This is our go to place when we are in Orange County. I blame the gas price that's why we don't go here as much. Before I would go 3 to 4 times a month. I leave about 1hr alway from here. I felt the variety of foods were adequate. However, the sushi rolls weren't very good, the salmon nigiri was fine, but no tuna sashimi. It is worth the money especially if your 65 or older the lunch was only $11.99. Drinks are extra but refills are free. read more

I'm not sure how people can give a 1-star rating to an AYCE buffet! If you like fine dining, you can spend a few hundred dollars and go to Chang 'An! If you're hungry and you want "one of everything," then this is your place! For $12 during the weekdays, this place is a gem! Sushi is pretty good -- better than your local pre-made grocery store packages, but not exceptional like a sushi bar. There were plenty of seafood items (baked mussels, shrimp served in a multitude of ways, baked salmon), chicken (fried, grilled, skewered, orange, etc...), fruit, salads, and even Mongolian bbq. Our old AYCE Chinese restaurant closed during covid (boo!) but this place had all the odd items I loved so much (fried plantains, seaweed salad, gyoza) and more. They even had the same fried donuts! The grand finale was unexpected -- self serve ice cream out of the freezer, similar to a Thrifty's! I don't remember how many flavors, but possibly 8-10? I had green tea, pistachio almond, and coffee. Pretty amazing. Oh and they had a chocolate fondue fountain with marshmallows. I wasn't a fan. Service was fine. I went to the buffet on 3/16/24 Saturday there was an old man double dipping multiple times w his spoon in the ice cream. One of the customers told him and then told one of the servers. The old man dip his spoon in the universal scooper and tried to get more ice cream. Finally the server ask the lady in the front to talk to the customer family to not have him not to use his spoon. The old man had super long nails and standing to eat while his family was sitting down. He definitely need to be monitor and helped w getting food plus encourage to sit down. They played the music LOUDLY and dance, yelled, and did all the crazy "party thing" while other people were having their dinner. We couldn't even talk to each other. Realize that there are two waitresses busing tables, they are there to give you water and final check. They are not truly waitresses since thay are not takiing food orders. False advertising just to get you in the door. So I got a flyer in the mail for this place. On it says "Discount for big parties, call for more information." I call and they say 10% off parties of 10 or more. Okay, sounds good. I need to host a graduation dinner for about 18 people in 2 weeks. I make reservations for 18 people. Fast forward to when we go there. Time to pay, and I remind them of the 10% discount that was discussed on the phone. I even pulled out the mailer and the waitress was like "we don't do that anymore." WTF. This was only 2 weeks ago. It's not like I was bringing in a flyer from like 2 years ago. There wasn't even anything on the flyer that said "Offer valid til _____." I was really pissed off by the way they handled that false advertising. March 19, 2022. This restaurant looks very friendly and nice from the inside. The service was friendly. They have discounts for seniors and military service. I was happy until I took a tour around the food area. My favorite buffet is Sushi. I was excited, but the first look at the sushi in the Komi buffet was horrible. The smell and coloration were old, and some fish began to water because it stayed out too long. Salmon fish has multiple colors, from bright orange to grey rotten. I was disappointed. The dishes, don't even talk about the cleanness. The many dishes were so dirty with leftover small pieces of an old meal still stuck on them. Not just one dish or two plates. It was one dish after another. Some leftover stuck on top, and some have fragments stuck beneath it, from veggies to shrimp shells. Ok, crawfish was very plain. The craps have no meat. The only two items I liked were the sweat and sour fish and chicken. Oh, please do not come to the area where you pick your noodles so they can fry for you. It was so dry, and the taste was Bad. Ok, if you have seniors with you, make sure you look at your receipt after because they forgot to take it off. There is so much more, but this is enough for me not to come back. As far as buffets go this is not a place I'd come back to. The sushi bar looked questionable and I didn't want to risk a tummy ache. As for cooked dishes everything just looked breaded, fried and sauced, salad bar looked poor with its selection. Hot and sour soup was ok. Chicken wings ok. I think your