    mango sticky rice

Komol Restaurant As Vegas locals, I'm surprised we hadn't come sooner. We came before our reservation slot but the staff was welcoming and sat us in right away. Here's what we ordered: Vegetarian combo appetizer: this came with fried eggplant tofu, sweet potato, fried broccoli, and spring roll with sweet/hot sauce. The best part was the fried sweet potato as it was refreshing with the sauce. Everything was well coated in batter and perfectly fried. Vegetarian satay: this was our second time eating satay ever and is likely the best so far. It was well cut, seasoned, and pair well with the peanut sauce. This was my favorite dish of the evening! Pad Kee Mao: can't go wrong with this one as it's a classic. We added soy chicken to this and it was the same vegan meat as the satay so we had no complaints there but it was made slightly different to better pair with the flat rice noodles. Yellow curry: our first time ordering yellow curry ever and we were amazed. Our favorite is panang but this definitely tops that as it was rich and creamy. Absolutely a stunning dish (my wife's favorite)! Mango sticky rice: it's been several years since we had this, and we were hoping for sweet mangoes as it's summer and mango season. We were not disappointed at all because the mangoes were perfectly sweet and the sticky rice was made to perfection (the crispy golden rice on the top has a nice touch). We were blow away - definitely a great way to end a meal. Thai tea: no complaints here either! Great location and restaurant overall and the staff made it even better. If you're in town, this is the Thai restaurant to be at.

After a drive to LV, this was our first stop. It was very empty yet very cozy inside. The service was fast and our foods came out within a couple of minutes. *The pad Thai was very saucy which is something we don't usually prefer on my pad Thai. However, the pad Thai sauce here was delicious we didn't mind the sauciness! It wasn't overly sweet like some Thai places in the bay. It had a nice balance of sweet and savory *The pad see ew was your typical pad see ew with a nice savory taste from the dark soy sauce. Compared to the pad Thai, it didn't have that much sauce but it also wasn't dry. If there was more sauce, it would've been mushy. *the fried rice was good balance of sweetness of the pineapple and saltiness from the meat. The pineapple chunks were a bit big to my liking. It still very juicy and sweet though! It wasn't dry and held a lot of flavor. *the fried banana was your average fried banana. It wasn't bad at all, it was a nice cold dessert. The vanilla ice cream actually had some fried coconut flakes on the bottom which was a nice texture addition. * the mango sticky rice was yummy! The rice had a nice coconut taste to it. Unfortunately it's not mango season so it was expected that the mango was not going to be as sweet as it should be. The mango was a bit sour but the pairing with the rice made it sweet :) *the Thai ice tea was very refreshing with a hint of roasted leaves. For $5 it was worth it. They gave a lot so we would recommend going here!

I was pleasantly surprised when I wandered into Komol after discovering the place next door had closed. Warm and inviting establishment with friendly staff and good food. No wonder they've been around for such a long time. I had the basil fried rice and beef pad Thai and was very happy to finally get my fix for Thai. I look for auto stopping in the next time I'm in town.

I ordered the the Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) which are a must for me when craving a taste for Thai. The restaurant offers lots of vegetarian dishes that are clearly labeled on the menu. The Drunken Noodles arrived steaming hot, with a mix of vegetables but the noodles were overcooked resulting in them breaking apart. There was plenty of fresh basil leaves. There was a good scent of garlic and chili. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my preference.

Herbal salad - two thumbs down

What happened to Komol?!? I am a long time customer who has been coming here the last 21 years . I used to LOVE coming here but the papaya salad + herbal salad felt as if it had been in the fridge for a couple of days - I had my mother try it and she says they changed to sauce which made it undesired and we ended up leaving it on the table . The veggie pad Thai + summer rolls however were good . Whoever owns the place now PLEASE change the salads to how it used to be. Will return once the new owners get it under control . It's a mess

