Said he would get right on the oil change and then did it, with each customer he passed he took on like it was his life purpose to angel the customer happy and make sure they understood what was going on with their car. We were traveling from Colorado, and we left our interior lights on overnight, draining the battery. After getting a jump start, it failed to start the next time we tried to start it, requiring yet another jump start. We thought that we might need a new battery, so we went here. They tested the battery for free, and convinced us that we didn't need a new one, and that we just needed to drive a bit longer for it to rechange. They could have changed us quite a bit for a new battery -- we were willing to pay! It was nice that they were so honest. read more

I went for a car inspection and was told my alignment was off and I needed a new driving belt since mine looked damaged and was unsafe to drive. I have never been in there before without them trying to sell me something extra, like filter etc. and I was suspicious. 2 days later I went to my Honda dealer to have these two things checked on and neither one was a problem. I will not go back and would caution others to be wary of recommendations given beyond what you went there for. read more

These guys have always been extra helpful and honest. I am a single mom and I take both my car and my daughters car to them. Today, John (red haired guy) helped me with a bumper issue I was having. He did a quick easy fix, when other places could have put me through the ringer and told me I had to order all these crazy parts! Trust me, I've had it happen plenty. I was so stressed out coming in over my lunch break and John got me right in and out. I've went to them for many things in the past from oil changes to alignments. Another time, I thought I needed a whole new rim, but instead of conning me into buying a rim that wasn't needed, they easily fixed it for me. Thank you for helping me out today John! Went in for a basic oil change and fluid refill. Took an hour on a Sunday morning which seemed long to me. Was told I need front brake pads. I have been to that location a few times with my car and my wife with hers, and we seem to always need brake pads. What burned me, was that while driving home, my washer fluid light went on. Upon inspection, no fluid was added, despite what my receipt indicated. I consider this fraudulent and negligent. What else wasn't done that I was led to believe otherwise? 2 customers lost over $1.50 worth of fluid. You can't buy back trust! read more

Yes I went here because they were already open on a Sunday morning. But I agree the customer service is not good. I'm a woman who knows very minimal about cars but I know it needs oil when the light comes on. Instead of offering what's best the question was asked to me which oil I only put the oil that's best for my car that's all I know. The first time I took my car in to get the state inspection done, oil chage, alignment and 2 front tires. I was told the brake pads had a 20% life, I needed 4 new tires, all the fluids were low and dirty. I said, fine replace them. When I went to pick up the car, they told me that it currently wouldn't start and my alternator was out. I was like, It was fine when I brought it to you, I walked out side and noticed all the lights in the car and the headlights were on. The car started just fine, but they insisted it just wouldn't turn over for them. My husband took his truck up there for two new front tires and an alignment. When he got in the car, they yellow light, tire level low sign was on, he got home, not a quarter mile from here and there was a nail in his back tired, that conveniently they would not replace. I'm convinced these guys are just scammers. Don't take your car here. read more

I wanted to get my oil changed. Their data showed my car required 6.4 quarts of oil, although I knew from experience that adding 6.4 quarts would overfill causing possible damage to the catalytic converter. The manager said "No!" when I requested adding 5 quarts and then checking the level before adding more oil. The manager said "No" when I then suggested that they could add the 6.4 quarts, and then remove some oil if the level were too high. I left and got the oil changed at Firestone, where it took slightly over 5 quarts. read more

They told me I needed rear brakes which I later discovered I did not... then a couple months later a co-worker dropped off their car for an oil change and they told her she also needed rear brakes. Seemed fishy... since we both needed the exact same thing. She took her car to another shop who said her rear brakes were fine. Turns out we are not alone... they should try mixing up their story a little.... The rear brake story sounds like it's been done quite a bit. I would not recommend this shop. read more

I came to this Kwik Kar because I was in the area and the one close to my house was always great so I figured this one would be good too. I asked for an inspection and an oil changed but was also talked into getting my filter changed as well. When I left the parking lot, I hit my breaks and for the first time my breaks made a loud noise. I had to turn around to have them figure out what the hell happened. Still currently waiting... I should have been alarmed when the man before me came back after a tire fell off when he left because they "forgot" to secure it back on.... read more

I've been going here to get work done on both mine and my husband's cars for years. They quoted me $1800 to replace 4 fuel injectors, spark plugs... I called my friend and asked him, then drove 2 hours to his Kwik Kar and all I needed was the spark plugs changed and a tune up. I'm so upset, I've trusted these guys and they tried to screw me. Kwik Kar at Coit & W. Plano Pkwy. (supposedly a branch of this location) is not electronic friendly business. Unfortunately, I did not ask for the name of the person who said on phone just show the Valpak electronic coupon with coupon ID# on your iphone. I ask if I can print it out at the store, but they refuse. When I started my car, there was something rattling in my car's engine bay. I opened the hood and discover they didn't completely put back a part of my engine cover. After 10 min. of figuring it out myself with no help from the store, I was able to do it. During all this, I was not belligerent, just disappointed at their service; I was evaluating their expertise for future visits, but no longer. I would not recommend fellow Yelpers to go here unless they change their attitude, helpfulness, and expertise. They also mentioned their headquarter is on Frankford & Preston when someone came in asking if they are hiring. Therefore, I will also post this review at that location too. read more

