Food is always delicious with tons of flavor. Big portions and good prices. Handmade noodles are the bomb! Highly recommend going here then having dessert next door.

Underrated? Loved this family run restaurant. oxtail noodles, salty crispy chicken were very good

It was a fantastic noodle bowl that was fairly priced. Be aware that when you tell them you want spice level 5, they actually mean it, haha.

We did not mean to stumble upon this place since we just had Asian desert next door at mango mango but we saw this place had some good reviews so we decided to check it out. I am glad we did because it was delish. I had the veggie chow menu and the flavor balance is perfect! It had the perfect amount of saltiness, sweet and great noodle texture. My husband had the beef ramen and he love it as well! However, I felt like he enjoyed my chow mein more. Good thing is there's plenty of portion so we were able to share! We will definitely come back and try their other dishes!

My coworker bought teriyaki chicken on 8/31/23 & found a cockroach on the food! Do. Not. RECCOMEND!

This is the second time that I placed an order that was made wrong. I really used to like this place and would take people there. I literally get the same thing for myself every time. I tried calling and the lady was super dismissive about it. Even though the last time I brought the wrong order back for her. I don't feel like spending my time, money, gas and effort to fix their mistakes after they continue to make it seem like it's my fault. Last time they put a bunch of vegetables in when I asked for no veggies. This time and last time I asked for it to be spicy and it wasn't. I'm disappointed that they didn't seem to care enough to make the order right the first time.

My boyfriends Mom and I came for lunch after our nail appointment. First of all, the atmosphere is SO cute. There is a pretty wall mural that draws your attention when you first walk in and the booths along the wall have a different wall hanging. They're really SUPER cute. Sing my boyfriends Mom doesn't really explore or know too many asian stuff, she wanted to try someplace with me, I guess because she feels comfortable like that. She ordered us 4 sushi rolls to split and I ordered the lamb noodle soup. The sushi rolls were so good! We got a standard spicy tuna, a dragon roll, a plano roll and a refreshing avocado and peanut roll. It took longer than expected to get those rolls-- I ended up getting my bowl of noodle soup first. That was not a big deal, but I waited for my boyfriends Mom's sushi to come out so we can eat at the same time. The noodle soup was really tasty, although I could have used more broth in it, and I believe the noodles could have been cooked longer. They were just on the firmer side. I did not mind that the lamb still had bones it in, I was actually expecting a different cut of lamb-- maybe shaved? But it is okay, bones add to the flavor. What I did not like was the lamb still had a lot of skin and a lot of fat in my bowl. It just had a very unexpected mouth feel as I am chowing down. Another thing I did not care for was the lack of service. I had to stand up and walk to the counter to find the waitress for some water. And I did not like when I asked the waitress if I could use my YELP Check In offer ($10 off of $50) she said that they couldn't honor it right now. I didn't make a big deal of it, but I was a little disappointed because it should be taken off if they're not honoring YELP check in offers???

The food here is authentic chinese and sushi. Ive found the noodle soups to be delicious and consistent. Ive tried almost every soup noodle. The place is family owned and they are friendly as well as exceptionally attentive to customers. The kitchen & tables are very clean. It's right off the service road on 75 and very accessible.

In an effort to continue trying new noodle shops we stopped by Kungfu Noodle. Stopped by on a mid-lunch afternoon, it was cold and noodle soup sounded great. Tried the Crispy Chicken appetizer, Spicy Beef Noodle soup and Spicy Brisket Noodle soup. The spicy beef dish was perfect, tender cuts of beef and had a great zing. Crispy chicken had great flavor and was quite tasty. We couldn't finish it and enjoyed it just as much when we reheated it. Spicy Brisket was a complete miss. The brisket was very touch and riddled with chunks of fat. To add injury to insult it wasn't spicy at all. When asking the waitress to confirm she said it's not very spicy and to add chili paste if needed. Thought it was add as she made a point to confirm we both like it spicy when taking our order. We'll try it at least one more time because we both enjoyed the Spicy Beef and want to give a few more menu items a go. As a side note the menu that pops up on Yelp is not the same as offered on Kungfu Noodle. If you go to the Kungfu Noodle website it will be the correct menu. On Yelp it appears to be predominately ramen items which aren't offered at Kungfu Noodle.

