    CAULIFLOWER MANCHURIAN DRY
    Cat C.

First time here based on my friend's recommendation who has dined here several times. They offer Indian, Chinese and Thai dishes and we went with Indian. All the dishes we had were tasty. They were able to accommodate the spice level which was great. Service was friendly and efficient. There is a small parking lot in the back as well as street parking. There are several tables for seating. They have an extensive menu since they offer 3 cuisines. Give it a try!

A small spot but good food. Saw a bunch of takeout orders while I was there. Really enjoyed the chicken biryani - favorite! The Hakka chicken was good too. We also got mango lassi which was delicious. Will definitely stop by again for a quick meal.

We happened to be in the area and were looking for a highly rated restaurant and picked here. We were very happy with our choice. The Food was excellent and had so much flavor. All the dishes were really great. And we love spice, so when we asked for spicy it delivered!

Go! especially If you want Hakka Go! It's small & 2 table takeout & nice people! Went for Hakka (not Chinese not Indian) & these were top notch 'Masala Wok' worthy excellent delicious Hakka dishes: this is not a review for those looking for Indian or Chinese dishes. I am only interested in the Hakka fusion: the Kai Chi wings are like the "Drums of Heaven!" from our long gone and sorely missed Masala Wok...:(. And the hot noodles, the coriander garlic chicken, and the hakka chili chicken done in the dry style without too much extra sauce both hardened back to the delicious flavors of Masala Wok. Hope the quality of food stays high. (It's a small take out so service & atmosphere don't apply but it's a nice clean place).

Definitely not what I expected. I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to food. The papaya salad and garlic naan were excellent. The shrimp red curry was tasty. Chicken Biryani was my least favorite, didn't have much flavor except for the spicyness. The chicken was a bit dry and I didn't like the apricot seeds in my rice.

I don't get the 5 star reviews. Maybe it was what we ordered, but we were extremely underwhelmed with the food. Flavors were very very very mild, to the point of almost bland. There was absolutely no depth of flavor. We also ordered "medium spicy" and were warned that their medium is actually "very" spicy, which we were fine with. What we actually got was beyond mild; it was more like not spicy at all! The 5 Star ratings were what drew us to this restaurant but after this visit, I don't see a return visit. Our menu tonight: -- Veg Samosas (2/$4.99): these were on the small side and just ok; ironically, probably the best item we had this evening! SMH -- Chicken Korma ($15.99): I've never had Korma like this before. No flavor, no depth, no spice. -- Hakka Chilli Shrimp ($19.99): this dish was better than the Chix Korma, but still just ok. Shrimp was good but it had a thick batter. -- Basmati Rice: complimentary with each entree. -- Masala Chai Tea ($3): ok Warning: The restaurant is lacking of heat, so be prepared to dine-in with your coat on. What little heat there was, went right out of the front door with every customer who entered or exited.

Finally I made it to Kunga Kitchen after I bookmarked it a long while ago. I placed order through Uber Eats for pickup. Service:4 stars. The boss lady called on what type of fish I preferred and on my special request on spicy level (they put Prompt fish on Uber Eats menu rather than Red Snapper on the regular menu. Only medium spicy or mild as option on the Uber Eats menu). They owner lady was very humble. I picked up my order per scheduled. Beautiful! The fish: 4 stars. The huge PLUS for me were absolute freshness, not heavily coded, lightly fried, not salty, little sugar added (used sweet onion and bean paste in the sauce, and garlicky but not over powering. Also bean pasted used in the sauce which gave it extra flavor and texture. The only thing I would ask next time may be less starch in the sauce. The fish was small. And there were no broccolis with takeouts?! I saw others photos had broccolis. I wish had some in mine too. The restaurant was very tidy. For a severe OCD like me that was one Michelin Star. Lol! Over all, it was a positive experience.

