Crowded when we arrived but the line moved really fast. Kopi Klepon was delicious with a pretty strong (in a good way) coconut flavor. Pandan bolu was soft and springy. I was SO SO excited to try Kopiku since it's been on my list for so long!! I visited on a Saturday and luckily the rush came in right behind my friend and I. The drink was super creamy and earthy, and I loved how vibrant the pandan flavor was. Oftentimes when I get pandan drinks the flavor is way too light, but this had the perfect amount. First time trying Indonesian coffee! I've been here twice now and it's great. They have cool flavors and have really friendly workers. Pricing is slightly on the higher side but similar to other coffee shops ($7+). But they do have larger portions. I will say the coffee flavor itself, is a little bit more on the subtle side but very smooth and good. I have tried their Kopi Pandan and Kopi Gula Aren. Both are great! Their coffee tastes pretty unique! There's a cute board outside the shop that shows their story of how they met the Indonesian farmers they sourced the beans from. Second time around and this time got the kopi pandan as well as the kopi avocado which was recommended by the cashier. The kopi pandan was light and not overpowering with either flavors. Sweetness was perfect. The avocado one was surprisingly smooth and mixed well with the coffee! It was not too sweet or thick. Came here on a Tuesday and though there was an abundance of people, my husband and I were able to get our orders in really quick. The barista was friendly and got our drinks to us in a timely manner. She even checked to make sure our drinks were made to our preference which was very sweet of her to do. Kopi Pandan with extra pandan flavor (5/5)- pandan is typically very subtle and friends have told me they wished there was more pandan flavor in their drinks here so I requested for more of the pandan. The pandan was so fragrant and mixed well with the espresso. Earl grey matcha (5/5)- they had a sign highlighting this drink and the barista said that this was a new item they were trying to incorporate in their menu. The earl grey wasn't overpowered by the matcha and it wasn't too sweet. My husband loved it! Mushroom truffle pastry (4/5)- the pastry had crunchy outer ridges but covered a soft delicate croissant like bread. The only thing is that there was not truffle flavor. 3.5 stars. I like trying different matcha shops in the city and found a spot on Yelp. I decided to stop by an hour before they closed and there was only one customer inside. I like the minimalist aesthetic. I don't think I've ever been to an Indonesian coffee shop and not really sure what the difference is compared to other places. I'm a big fan of pandan matcha so decided to order that. I think I only waited less than five minutes before it was ready. I could taste more of the pandan but not so much of the matcha. It was good, but not something I would order again since I like to taste both. Surprised that there wasn't an adjustment for the level of sweetness. We came for an afternoon pick me up at 3:30 pm on a Saturday and there was a short line that gave us enough time to look at their cute menu on the wall. The pictures were so helpful showing the menu options with what ingredients are in each and if a drink could be hot/iced. We ordered and got our drinks within 10 minutes. Pandan Matcha - This one was our favorite. It leans more on the sweeter side but it was perfectly balanced with the grassy matcha and I loved the aromatics that came from the pandan. A great mix of earthiness and creaminess. Matcha Latte - The grassy matcha came through in this as well but with only milk, it didn't have enough sweetness overall. We walked from several blocks over. It is kinda tucked away but can identify by the line/people gathered out front. I had to try the avocado coffee I have heard so much about. I loved this drink. As for the kopi klepon ($7.75), it can only be iced, is a pandan espresso latte with coconut cream. It had good flavor, but the coconut cream overpowers the pandan. The pandan coffee here is fantastic. It isn't a flavor that you find very often, but something that I wish I could have all the time. It has a sweet nutty flavor that balances with coffee so well. The service here is great. While I sat down enjoying my coffee, I watched so many people rush in with 1 min or less before their bus arrives order a coffee, the staff put a rush on those orders and were able to get people their coffee in time for them to make their bus. This is a fantastic Indonesian cafe in the city! The line is absolutely out the door over the weekend, so be prepared for a little wait. The decor inside is very cute and informative. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm so happy I finally got the chance today. I got the Kopi Avocado and my rating is a high 9/10! The avocado tasted great with a smooth texture that complimented the espresso well. I think the amount of espresso to avocado smoothie was a great ratio to bring out the depth of flavor from the espresso. I've had similar drinks to this at other coffee shops, but I think Kopiku's version is more rich. My friends also grabbed some other coffees that I got to try but won't rate since I only had a quick sip. They were all delicious still though!