    Yum!!

Food is amazing! Happy and friendly staff. Nice place to come and relax and eat. Love chat with the staff!

    Spicy sechuan beef soup.

I tried their Sechuan spicy beef soup. It was okay. Could use a little more flavor. Beef I did not eat, it's low quality meat, mostly fat than actual meat. I didn't dispute as I was in a hurry but was overcharge. Noodles, 3 pieces of bock chit, a few sprinkles of cilantro and green onions, along with broth, that's all it was in the soup. I will try other dishes and see if they are better than this order and will update review. Customer service could definitely be improved upon. Also, the soup was not spicy at all.

The mapo tofu was more soupy than I'm used to which made it a different type of spice. It's one of those local restaurants that doesn't need flashy décor to stand out--the food is the main attraction. We ordered a variety of dishes so we could get a good feel for the menu, and surprisingly, the dishes I was most excited about weren't my favorites. The Beef Roll completely stole the show. The beef was incredibly tender, wrapped in a flaky pancake with fresh herbs and just the right amount of sauce. Every bite had a great balance of texture and flavor. If you're visiting for the first time, this is the one dish I wouldn't skip. Another standout was the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. I know eggplant isn't everyone's first choice, but this dish might change your mind. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, soaking up the garlic sauce without becoming mushy. It's listed as spicy, but I found it to be mild, which actually let the garlic flavor come through even more. The Beef & Celery Dumplings were another solid choice. The filling was juicy, the celery added a nice freshness, and they were exactly what I was hoping for from a homemade dumpling. We also ordered the Dry-Fried Green Beans, and they were a great addition to the table. They had a nice bite, were well-seasoned, and paired well with the richer dishes without stealing the spotlight. Now for what might be an unpopular opinion--the Hand-Pulled Noodles. They're one of the restaurant's most talked-about dishes online, and honestly, they were the reason I came. Unfortunately, they just didn't live up to the hype for me. That doesn't mean you shouldn't order them--taste is subjective--but if I were coming back tomorrow, I'd spend my money on the Beef Roll and Eggplant instead. Overall, I'm glad I gave Hong Yuan a try. It's easy to see why locals enjoy this place, and I appreciate supporting a family-owned restaurant that's been serving the community. While the noodles didn't win me over, the Beef Roll, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, and Beef & Celery Dumplings were more than enough to make me want to come back and explore more of the menu.

We ordered: Cumin Lamb (side: fried rice); Singapore Noodle Combination (chicken/shrimp/beef); Eggplant w/ Garlic Sauce (side: steamed rice); Okra w/ Giant Oyster Mushroom (side: steamed rice); and Xao Long Bao (6 pcs). WOW! The braised okra with giant oyster mushroom positively SURPRISED and leap frogged to the top of my preferred vegetable GOTOs...The cumin lamb was SO tender and VERY flavorful. One of the best preparations yet. The Singapore noodle combo and Xao Long Bao did not disappoint... More importantly, the service we received was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Sadly, the eggplant with garlic sauce is the ONLY reason a star is withheld for this review...it detracted from traditional Chinese style; notes of garlic eviscerated by the chef's sweetening to satisfy an American palette...Why fix something that's unbroken?...I get it. The restaurant has to cater to its customers who populate this mix use (business/lease residential) area at the NW corner of Alma and Hwy 121, but doesn't that limit its draw? Guess we'll just have to head either further south on Central (HWY 75) to the Legacy & Spring Creek areas or further west to the Preston and Warren Pkwy Frisco TX area to satisfy our authentic Chinese cuisine food cravings.

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!