I have only been here twice, (and now I'm done) but they don't know WHAT they are doing here. Took them hours to get done with my car both times I was there, and they would tell me "10 more minutes" when I would ask about the status, instead of just telling me it would take a few hours. Also, twice, they didn't have the part to fix my car but didn't tell me that up front. Would inquire when my car would be finished and they would say "the guy is on his way with the part" (when, he wasn't really 'on the way'). Why wouldn't you tell someone you don't even have the part, and that it will take a while for it to get there?? They did a horrible job on my car too. Had to take it somewhere else. They are complete SCAM ARTISTS. Stay away. read more

Went there for the first time ever to get state inspection. Everyone seemed nice but they told me there was "moisture" in the brake fluid so it needed flushed out/changed and that my front brake pads were low and offered to fix everything. The verbal story sounded more critical than what they wrote on their report. I thanked them and said I would discuss with my husband since I wasn't experiencing any issues with brakes. Next day I took to Midas where they did a complete brake inspection and told me there was nothing wrong with the brake fluid and that front/rear pads were over 50%. No charge for their inspection and no need for brake work. I did get a free car wash at Kwik Kar though. read more

Their alignment price and state inspection is great. I've never had any other service work done there. If you know about cars and simply turn down the up-selling scare tactics you'll be good to go. Shady place. I was paying for my oil change, and on the receipt it stated they used 0w-20. I know my car uses 5w-20 oil. I asked the guy at the front desk what oil he used and he said "0w-20." I asked him again, if that was the correct oil for my make/ model and he assured me it was. I asked him a 3rd time, and same answer. I went outside and popped my hood, and saw on the engine cover it says to use "5w-20". I came back and confronted him again, and he got nervous, asked his co-worker what oil he used. He came back and said it was a typo. I asked him to do the oil change again in front of me to give me peace of mind, but he back tracked on his own words and said he was SURE 5w-20 was used. I find that very funny because 1 minute ago he looked me straight in the eyes without hesitation and told me he used 0w-20. But now as soon as I press him he is now "sure" of something totally different. The truth is he was very unsure. It wasn't until I popped the hood and confronted him that he had to ask his co-worker. He was willing to let me walk out the shop without double checking and would have said anything to get me out the door. Poor character. Why would you assure a customer of something, then later have to ask your co worker. He should have asked his co worker the first time I asked him. If you're not sure, don't lie. Just be honest and double check first. I shouldn't have had to pop my hood for you to double check. He was very nervous, and I could sense he was very unsure of himself. I asked him to re-do the oil change in front of me to give me peace of mind and he denied. I don't think these workers are very attentive. The workers would rather risk an engine running on the wrong viscosity for 5,000+ mi, than spend an extra $15-20 worth(in reality much less because the shop buys oil in bulk) to be safe and leave their customer satisfied. People make mistakes, but true character is owning up to it. I wouldn't trust these guys. They don't care about they're customers like that. Find another shop or change your own oil honestly, it's not worth it. read more

Absolute worst! I called to see how long an oil change would take and the man who answered said 20 minutes but they would closing at 7. Granted it was 5:30. I told him I was picking my kids up then heading and would arrive around 6:15. He then slammed the phone down. Worst customer service!! I have always had pretty good experience here. The people aren't always the friendliest or most communicative but the standard services like oil change, state inspection and add ons as needed have always gone pretty well. I can drop off my car, get lunch and its generally done when I get back. Prices are fair and there are usually coupons for the place if you look. read more

Please avoid this business. Several months ago I took my 92 year old father's Lexus LX 430 to Kwik Kar at Preston and Frankford to have someone add more freon to the AC unit. When asked how much it would be they told me it would be about $30 to determine if it needed more freon and would take about 30 min. After about 30 minutes they informed me that the compressor needed to be replaced and provided me a written estimate for $1,800. Since it was my fathers car I told them that I would have to discuss the repair with my dad. My father asked me to take the car to Davenport for a second opinion. Kwik Kar then charged me $96 and told me it would be refunded if I came back to get a new compressor installed that Lexus would charge at least double for. Davenport inspected the freon, said it was low, but saw no leaks and put some dye in it so if it did leak we would know and added one pound of freon, charging me just over $100. I went directly back to Kwik Kar and asked to have my $96 refunded. Thinking that a reputable owner would claim that they made a honest mistake and that the car did not need a compressor, they would refund my $96. Instead, they called Davenport, who discussed the repair, and argued with me that the freon would not last more than 3 days at the most. In addition, they said they would have to look at the car again and put it up on a lift. I told them that I did not want them to do anything to the car but if it would make them feel better they could put it on the lift which they did to check for leaks. They rammed the car on the lift, acted resentful, and the mechanic spoke in broken English that he was right and Davenport was wrong. When I asked to speak to the manager and owner who was on the phone with the mechanic, they said he would not talk to me, and I would have to call him to get my money back. The service is so bad, and they treated me like I was ignorant which made the situation worse. I am a car guy, and have five cars. I am not dumb about cars - this firm is taking advantage of people. It upsets me enough that since I am retired, I plan to take some time to hire some people that need money for Christmas to picket in front of their store over the holidays when honest people need money. DO NOT GO HERE - and you will not want to go here when you see me and hired picketers in front of the store over the next few weeks. AVOID this place at all costs! read more
