Decided to come here for lunch with my dad. And let me tell you, we picked this place because it was new to us and we wanted something different. Yelp has great reviews of this place and yelpers didn't disappoint. I had two tacos. One breakfast potato and chorizo on corn, and a different taco that the gentleman recommended because it has mushrooms. The discada; asada, onion, bell pepper, mushroom, bacon, and cheese. I didn't know the size of the tacos and since they are very reasonably priced, I ordered some fries to share with my dad. Didn't need them. Huge tacos and very reasonably priced. My dad ordered the discada and brisket tacos. I didn't take pictures of them. But I tasted the brisket and it was very flavorful. The fries I waited to eat but were still hot and seasoned very well. The gentleman who helped us, answered our questions and was very helpful. The restaurant is super clean and although I was scared looking at it from the outside, I felt very secure and enjoyed sharing a meal with my dad there. 9.5/10 read more

Stopped in for some breakfast tacos while waiting for a tow truck (got sideswiped at the intersection last night). LA LUNA AZUL DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! My breakfast today lives true to the San Antonio breakfast taco legend I'd been told about before moving here. The bacon & egg is delightfully simple, with a perfectly cooked strip of bacon (not too chewy, not too crispy, tastes like bacon should). The chorizo & egg has that kick you want from chorizo, with the flavors & spices rounding out for a perfect bite every time. But the real winner is the SAUSAGE GRAVY TACO!! The meat is cooked in a rich blend of spices in a mexican gravy that made me wish I got more than one! Prices are reasonable (4 tacos for under $10) and the interior is clean and well maintained. The food didn't come right out, so you know it's cooked fresh to order. I could have added pictures, but I ate them all too fast before I thought about it. Give this place a try!!! Don't be fooled by this book's cover, it's a hidden gem. I found them from google, and they have better google reviews than any other Mexican restaurant in the vicinity for good reasons. I've ordered from here several times so give a legit review. They're not perfect and have forgotten my salsa and tortillas before, but just minor inconveniences like that. I love their salsa ranchera. It's more of a sauce instead of chucky tomatoes, onions, and jalepenos like other places. If you like salsa ranchera with big chunks of veggies, this isn't for you. Their beans are good too. They have good size breakfast tacos. Their papa con chorizo is good without being too greasy. I haven't tried any other food other than breakfast but googles pictures of their other food items looks good as well. I'm going to add pictures next time I order here. read more

Alright, I've eaten here for far too long to not give a review. I started a new job last year and have been getting breakfast/lunch here almost daily. The food and service is unmatched. Best breakfast tacos I have ever had, hands down. So I was headed somewhere else and found this place. Walked in and was greeted immediately. Didn't see salad on the menu so I asked. He could see I was in my workout clothes and said yes he would make one for me and he would make it low carb!!! He added delicious grilled chicken, beef and bacon yummm!! When I was looking for a new place to try near my parents home while visiting, I saw this place and that it has a 5 star. I mean the reviews were selling it and I bought in. First I will say that the place is your average place, small and cozy. The gentleman that helped us was nice and attentive so they certainly have that going for them.... Now to the food. Granted we only got breakfast tacos but some folks raved about them.... Well I felt cheated. :( The tacos are a good size so you do get value for your money but I swear I must have put 3 packages of salt on each taco and tons of salsa to give it some flavor. They are not the worse I have ever eaten but they were just ok. It isn't a place I would return too, at least not for breakfast tacos. Maybe their other items are more flavorful. read more

The steak burrito and quesadilla were dry and the milanesa was too thick and too chewy. Since I'm not from Texas, Chicago born and raised. Tried La Luna Azul for the first time and was very impressed!! Everyone loves their tacos. The majority of us got carne guisada and they were so good.
