It's a good spot to grab and go, but when ordering it can get really tight since a line will form very quickly in the mornings. The food is good, but the staff is awful. Most of the teachers at the school down the block hate going there and use it as a last resort due to the nastiness of the manager. I had a catering order that was wrong, after confirming it the same morning. The manager blamed me and said there was nothing he could do for me. I ordered their south of the border sandwich and iced coffee with brown sugar. I ordered through door dash and got in there when the app told me it was ready for pick up. It was not. I easily waited a further twenty minutes, watching them prepare a dozen sandwiches on an incredibly tiny prep table seeing sandwiches left lying open and not being worked on because everyone is scurrying around doing ten things, and my sandwich tasted exactly like that situation. I took one bite and it tasted like bland stale gross kitchen. I threw the rest away I was so disgusted. And I thought surely the coffee would be better, how can you screw up drip coffee? They did. Unbelievably they added a shovelful of dry brown sugar to iced coffee. TO ICED COFFEE. There's a reason why cafes have liquid sugar. Because dry sugar doesn't dissolve in cold drinks. Once upon a time this was one of my favorite sandwich shops whenever I'm in the area, but today I had to drop a star because my sandwich left a bad taste in my mouth (literally). Whenever I visit the workers are always attentive and nice. I was in the mood for an Italian sandwich so I opt for the Godfather and I also picked up some apple cider donuts that caught my eye. I finally get home and I'm excited to devour my sandwich. I open the wrap and it's so beautiful stacked high with meat with the perfect amount of mayo, so I proceeded to take a big bite. As I begin to chew and smile at all the goodness, my smile soon turns into a frown because it starts to get bitter. What is this bitter taste? I begin to dissect my sandwich only to realize it's the lettuce and/or roasted pepper . I was so disappointed, I ended up eating everything separately minus the lettuce, pepper and a piece of bread that also had a bitter taste to it. ‍ The Apple cider donuts were rich with apple cider flavor but a little dense, after putting them in the microwave for 20 seconds they were perfect. I got an egg sandwich (eggs and avocado in a wrap), chips and a drink. Rang me up: $18.42!!!! I said "How much is the sandwich?" He said I can see the receipt after I pay I said "Yeah but can you just tell me how much the sandwich is?" Alright, I've never written a yelp review before, and I never thought I would've wanted to until today. But fck me, I've never held anything in my hand that was so edibly alluring until today. First off, you can judge how good a sandwich is gonna be based off how many napkins they give you.. no explanation needed there.. so before I even got a whiff of it, I knew it I knew I was in for one. After eating half of it I was full, and that doesn't happen to me.. The other half, if not my lunch tomorrow, is gonna be my dinner tonight. The thing weighed like 10 pounds seriously.. I really should've put it on a scale. Guess I'm gonna have to get another one tomorrow, or whenever my stomach finishes digesting the one I had today which could honestly be a couple days. This place has a been a staple for me since high school and I'm so sorry to defend anyone but as far as I'm concerned the only competition this place has is a bagel shoppe (hint hint) in Prospect Heights. If you are looking for a bagel with that glossy exterior sheen that you need to break though to reach that heavenly chewy interior, look no further. The bagels are fresh and NEVER disappoint. They also have a wide array of sandwiches, but best part is that you could customize. They will adjust and make what you want...and who doesn't want that. Anyways, I ordered a Turkey BLT and my bro got a chicken sandwich. Both were superb and hit the spot. We showed up right as they were about to close. Sweet, efficient, and team-oriented staff. La Bagel is one of those places that we always go to because it's close to us but I only recently realized how good it is compared to other bagel spots in the city! This is a true NY bagel. They're huge, chewy, and absolutely delicious. Their cream cheeses are great too! They're so good, I take them home for my family every time I go back to Texas. Their lox is really fresh as well and I frequently get it by the pound. They also have fresh orange juice and fresh berry bowls which are some of my faves! Now, they can be unorganized and take a while at times but I usually call ahead and come pick up. They also deliver if you're nearby especially to the hospital which is nice! Unfortunately, I'm going to stop getting the Lox Spectacular cream cheese. This had Lox that you were able to see and taste. This is now dill, tomato, dill, red onion, dill, and capers. Right