Wow I really enjoyed my experience here. This is a whole in the wall kind of place with a lot of take out business but we ate inside. We shared the onion kulcha and garlic naan. We agreed the onion kulcha was superb here if you only could get one. I had the chicken Manchurian since I never tried it before. Wow it's so flavorful and cooked to perfection, the aroma before the food it the table was Devine. If you have the chance to dine here don't sleep on this place . Service was attentive and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

We have come here a few times. Twice as a party of 5; 2 kids age 8. Once as a party of 7; 2 kids age 8 and a toddler. Each time we have been met with nothing short of a fantastic dinning experience. The ambiance here is nice, and the service is top notch. What really shines here is the food. The first time we went full fusion, fried rice, papaya salad, vegetable dumplings, noodles, Manchurian. It was fantastic we wanted to come back to try the Indian section of the menu. Typically we expect fusion places to be only decent at Indian food because they have such a wide menu. We were pleasantly surprised at how phenomenal the Indian food here tasted. I can whole heartedly recommend the Palak Paneer and the Paneer tikka masala to anyone even the most voracious carnivore. They were beyond any of our expectations. We were so in shock we went back again with a huge party just to try it again. Honestly we have found a go-to place in NY. Which is great for us!

This place looks like it's locally family owned (may not be). I love the location and the indo/thai cuisine mix. Food is always delicious when we do take out from here, the staff is also very kind. And big plus for left overs the next day as pictured :) their chili chicken and hot and sour soup is my favorite. The cauliflower manchurian is also delicious.

Listen to me. Listen to this advice: Never, ever...ever! ask at an authentic asian restaurant to make your food extra spicy x2+. Unless you think you can tolerate it! I have happened to have walked in on their first day and ordered their Chicken Pad Thai...extra, extra, extra spicy. Although my mouth and stomach was on fire, I enjoyed every single bite! Everything was full of flavor and my food was absolutely delicious! Their service is amazing. I spoke with the manager briefly to find that he is a very pleasant man! Everyone is very friendly here. I always look at the cleanliness of a restaurant before ordering and they passed my test! You need to find parking on the street but I was fortunate enough to find it right in front. They're located in the former Kurrikitch location. I'm sure they're going to work on removing that sign soon. Will I be going back to try other menu items? You bet I will! Kunga Kitchen, you've gained a new regular customer!

3.5 Stars for their lunch specials!…read more This was our first visit, and we only ordered a salad and two lunch specials. I would definitely come back to try other items from their regular menu. I found the entrees in the lunch special a little skimpy. These are the dishes we shared: -- Papaya Salad ($12): this is from their regular menu, and I thought it was excellent! Well balanced and so tasty! -- Drunken Noodles w.Beef (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Soup, which was a Tom Yum Soup. The Soup was very spicy but the Drunken Noodles were very mild; almost bland. It definitely needed more flavors and wok hei, but still ok. -- Massaman Curry w.Shrimp (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Salad, which came with a Peanut sauce. The Salad was actually pretty good; the peanut sauce was slightly sweet. The Massaman Curry w.Shrimp was very weak in flavor and only came with 3 little shrimps. I would suggest you order a different protein and skip the shrimp. Customer service was good; albeit there was nobody to greet us when we first arrived, so we just seated ourselves. But service got better. They didn't rush us to order and let us linger after we finished eating. But after a while, we were asked to leave since they close the restaurant in between the lunch and dinner service (between 3:30-4:30pm). Sorry, we were not aware of this! All in all, a decent first experience. Next time, I'd skip the lunch specials and just order off their regular menu.