**Chef Kenny's Vegan Dim Sum: A Bold Exploration of Plant-Based Chinese Cuisine**…read more Chef Kenny's Vegan Dim Sum presents a thoughtful and imaginative reinterpretation of traditional Chinese dim sum. It perfectly caters to those who follow a plant-based diet while simultaneously captivating the palates of diners like myself, who typically enjoy meat-centric dishes. As I set out on this culinary adventure, I approached it skeptically, wondering how well classic flavors could be recreated without animal products. However, the experience was both enlightening and delicious, showcasing the rich tapestry of vegan cuisine while honoring its roots in Chinese gastronomy. My dining experience commenced with a delightful assortment that included Vegan Siu Mai, Bean Curd Rolls, and Hargow, each prepared with remarkable attention to detail and an evident dedication to the craft. The Vegan Siu Mai featured delicate, handcrafted wrappers enclosing a savory filling. This filling, made from a thoughtfully blended mix of plant-based ingredients, artfully mimicked the umami richness typically found in its traditional pork counterpart, creating a satisfying and deep dish. Next, the Bean Curd Rolls offered a delightful textural contrast. Each roll was perfectly crispy on the outside, delivering a satisfying crunch that gave way to a tender and flavorful interior, showcasing the craftsmanship involved in creating vegan versions of beloved appetizers. The Hargow was particularly impressive, boasting a translucent skin that practically shimmered on the plate. The subtle yet profoundly satisfying filling provided an authentic taste that highlighted the skill required in replicating such a cherished classic dish. To add a bit of variety to my meal, I ventured outside the plant-based menu with an order of non-vegan lettuce wraps. While these wraps diverged from the overall theme, they pleasantly added a fresh, crisp counterpoint to my meal, reminding me of the versatility and adaptability inherent in Chinese cuisine. The crisp lettuce provided a refreshing crunch and beautifully complemented the rich flavors of the other dishes. During my visit, Chef Kenny's apparent mastery in expertly replicating the complex umami flavors and diverse textures typically associated with traditional dim sum resonated with me. The plant-based substitutes utilized throughout the menu, such as Beyond Meat, were handled with remarkable expertise, allowing for dishes that simultaneously felt familiar and innovative. Though I cannot categorize myself as a strict vegan convert, I left with a newfound appreciation for the creativity and dedication Chef Kenny and his culinary team pour into every plate. For those adhering to a vegan lifestyle, this restaurant may serve as a beacon of gastronomic delight, firmly establishing that plant-based cuisine can honor time-honored traditions and present exciting, unique culinary experiences. Meanwhile, for non-vegans, it offers an excellent opportunity to step outside their familiar gastronomic boundaries and explore the endless possibilities of vegan cooking. Whether you are a curious diner or a devoted vegan, Chef Kenny's Vegan Dim Sum deserves a spot on your culinary itinerary. It is an experience that promises to surprise, satisfy, and inspire.

There are stairs or there's an elevator located close by for the ADA. It is very small inside: 3 tables pushed up against the wall so they only accommodate 3 seats each. About 15 high top chairs around the perimeter of the windows accounted for the bulk of the seating. The service from the staff was very nice and friendly. Since it was our first time, they gave us a chance to look over the menu and ask questions. They were very accommodating to our requests for substitutions and even recooked our French fries to make them softer. My son and I shared the Salami sandwich with fries and I also got the southern fried oyster mushrooms with a Housemade dragonfruit lemonade. My son despises any vegan cheese or vegan mayo and he tore this sandwich UP! He even added extra mayo on his half of the sandwich. The olive jalapeño tapenade was tasty and really pulled the sandwich together but it was slightly spicy so careful to those who are sensitive to spice. The southern seasoned oyster mushrooms were so flavorful. The batter was light and crispy, the mushrooms were sliced thick and not too thin. One of the best I've ever had. The lemonade was okay. Could have used more flavor and more sweetener. Overall, I will definitely be back to try some more items on the menu.

It is located in the Town Square shopping center but it can be difficult to find if you don't know where to look. Here is an easy way to find it: drive around to the AMC theater park in any free parking space in the rear of the theater and then walk around to the front entrance. If you do this not only will you not have to pay for parking but if you take the escalator right across the entrance from the theater you will come up to the 2nd floor and then make an immediate right turn. The establishment is small, quaint, and very clean. The customer service is great and the waiter was very gracious. Now to the FOOD it was ABSOLUTELY delicious. I had the impossible Hoagie and needless to say it was the best VEGAN HOAGIE I HAVE EVER HAD. I had a vegan hoagie in Tampa Florida a few years back and of course I have had some pretty good sandwiches at Capriotti's but none of them can match the one I had at this establishment. This establishment will be added to my "MUST VISIT" list when I visit Las Vegas. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, my Friends!!!

I've spent every birthday, some holidays, date nights, and random dinner outings at this restaurant. Out of all the times I've been here. I probably had three not so great experiences which isn't bad because I've been here a lot. But I'm pretty disappointed at this last visit. The scallopini Parmesan was DELICIOUS as well as the side of grilled artichokes. But it was extremely small. The drinks were decent. The charred leeks appetizer is NOT at all what you would think. There were four tiny, sliced leeks and four small pieces of grapefruit, which isn't even mentioned on the menu nor do I like. It was served cold, which also threw me off. Not a good appetizer and not in any way shape or form worth $18. We also got the leaks and risotto side. The risotto was not cooked thoroughly and was hard. It's laid out on the plate to make it look like a decent amount but yet again a very small small portion, especially for the price. I should've stuck with the basics. The zucchini blossoms the cigars and the scallopini Parmesan are probably the best things on the menu and consistently good. I get excited to try new things, but it seems to just end up being disappointing lately. There was also finally a new dessert which was a Matcha cake, but of course it was out. Probably for the best since all the new stuff seems to be a thumbs down this season. Our server was super nice though, and staff was very attentive as far as setting down new plates and clearing finished ones. Little things like that are appreciated. And I don't think they ever let our water glass get empty. I usually like to sit further back inside the restaurant but we sat in the very front by the rail this time which was a nice change and got to do some "people watching". It's a more casual feel area. Side note-I'm not sure what's going on with the lack of uniform for the hostesses, but it's not a very classy look for such a nice restaurant
