Time for a review update. It's been a while since I have been here, but decided to stop in for Taco Tuesday. One of their daily specials is Street Tacos for $2. When I last came the food was good, but I thought they were stingy on the amount of meat. This time I got 2 carne asada and 1 chicken tacos. All of they were packed pretty well with meat and it was just as flavorful as I remember. Their fish tacos are pretty good, but I just prefer them at a different place. Came into town for business and needed somewhere to eat. It doesnt usually happen where you go to the first place that pops up in a search and it turns out to be a gold mine. The food is authentic, delicious and something you would end up craving after until you come back. The staff is super friendly. Location is good and the resaturant itself is very clean and kept well. My dude wanted fish tacos and I was running errands in the MTB, so I gave this place a try. It's clean, in a good location, and has a great menu that's easy to read and has pictures to help customers. I think I caught them during a shift change where the lead cook or manager was on a quick break because for a time it was kind of unorganized as the group who ordered before me had a large order and I could tell there was some miscommunication when their food was ready. The cashier was pretty inexperienced and the guy making the food seemed confused. After taking care of the large party that came before me, the more experienced cook came to the back, and a woman who seemed to be in charge arrived. The concept is really nice but I did notice that the salsa bar area was messy and hadn't been cleaned or refilled in a while - again I think I came during a shift change before the people who were managers got back on the line and cleaned up the place. My order of two potato tacos, two fish tacos and chips and guacamole were ready - if after an extended wait - and I brought them home. The potato tacos and fish taco were good, the guacamole and chips were too small for what they charged me for - but overall, not a bad spot. I think if I go back, I'll just eat there, but hopefully when a manager and more experienced crew are working :) read more

Carne Asada Street Tacos: Look at the pictures. As if they can't even warm up tortillas because they were cold and hard to swallow. They don't put any ingredients as cilantro and onions but they don't tell you to get your own. They just point you to the salsa bar. $2.45 for a sorry ass street taco???? NEVER AGAIN!!! Fish Tacos: Typical frozen fish stick appearance, tortillas cold and lots of cabbage and crap to make it look good. Each taco is $2.75 NEVER AGAIN!!! Lengua Burrito: Actually had a taste, average but surprisingly better than anything else. Of course, this was loaded with rice and beans and very little meat. Coming back????? Probably one of my favorite places to eat at locally! I use to go to the one in El Monte all the time but ever since this one opened up right in my neighborhood I come here once a week ^_^ The food items that are my favorite consist of the protein grilled fish taco, the shrimp ceviche, and the shrimp cocktail... all are so tasty! My parents love the food here as well, they've tried the burritos, cocktails, quesadillas, and more! There's plenty of seating and there music playing all the time. I got off work pretty late in the evening and I wanted something fast and GOOD. It was taco Tuesday so I went looking for some good tacos. I came across this place on yelp and I called in a phone order and told them I would be there in about 7 minutes. This place is a bit hidden right next to the 99 cent store. Be mindful that their are a ton of other restaurants on the other side of the parking lot so this place is easy to miss. I walked in and it was extremely clean and fresh inside. The lady in the front was the same person that took my phone order and was very friendly and all smiles. I told her my name and waited only about 5 minutes for my order. I ordered the Carne Asada Red wet burrito and 3 fish tacos for my friend. The burrito was unique because the sauce they used on top of the burrito tasted like CHILE COLORADO . It was a very unique taste that made it taste home made. The tacos were very tasty also. They are overly breaded which makes the fish taste get a little lost but it still taste good. This spot is one of our go-to's for Postmates or takeout, because the food is always delicious! However, today 4/15/21 at 4:23 PM we were helped by the cashier who was RUDE!!! She didn't seem to have patience and we were not even taking long to order. She threw the pen on the counter when asking for my signature and she also threw the straws when getting our drinks ready. I didn't get her name since she wasn't wearing a name tag, but the receipt says 'Karina'. I understand people have bad days or may have a lot going on, but that doesn't make it acceptable to treat customers that way. We were also missing 2 potato tacos from our order, but didn't notice until later since they confirmed with my partner that everything in the bag when he asked. I think we'll just stick to ordering through Postmates to not deal with the hostile staff if we ever decide to order from them again. read more

I ordered about 8 items but missing 3 sets of tacos. Not cool. 3) food extremely salty. On August 9, 2023, at about 02:10 p.m. Our office party experienced an insulting service over a cup on that day. A party member inadvertently placed their beer into one of the cups intended for the soft drink; we asked for another cup on noticing the mistake. The La Bufadora cash register and the manager wanted to charge our party an extra soft drink and cup. She said they could not replace the cup the beer was placed in with another cup. The Bufadora staff proceeded put the beer into two small water cups, rinse out the cup, and give it back to us for the soft drink. We requested to speak with the manager and ask for the manager's name and corporation office information. The information they provided us was incomplete. All of this for a .10 cents cup? read more

So I'm back, hungry and cautious. Dining inside has become an adventure during COVID. I TRIED MY FIRST INSIDE DINING AT La Bufadora in Montebello. The place has a real Baja feel, music and all. We ordered the fish tacos with shrimp and taco potato on tow. Very tasty and very well presented. The kitchen staff all wear masks and gloves also the cashier. The place Is organize for social distancing and it is impeccably clean with sanitizer available and accesible. So, I ended ordering a second round, they were that good. The taco catering tray I ordered came to $45. I'm not complaining about the taste or the cost. My main complaint is for a large tray like that, I got two small salsas, green and red and two small sized guacamole and one slightly larger sized guacamole. The guacamole and salsas did not match with the large platter of nachos. I would rather have more than not enough. Had I known they were going to be so skimpy, I would have ordered more myself.