By the way, their website does not work. Anyway, we ended up being the only people eating in for the 2 hours that we were there. I don't know if they weren't busy because it was a weekday and gloomy weather outside but our server was very friendly/sweet/welcoming and we were both happy with our meals and drinks! There is a small free parking lot behind the restaurant. I almost missed the entrance to the lot but it's literally right next to the restaurant, which is a small cute looking stand alone house. There were tables out front but the day we went it was a little chilly/rainy so we opted to sit inside. There were a few tables inside and even a small bar so we just sat in a booth. The overall decor inside was very cute! There's also a bathroom in the back. I ordered the Lunch Special: Pad See Ew with Shrimp and a Thai Iced Tea. I forgot what my friend ordered but she really liked it and said it had a home-cooked meal feel to it which was a positive thing. My food was also delicious though a bit on the smaller portion size and it came with a small salad (you can choose the salad or Tom Yum Soup) and a small spring roll. The Lunch Special Menu is only available Monday to Friday 11:30AM-3:00PM except holidays. I had a great time catching up with my friend while enjoying a delicious meal/drink and would definitely be returning soon!

I ordered the chicken pad see ew, beef red curry, chicken satay, and basil chicken. Tried to hit every meat group. Next time gotta try the fish The Chicken Pad See Ew was a standout. Wide rice noodles with that perfect chewy texture and beautiful wok hei char. The savory-sweet soy-based sauce coated everything perfectly, and the mix of tender chicken and juicy pieces made it incredibly satisfying. The Beef Red Curry was rich and aromatic with a luscious coconut milk base. The red curry paste had great depth. There was layers of lemongrass, galangal, and spices. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and Thai basil were fresh and plentiful. I loved how it had a nice kick that built up without overpowering the dish. The Chicken Satay came out perfectly grilled with beautiful char marks. The chicken was juicy and marinated well, and the peanut sauce on the side was creamy, nutty, and addictive. Finally, the Basil Chicken delivered that classic Thai street-food flavor. Plenty of fragrant holy basil, lots of garlic, and just the right amount of chili heat. The chicken was tender with great texture, and it paired amazingly with jasmine rice. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The portions were very generous too -- we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. As my son would say "10 out of 10!" but since we are on yelp, we'll have to settle with a 5. Long Island Restaurant Week win!…read more My best friend and I came here for Jade Eatery & Lounge during Long Island Restaurant Week and WOW -- everything was so delicious. The prix fixe menu gave us so much food. Every course came out beautifully presented, full of flavor, and honestly more than enough to leave us satisfied (and then some). The food is probably one of the worst Asian fusion places I've had and I honestly feel like all of the money goes into presentation instead of actual quality. I've been here a few times and for some reason, have been around people that ordered takeout from here a few times so I've given them a chance more times than I should have and they have never delivered. The drinks are okay, definitely another one of those "presentation heavy" style drinks for some simple cocktails but I wont fault them for that. The real problem here is the food. I've ordered a few of their noodle dishes and it's honestly impressive how they manage to avoid having any flavor in their dishes. Like, I dont even know how you can get shrimp to taste like nothing but they've definitely done it here! The chicken I've had in their dishes is without a doubt frozen and if its not flavorless, its definitely rubbery and about as appetizing as eating a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Aside from the fact that their portion sizes are way too small for the prices they are charging. If you want Indian food, there are plenty of better options on the same street and same thing if you want Asian food. If you want to impress someone for about 5 minutes, take them to the actual restaurant, stare at some fish, get 1 drink and then high tail it out of there cause even the fish deserve better food than what they serve here.

We ordered the noodles regular so they should have had some sauce but there was none. The chicken dishes were both really good. The chicken wasn't overly fried or breaded. The dish was presented traditionally with the all the toppings. The duck sauce was also perfect. A beautiful dish that fulfilled the 3 categories of Chinese cooking: color, fragrance and taste. Our next favorite in presentation and taste is the pork belly with pumpkin. The presentation of the dish is eye popping. The pork belly is unmistakably cooked by a master chef. The texture is chewy (skin), soft (fat) and dense (meat). The sauce may look over the top, but it adds to the silkiness of the pieces. The "fat" is not greasy. It's puzzling how they rendered the grease. I grew up eating this dish and cook it too. This dish by far is the best I've had. Service is fantastic; helpful and attentive. The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.
