meh... my first visit i thought the donuts were amazing... however, my second visit we did not get them absolutely fresh, and they were so-so. i've realized most people eat krispy kreme very fresh, so it taste amazing, but when they are a few hours old, they are pretty average. however, the coffee is usually pretty good! read more

What can you say about Krispy Kreme's!!! They are awesome fresh and eaten right away. I went there as a flashback to the mainland and it was exactly what I expected and remembered. Nice people with good food and a clean restaurant. My only challenge with Krispy Kremes is that they are not good the next day. Bummer they don't hold better. O well. Still love them. They also have a drive through which is nice. read more

I was really looking forward to the Krispy Kreme experience when we arrived in Maui. The donuts were great as they are at all the Krispy Kremes I've been to, but this particular visit in Kahului was ruined by the service. Specifically, "Kelly" Everyone working this shop is helpful, smiling and friendly except for Kelly. She has to be the grumpiest server I've ever run across and has no business in customer service. I walked in with a smile on my face when Kelly walks up behind the counter with a frown on her face and a short "what can I get you." We had planned on ordering almost all of the 20+ different donuts in the case but I figured I would just start choosing as I didn't know how many I wanted yet, so I started with my favorite: the apple fritter. Kelly says: with a grumpy tone "how many donuts do you want?" I said: "I don't know yet". She persists with "6 or 12?" I reply politely the same answer: "I don't know yet." She just doesn't get it so she raises her voice with "I need to know how many donuts you want!" At that point I became really pissed which is pretty hard to do considering that I'm on vacation and having a great time until I encountered Kelly, so I shot back: "I do NOT know yet!" Kelly finally figures out that I can't be pushed around, so she grabbed a large tray, which she should have done in the first place, and started loading it up with all the donuts I was choosing. Luckily, my contact with Kelly was limited as she handed off the donuts to Rhea who was VERY sweet and helpful. When I go back to Krispy Kreme Donuts next time here in Kahului, I'll make sure I peek in the window to verify that Kelly is not behind the counter. I suggest you do the same unless you want to have a run in with the "Donut Nazi." read more

This is my first time writing on YELP ..I am not the type of person to complain, but my experience at this Kahului Branch was HORRIBLE. I never in my life experienced a cashier, let alone someone who works for customer service, disrespect me and talk back. Her name was MYKAIL, according to my receipt. I visited the store on June 30th at 835am. This person was so rude, but the whole time I was trying to give her a big smile to change her mood and I ended up getting more rude comments from her. She had the audacity to talk back to me saying that "so what if Im having a bad day" and she said she does't need to smile. This was after the fact that I told her, you work in the food and beverage customer service area, that you should be thankful you have a job. As I was checking out and leaving the store she repeatedly yelled "bye" in a rude voice as her manager was next to her, doing nothing. I come to work in Maui quiet often and I'm from Oahu, never in my life have I experienced someone so ignorant and immature. SHE WAS RUDE. I am hoping the next time I visit this Krispy Kreme location she will no longer be working there, not only is she making the company look bad, she is also making visitors from all around have a bad impression of Hawaii workers. If I could put no star I would. I hope someone from the management or corporate reads this and does something to this person. This is intolerable behavior and I spent money there that I worked hard for. I hope no one experiences this worker and her horrible attitude. read more

This is one of the cleanest and eye pleasing KK Store, I have ever been in. The Manager Gene went far and beyond today by hand delivering my credit card to the Maui airport after I had accidentally left it in the store. Customer service is poor!! Do NOT make special orders from them. They take a long time to confirm your order and they give you the run around. Never placing an order with them again. I would have cancelled the order if my future brother in law didn't insist on having Krispy Kreme for his wedding. read more

Excellent original donuts...warm, soft as pillows, delicious! Place is clean, parking available in private lot, restrooms also available. Fantastic doughnuts, however the bathroom was something out of a horror film. The toilet was traumatizing, so disgusting. Fecal matter everywhere. Doubt I will return back here based on the washroom conditions. Especially if this is where the staff wash up prior to preparing the doughnuts. Yuck. Imagine going to Maui for the day and you want to bring back Krispy Kreme delicious donuts. U pre order 2-doz CAKE donuts to give away, you get back to Oahu, open your boxes and you have10/cake donuts and 14/yeast cream filled donuts. Now what? Spoke with a very nice mgr who offered to fly over 2/doz donuts, but now I would need to go to the airport to get them...umm nice but not that good. I then asked how's about if I pay for half and you credit me for the other half? Final decision she will credit me the full amount. Wow now that's customer service. Displeased with the service, they were very disrespectful overcharging us for extra boxes and refused to take it back. They insisted that the fault is due to our own error but an order of an specific amount was sent. To our surprise they gave us our order plus extra boxes. Now we are at a loss of what to do with these boxes which we must pay off as to their request. Horrible customer service, to those who will be looking into fundraising with Krispy Kreme in general be specific on the amount you're ordering otherwise you will be receiving 200 extra boxes you must pay off. read more

If Oahu had a Krispy Kreme, I think the population's average blood pressure would raise by at least 10. Every time I come to Maui for work, all my coworkers always rush to Krispy Kreme to get their 2 dozen doughnut special because that's all their family and friends want. Say WHAAATTT? I'd rather get my omiyage from Sam Sato's or Maui Specialty Chocolates. Krispy Kreme though, IS right next to the airport. Oh so convenient if you arrive early in the morning and are looking for something small to eat for breakfast, or need a small snack before your long flight home. Parking is always plentiful, and if you don't want to get out of your car, they have a drive through too. To me, Krispy Kreme is just...a doughnut. A fast food doughnut in fact. I mean, wouldn't you rather eat a burger from Teddy's or Kua Aina, instead of McDonald's? That's kind of the way I feel about Krispy Kreme. The best thing about going into the Krispy Kreme itself is to watch that conveyor belt of doughnuts being made fresh, going into the oil, fried, out, and being glazed. It's kinda enticing for someone who has major ADD. Or at least I think so. However, those doughnuts are soft, and just the right amount of sweetness. They're also pretty damn cheap too. So every once in a while, when I walk in here with my coworkers, I succumb to what's contributing to my future heart attack. However, I'd rather enjoy my doughnut from a local bakery, so I know it's being done by hand, as well as supporting my local economy. read more

Shearwin one of the workers there was just straight terrible. He got our phone order wrong and he was trying to make it seem like it was our fault. Was arguing back and forth. Small guy around 5'2 thinks he was right but next time listen better. Bad experience there because of that guy. read more

Service has never been that great here. I guess they are pissed you are eating their doughnuts! When the hot fresh light is on you have to ask for your free one. We have been told they don't do that anymore, free doughnut with the light on. Once the lady cut them in half! Really! Are we really going to break the Krispy Kreme bank if you give us a whole one? Usually the doughnuts are yummy! No complaints there but they REALLY REALLY need a better staff, people who can enjoy making yummy doughnuts and at least smile and show a little, just a little bit of customer service. Last time we visited was National Doughnut Day, never heard of it but thought it was funny we ended up there that day! We were in town buying a new car. Have to hit Krispy Kreme! I heard one of the ladies tell some people "Its national doughnut day" as she handed them a free doughnut. It was my turn at the counter, I waited as the employees finished up and then milled around almost like none of them wanted to help me. Finally a girl walked up to the counter and stared at me, weird, usually there's a greeting and a smile, at normal places. Anyway I made it a point to say hello and smile. She finished my order and as I was paying asked her if they were doing anything for National Doughnut day. She said I could get a free doughnut of course I would! The cherry pie doughnut is awesome!
