Great little spot! Food is super yummy! It's the perfect combo of Japanese comfort food. The ambiance is awesome- I love the reclaimed furniture and decor. It's the kind of place that is so cozy and cute that you just want to stay for a while and hang out. I recommend the sushi, rice dishes and ramen, but I bet everything is good! Such a great, fun, place to eat, drink, and relax in a magical setting!! Slurp noodles, drink beer, or special cocktails, unique daily specials, or sushi. My husband and I saw good reviews for wabi sabi which was the former name of this place, so we thought we would try it out. The staff is very friendly and the place is very cute and comfortable. I got the ponzu avocado fried rice with chicken, it was very good but a bit too heavy on the sauce for my taste and very light on the meat and avocado. We also tried the spicy salmon roll which was excellent. My husband got the pork donburi bowl, it was pretty dang good but again too light on the meat for the cost. I will say right off the bat that the only reason for the 2 stars was because of wait. I understand good food takes awhile to make and the kitchen is based out of a food truck. But we got the tempura vegetables, miso ramen and yaki meshi and it took over 40 minutes for our order to come out. And the time before I ordered miso ramen and it took a significant amount of time then too. That being said, order ahead and the food is definitely good. I would give our meal 4 stars, the tempura vegetables were 4 stars only because the mushrooms were not fully done and still pretty raw. The location is awesome, when we did sit inside for awhile waiting for food the bar was mostly unattended as well. But would be a cute little spot for a date. read more

I have had some good drinks and okay food but you can never tell. The owner is full cray cray. She can't take criticism and goes full on attack. It's sooo sad. I want all businesses up here to succeed. I don't blame bars for having bar food but this place can be okay to horrible. I even tried to be reasonable with her when others told me she is a wack job. I love Koya so much and have been a loyal visitor since they opened. The past couple times I have been though the ramen hasn't been as good. It really lacks flavor like it used to and is more bland. I will keep going to support them because everything else on the menu is fantastic, I just hope the owner and/or head chef improves the ramen flavor. read more

Just had a great time at Koya Kitchen the other day. This spot gave us vibes as if we were on vacation! What a great feeling! We ordered a Sake flight for starters and then committed to a glass of one of the flight selections. Our meal came and I was delighted by the looks of the poke bowl that I ordered. Really disappointed. Sushi rolls had hard, almost crunchy rice, and they completely left the salmon out of my salmon roll (so I paid $$ for a rice and cucumber roll). Also all the dishes our group ordered that had meat had barely any (like you had to dig through to find the two tiny pieces of chicken). The tempura veggies went way to heavy on the batter - had to pick off really thick layers to even see if there was a vegetable inside. It also took a long time to get the food. The outdoor seating area did look neat but we spent 40 plus dollars for two people to eat takeout and really regretted it. I'd go elsewhere. read more

We ordered our food at 8:05 and received at about 9:20 (after they closed) with barely any apology. They even gave us tofu ramen when we ordered chicken. They didn't bring us out drinks until we asked about three times. They claimed they were swamped but we were one of about four people there so they just don't know how to run a food cart.
