top. -The MVP was the sweet cream cheese that they used. It tasted like the cheese that they use in Danishes but much more delicate and "whipped". My mom really enjoyed it. -Altogether, this was a great flavor and texture combination. Sunday Morning, Fairly busy but the line moves quick. Came here for the first time and trying Kolaches for the first time. A lot of choose from but mostly savory options with a few sweet options. Went for the bacon egg and cheese, chicken enchilada, and bbq beef. Make sure you get them warmed up The dough is soft and light. The ratio of dough to filling is perfectly balanced. All baked goods should be this way. Bacon egg and cheese- egg was fluffy and bacon adds a little great flavor. I wish the bacon was crispy but that's just preference. Chicken enchilada is hearty and great. Bbq beef is on the sweeter side like a chopped brisket sandwich but overall great. Would recommend and probably come back here to try other flavors. read more

Ordered half a dozen kolaches to take on the road today, Aug 29th, very close to closing time. Also, ordered a couple of different coffee drinks. For starters, how is stuffing 6 kolaches in 1 SMALL BAG with unreadable writing on the outside acceptable? Especially when you order 6 different flavors that all are the same size? How do you expect the kolaches to not move around in the bag and not follow what's written on the outside? We had to tear them apart to determine flavors. Second, the coffee in the dispenser was luke warm. However, nothing the microwave couldn't fix. The ground sausage in the Sausage Egg and Cheese Kolache was tossed in with perfectly cooked eggs and topped with some cheese. It was my hubby's fave. I love coming here whenever we can. I learned about the Kolache Factory years ago at one of my workplaces. We ended up loving them so much I began periodically taking in Kolaches to my future workplaces and sometimes even to brunches. Personally, I prefer the breakfast Kolaches with eggs. They don't skimp on the filling so one of these can keep you satiated well into the day. I mostly visit the Tustin location but they do have a Huntington Beach location I've visited too. I've never had a kolache, but this place was amazing! I found a buy 3 get 3 coupon in the mail. If I had to describe a kolache, I'd say it's a burrito, but, instead of tortillas, it's a thicker pita-like bread, and baked into a bun shape. I ordered take out, which isn't conducive for great photos. I'll talk about the potato/egg/cheese, sausage/egg/cheese, sausage/cheese, BBQ brisket, and apple. One thing about all the kolaches is: The bread has a bit of sweetness by itself. This made the flavor much richer on the savory ones, like the breakfast ones. When the kolache bread is baked with the fillings, the bread softens and absorbs all that delicious flavor. Also, these things were all packed full without air pockets. This also means that texture variety isn't a selling point. Everything is soft, so there's no "snap" or "crispiness" in the menu. The breakfast ones were my favorite (sausage/egg/cheese and potato/egg/cheese). The potato one was basically a small breakfast burrito, but the bread balances it out. The tomato gave a nice little acidic zing which brightened this thing up. If you like breakfast burritos, try this. The sausage/egg/cheese had a flavor similar to a sausage/egg/cheese McGriddle. The sausage tasted similar to McD and I love my McGriddles, but I'd say this combination is much better (and less greasy) in kolache form. The sausage/cheese one is okay. This one was half the size of the sausage/egg/cheese. I honestly wasn't too impressed with this one. The sausage tastes like a typical smoked sausage without a great snap (this sausage link was different from the sausage/egg/cheese). Lastly, the bread:sausage ratio was too high. It felt like a half-sized hot dog in a full-sized bun BBQ Brisket was awesome. This might sound silly, but I love sloppy joe sandwiches and this kolache had sweet bbq sauce with delicious shredded brisket and the soft bread absorbed all the sauce. It was beautiful. It was perfect. FYI, this was a bit smaller than potato/egg/cheese. The apple kolache was a miss for me. I think this is a case where the soft bread hurt the dish. First, the preparation of the apples was delicious and the apple filling was excellent. The apples had a satisfying crisp bite and each slice was packed with flavor. I'd say it's the perfect apple pie filling. However, typical apple pies have thin and crunchy crusts. The bread is soft and thick. For me, it's like eating pie filling on white bread or a concha, so it doesn't fit my tastes. In general, danishes can get away with it since their filling is overly sweet. This is not, so the balance is off. I really enjoyed my first kolaches. If you've never had one before, it's amazing. If you like Chinese bbq pork buns, you'll probably love these. I'd recommend anyone who likes any type of comfort food, give the Kolache Factory a visit. read more

I was just recently introduced to kolaches and I have been obsessed ever since! This place is conveniently located next to my workplace so it's perfect for a quick breakfast/lunch. They have so many options and all the ones that I've tried so far are delicious! The staff is also very fast and helpful. I brought some home for my boyfriend after work (I picked it up around 1pm and came home at 7pm) and he thought it was good even without warming it up. There is plenty of parking in the plaza, but it can get pretty busy! They also close fairly early (2pm) so make sure you stop by before they close and take advantage of the Yelp check-in! read more