across from the hospital, this place is bustling in the morning, but worth the wait. They've got a huge staff and a pretty efficient system that keeps the line moving even on the busier days. Being that almost all breakfast/bagel places are almost the same, I'll cut right to the chase and say it- La Bagel Delight has consistently served me the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had, and I've lived in New York my entire life. The bagels are fluffy, they serve the eggs scrambled so even the eggs are fluffy, and it's still somehow cheaper than the place by me. This is our neighborhood spot for bagels, my family go there all the time. It's always terrible - the bagels are good NYC bagels, the staff are unorganized, rude, and slow. I've gone in and ordered a mini bagel untoasted with cream cheese and it takes 10 minutes while they give other people their stuff (same kind of stuff) faster and then rudely shrug you off when you ask whats up. Today I went in and asked for a bagel (didn't ask if I wanted it toasted) and when I said "I was sorry, I wanted it toasted" the dude picked it up and thrust it at me and said "I can't toast it now", then just tried to stare me down. I've seen them get in arguments with people about bringing outside coffee (as if the gourmet place across the street doesn't have better than their truckstop carafes, and french vanilla cappuccino machines). I've seen them be rude to little old ladies for not speaking up, and kids for... existing. The bagels ARE good, and sometimes if you get lucky the staff can be nice, but obviously, management has no reason to incentivize the positive. There's other places to get bagels, and most of them won't have a 15-minute line for bagels just because they can't figure out how a queue works. I am giving two stars because of the bagels being good. Just don't expect any customer service here. read more

Bagel itself was ok - I most definitely have had better....there's really not even much to say about it; it was better than a store bought bagel, how about that! Our choice for today was the health kick bagel - plain bagel, scooped out, with low fat cream cheese, lox, cucumbers, and red onion (sans tomatoes). All were pretty fresh, lox was on a saltier side, which became more pronounced once it had some time to sit. Love this place! I always come here when I have time to grab breakfast before work. The workers here are so lovely and friendly. They talk and joke with you like they have known you forever. They have a large selection of breakfast food here. From hot foods like pancakes to bagels and salads! Food is always really fresh and made when ordered. They're ice coffee is GREAT too. Awful value aside, the customer service here is ultimately what will keep me from ever returning. The space is so cramped and they work so slow that people end up standing around, confused, bumping into each other. Staff will sometimes forget your order all together. You'll for sure hear the owner yelling at his staff too, which must explain why there's always new people working here. I have ordered from this La Bagel so many times and every time there is a strong chance of them messing up your order. This is such a shame because they have some of the best bagels in the neighborhood but you're always wondering if they'll finally get your order right or just mess it up like they usually do. I've had times even when they told me they saw what I asked for but already did it their way. I don't understand that at all. If you see the customer wanted something one way and you do it wrong you redo the order. That makes a happy customer and you don't have to worry about getting a crappy review like this one. Also when your order is wrong trying to call up is so frustrating because they could really care less if they messed up your order. Plus the main guy in charge acts like the mess up was your fault rather than their own fault. He is very rude and frustrating to deal with. Also this place is very inconsistent with their delivery times. One day I'll get it in 20 minutes another day I'll get the food in 2 hours. It's very hit or miss at this place. It's such a shame this La Bagel is poorly ran because the other one between 6th and 7th street is amazing. I would recommend that one over this one anyway. read more

Pick ONE and stand in it. 2) If you are next in YOUR line, order when they ask for the next customer. 3) If you ordered something already prepared, be ready to pay for it and go. 4) If you ordered something that needs preparation, move to the side, keeping alert to answer any follow up questions by the person helping you, and, when done, pay and go. Yeah, you might have to raise your voice to be heard, and they can seem a little pushy, but the bagels are good and the staff is nice. They're just working their asses off back there, to get you served as quickly as possible. It's really not that hard to order and get your food. It's not Panera, deal with it. read more