best bet is to go there for lunch and fork out $9.99. I'm very picky and barely nibbled at anything. The Tepanyaki bar is what I was gravitating towards. But, nothing was labeled. Was it pork? Was it turkey? Chicken maybe? I wasn't sure. The red stuff looked like beef, but it could be something else. I was going to ask but the cook was complaining to me that he was on his lunch break as I stood there waiting to get my food grilled. He grilled my food anyway but kind of just threw it on, left and came back. My onions were still pretty much raw. My hubsters described my face as the face of displeasure. I told him, I let him choose these places to eat at so I'm not the one in trouble. But next time, I'm picking. Service was not as bad as people say. At least once we were seated. if I could give this place zero stars I would. I usually never do reviews, but this place has disappointed me to such an extent that I'm typing this review as I'm sitting here at my table. The sushi has gone bad. I have never once gagged from sushi until I went to this place. The crawfish was equally horrible, and both the taro and the custard buns were undercooked. Not only that but the entire place was filthy, which really makes the environment incredibly uninviting. I don't wanna be considered a "Karen" for typing this review, but I do feel like if you're reading this comment to at least take precautions and remember the fact that this place is "cheap" for a reason. If even after reading this review you still decide to eat at this buffet, I do recommend the "Fried Biscuits". it is the only* dish my stomach could hold down. read more

Cheap buffet with nice food. Been coming here for about a year, and the place has never been super packed. The dining room ambience is quite chill. Families and senior citizens seem to be the main demographic. Servers are nice and always within view walking around. Food is decent for its price point. $12.99 lunch buffet is very easy on the wallet, and getting full is easy here. I would stay away from the sushi options though. They sit on a platter for a while, and the salmon sashimi looks a little grey. They also have a Mongolian grill station that's always manned. I recommend the custard buns and the soups. However, there were several tables that were empty but not cleared of dishes, so the wait time could've been shorter. Food- There was a decent variety of food, but we were not impressed by the quality or taste. The sushi bar was empty and took a while to refill. This place is a total replica of East Buffet in Hawaiian Gardens. You'll find sushi here, a Mongolian BBQ section, the usual Chinese food selection, and small desserts along with a help-yourself Ice Cream section. I can't say I really love East Buffet anymore because it has hit rock bottom since the last time I was there. And not that I love to go to buffets, but my senior citizen parents do. So as a model son (And hopefully their favorite), I take them here. Actually to be honest, it was more like they took me here. They just needed a ride. They seat you down, ask you what you want to drink just like any other Asian buffet. Serve you your drink in those large sized soda logo cups. (I'm cheap and I don't drink soda so water it is). I get up, go to help myself to the food. But what do I notice? The bowls and plates here are dirty. Yes, upon every single time I'm getting food the plates have something stuck on them. I choose the best one and life goes on. They have some of my favorite fried foods: shrimp and chicken wings. The wings were delish but there was something not right with the shrimp. I went to get 5 different pieces of shrimp on 3 different occasions. Every. Single. Time....it tasted wrong. As in I spitted out thinking I just had a bad one. No! It was a total bad batch! But of course, there were some decent foods here like their beef and broccoli, spicy tofu, spicy shrimp, meat skewers, string beans...and that's pretty much all I ate. Like twice. I skipped the sushi and the Mongolian BBQ because that didn't look great either. The fruits here didn't look so good, but had a piece of pineapple. And I had 2 helpings of ice cream because I had to get my Mango fruit nutrients from somewhere right? It's a great deal for seniors here. $7.59 for AYCE lunch. I mean, even with a $1 tip it'll set you back below $10. No, I'm not there in age yet but they do have 10% off coupons in the mailer for adults. Kids that are older than 5 years old are not worth it to eat here since they multiply the age by $1.29. 8 years old are pretty much an adult price. I do have to say this place is way better than hometown buffet that used to be here. I would only eat fried chicken there and that was probably a hole in my wallet every time.
