The food and service here is great!!! I've been twice and they are fast and friendly. The green salsa is amazing, please let me have it as a soup. Will definitely be returning soon.

I write this review already anxiously anticipating my return! It's a very casual establishment, relaxed and decorated with lots of Mexican cultural motifs and bright colors. Having recently visited central Mexico, I can say that it definitely evokes a similar feel. Seat yourself upon entering. Beverage options span from Aguas Frescas like Horchata to the classic Jarritos in various flavors and of course, cola drinks. Though no cerveza of any kind- which we found a little odd. Now for the food, I came for one reason and one reason only; Quesabirria tacos, which this place has a combo of 3 with consume for roughly $10. A little steep compared to Mexico lol, but absolutely delicious and perfectly satisfying. My boyfriend ordered 4 birria street tacos with consume as well. The meat was tender, hot, and juicy. The perfect treat after waiting the necessary amount of time to eat following my dentist appointment! This restaurant can consider me it's newest fan.

Didn't even give myself a chance to take a photo of the food. We tried the 4 mini tacos (carne asada and al pastor). Both were delicious and savory. -Ordering was easy and fast. -very chill ambiance. Highly recommend.

That kitchen is not playing around! My recommendation is to go here for the exquisitely prepared cuisine. I've read the reviews complaining about the pricing. Inflation sucks, what can I tell you. But we certainly can't blame businesses. Trust me, most family owned businesses are in survival mode right now. They use more expensive cuts of meats, and with inflation, all the pricing was very fair to me. Especially considering how high quality it all was. Top quality, actually. Tender, juicy, packed with savory and citrus flavors. The consommé was heavenly. Loved the atmosphere. Clean, bright colors, Mexican Exitos playing on the tv makes it a fun vibe for sure. I'll be back as often as I can. Protect La Birreria at all costs!

Fantastic tacos. Spicy salsa. Fast service. Nice vibes inside. Bit pricey. Love the cool garnishes.

I will not claim to be an expert on birria, but I was quite impressed with my meal; a true 10/10 in my eyes. The consome is perfect for dunking and loaded with cilantro and onions. I appreciated that this place was very casual. You walk in, order, sit down. They bring you chips and salsa while you wait for your order. The interior was festive and clean. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick.

This is definitely the best birria and best Mexican food I have ever had! SO. DANG. GOOD! They have birria everything here! Birria burritos, consome, quesabirria tacos, tortas, and more! Prices are extremely affordable with almost the whole menu sitting at under $12 a plate. The portions are generous and the meat just melts in your mouth. If you dine in, they bring complimentary chips and salsa to your table. The staff are very kind and friendly. Location is on Perrin Beitel Rd near the crossroad Wurzbach Pkwy. It is a small stand alone building painted bright green and orange. The parking is along the back/side of the building. I can't eat any other birria after eating here. This is the only one I want! If I lived in San Antonio, I would probably come once a week. It's that good!

I'm new to the area so I have been trying a few different Birria places. So far this is the BEST. You can pick either lamb or beef Birria, I got lamb. Very good. Great service and the restaurant is cute as well.

This is my second time here and they did not disappoint! Everything was hit and fresh. Tasty sauce and great portions! It's not a looker but worth the visit!

Who does not love birria? We gave this place a try as the reviews online were raving about it. This mom and pop's shop is friendly, warm and cozy. The menu selection is short which for us is a sign of quality and freshness. We decided to try the quesabirrias combo and the papas locas. They have lamb or beef option for the birria, we went with lamb for both. The quesabirrias are amazing, very flavorful and so crispy. I would not recommend the loaded fries as they were soggy and not very memorable. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll be back!

The service is on point made us feel like family. We ordered a birria pizza, Birria tacos, Birria torta and quesa Birria. Everything including the consume was bomb ! The taste is delicious this is our Birria to go to place when we don't feel like cooking it ourselves and eating out. Thank you for the amazing service and yummy food. Oh and we also got the birria loaded fries also 100/100

Stopped here with two of my pens after a soccer game before heading back to Austin. My middle son is a self-proclaimed birria snob and he put this in his top 2. We both enjoyed the quesabirria tacos. My youngest opted for the birria nachos and he liked them as well. Fresh salsas in squeeze bottles also available. I can never get enough of the creamy jalapeño. The waitress was nice. She let me practice my Spanish but was happy to help my sons in English. The restaurant is festively decorated and there's never ending Spanish music videos on TV while you stuff your face. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I hope we can return next time we're in the area!

Nothing is like home cooked Birria. Something I truly miss since moving to Texas. Was craving Birria and found this little gem. The food was very tasty and a definite return visit. I got the Burribirrias and my husband got the mini tacos and Noodlebirria. He said the noodles were tasty but wish it was a little less generic. The noodles was basically a cup of noodle with their birria in the noodles. Overall the place is really good. Friendly staff and a very clean restaurant.

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!
