If you're originally from Hawaii, you know that Maui has the ONLY Krispy Kreme in the ENTIRE state, so when I went to Maui for a business trip, I definitely had to stop off and pick up a dozen. Usually you'll get Krispy Kremes for a fundraiser. Which is fine, but have you ever had a Krispy Kreme right off the line!?!!? It's probably one the of most amazing things EVER!! You get to see how they are made on this huge conveyor belt thing. Their selections range from long johns to creme and jelly filled, to the standard doughnut we all know and love. It's on the way to the airport so don't forget to pick some up before heading off the island. You'll be sure to make a few people jealous. read more

I dont care for 'cake' donuts, I like airy ones with lots of flavor and this place always hits the spot. love watching the donuts get made through the window and getting that free donut when the red light is on! I am rating it a 3 because of the lack of communication when putting in a preorder. i went in at 10am and the girl (i wont mention her name) suggested i make a preorder so it will be ready for pick up at a certain time. the order was for pickup 7hrs later. i put the time of pickup 15min earlier just in case. i had ordered 4 doz assorted and wanted specific donuts so i had asked for a piece of paper and wrote each one down. i even paid for it and i watched her staple the receipt w my order. 7hrs later--- I get there 15m after the scheduled time (mind u i have a flight to catch and running late). i go through the drive thru and the girl questions my order. i told her my name and she says 4doz original? she said she will double check. im getting upset n tell her i already paid for it and i wrote the donuts down. i watch thru the window n i guess they finally find my order and see 3-4 of them scramble to put my order together. she then apologizes and says that they didnt know about it. what really makes it worst is that when i went in to put the order that morning, u had ordered 4 singles to eat w my kids and nephew. I tell that same girl i have a rewards number and she forgets to input it. i had to ask her twice and she remembers after the transactions was done. minor but seriously, need to focus on the task at hand. read more

Krispy Kreme is always our first stop whenever we do visit Maui. I'm usually super excited to come here because I once again get to eat fresh, perfectly glazed donuts, but this time around was quite a disappointment. I don't know if we just came on an off day or if their policies had changed, but they no longer gave out free samples of their glazed donuts. Boo... Of course, that didn't stop us from enjoying a mid-morning snack of donuts and milk. On our way back to Oahu, we had to stop by and buy some donuts for my donut-loving brother and still no free samples., despite the "Hot Now" sign glaring bright red... We went to there to put the order .. we watched the person named Eric and a female named Lydia grab the donuts we chose and put it in the box .. at the register I gave Lydia my rewards number to scan to receive the dozen glazed donuts free with the code "sprinkles" because we bought a dozen donuts .. My friend paid $14.95 .. We were told that we could leave the donuts there .. pick it up later because we were still sightseeing .. it was "hot" that day and we were leaving on the last flight to go back home on Oahu .. Perfect sugar trap on the island of Maui. This location is literally just off the Maui Airport grounds and always has fresh donuts. My wife and I hit this location as our first stop on the island. Inexpensive, priced very close to the mainland locations... Only gripe that I have is the parking lot is a bit small...but that is a minor detail. Stopped by Krispy Kreme to grab some donut's on my way to the airport to bring to a neighbor island. Was quickly greeted with a Good Morning by an employee named Justin. Although I was in a rush to make it on time for my flight. Justin was very patient, as I was deciding what I wanted to purchase. He noticed that I was being indecisive, so he mentioned the "Double Dozen Deal." I ended up getting 4 dozen donuts. As he rang me up at the cash register, then Justin made small talk. I then found out he is a business student at UH Manoa who came home for the summer. He even referred me to some places to eat since I was on my way to Honolulu. Hot and Ready Now is the best sign to see when exiting the airport. It is a typical KK donut place, but they have specific Maui t-shirts for souvenirs. You can watch the donuts being baked and iced through large glass windows. Donuts are delicious as always. Clean and large eating area; clean toilets; free parking. Waited 25 mins in line..there were only 2 people ahead of me...Geno (the general manager) was working the counter, and he has ZERO customer service skills. He looked irritated that we were all even there. I asked for hats for the kids...he sighed, grabbed some from the drive thru window area, came back and threw it on the counter. Geno then went to make our Oreo shake...didn't tell us when it was done...just put the drink on the counter which you cannot see from the cashier area. so i don't know how long my drink was waiting there. My son just so happened to walk by and see it. I grabbed the shake and it was spilling down the side of the cup and he told me "theres napkins over there". BOTTOM LINE...HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. During our recent day trip to Maui from Oahu we had to stop and get a dozen glazed before starting on our adventures. Luckily for us the "HOT" light was on so our decision to go through the drive thru turned into a must go inside experience instead. Walking inside you get that glorious yeast donut smell hitting you right in the face briefly reminding me of my childhood going to Krispy Kreme. Of course being an adult now I still like the childhood version of myself had to go to the window and watch the donuts go through the proofing cabinet followed by the beautiful fry vats getting their recognizable golden color. All before being seductively covered in a waterfall of icing and down the automated line for packaging. Although my donut pallet has changed to the chocolate glazed and cream filled or the raspberry filled we ordered a dozen glazed and nothing else. For me I honestly can't remember how long it's had been since eating the original Krispy Kreme donut - at least 10 years. The employee hand picked 12 glistening donuts and 1 extra for the "bakers dozen". The donuts were rapidly warming up the box and my hand as I held the box of sugary wonders. Now for the experience to come to the head - the opening of the box, that yeast smell teasing me. I pick the perfect one and take the bite!! In that instant I'm transported back to my first Krispy Kreme donut - so warm, gooey, can't have only 1!! Today is State advertised that if you buy 1 dozen glazed, you get a free dozen. If you don't mention it, they won't give it to you, said Sharon the Manager. But on the other end, they'll push if you want to buy another dozen for $5 more...wow! Very bad business practice especially during a time like this...I will never go there ever again. As I travel to Kahului frequently, I usually make it a point to stop in on my way to the airport and have just one original glazed donut. Yes, just one. I have to laugh when I see the drive-through because, honestly, if you're too lazy to get out of your car for donuts then you're probably just courting more disaster by eating donuts in the first place. The service is always very friendly and the place is typically empty, so sitting to enjoy a fresh donut after it's come off the line is never a problem. Well, it's the only Krispy Kreme in Hawai'i. The doughnuts are good but I've had better. But the reason my rating is so low is because of the service. The guy behind the counter was rude and I had to repeat my order more than 3 times. Their lattes are not that good either. The mocha I ordered was more syrup than coffee. When I visited a Krispy Kreme on the mainland they gave you a free original glazed doughnut when the Hot light was on. On Maui, they give you half a doughnut.
