Well, the only thing I've had from this bakery has been the cakes. I'll start with a slice of carrot cake, which was very delicious. Moist with a great flavor and if I would have to buy a full size carrot cake I would. I also had a slice of the mango cake same thing it was very tasty, but for my personal taste it was a little too sweet but then again it's not fair to say that it's sweet because my taste buds are overly sensitive but if mango flavor is what you're looking then this is the cake for you. If you need of a traditional tres Leche cake, you won't go wrong with this delicious cake. Once again it's not your typical highly sweet and soggy Tres leches cake. The flavor is on point moist and delicious. The service was very nice when I asked if they could decorate the cake a little out of the ordinary so it didn't look so plain and they did an outstanding job. Crispy outer crust and soft buttery inside, perfect for your "tortas" or simply with some butter spread inside. They also have a giant bolillo! Their champurrado is delicious and seasonal. On this visit we ordered a small rosca de Reyes aka Kings cake for the Epiphany on January 6th, the texture, flavor and size was pure perfection. Pricing was on point for straight from the bakery and they went the extra mile of packaging it securely so I could place in my luggage and fly back home. Ok one day in Sept I was stopping by my favorite Pan Dulce bakery shop to buy some sweet bread when lo and behold !! I spotted in the bakery cake case ?? A lemon snow cake just like the one I use to get at George's Wonderful World of cakes . I'm sad that I was disappointed. My boyfriend ordered my birthday cake from here this week and it was somewhat disappointing. Apparently he asked for it to be decorated differently and it wasn't done how he wanted it. When we walked in to pick it up I saw all the pan dulces and had to get some because they all looked so perfect. One thing I noticed is the prices for the sweet breads were pretty outrageously overpriced but if it's good then I could justify it but unfortunately I couldn't justify it. Each bread was between $3-$4 each and so not worth it. They were pretty dry and didn't have flavor. I grabbed like 5 breads and it was $22 smh. When we came home and had the cake which was tres leches it was really really dry - disappointing. The Oreo filling was good and the light whipped cream topping was good but that was about it. The cono (Danish dough filled with Bavarian cream) was probably best out of this bunch. Delicious Bavarian cream. I enjoyed the pastry's texture. Last place: Cherry empanada. It didn't suck. I've been coming here on and off for many years for conchas and coffee. But I recently asked Claudia if she made wedding cakes, and she made my fiancée and me a stunner! Ours was a two-tier white cake with raspberry filling, with fondant & piping on the outside. Claudia was great at taking our half-formed ideas and creating a beautiful design from them. The cake was delivered on time and in excellent condition to our reception dinner venue. You have to head to the side area by the mobile phone service store to enter. The staff is friendly and are good with keeping everything sanitary. I give it 3 stars because the pistachios cake taste undercook, soggy, and no flavor very disappointing because I would order this cake in the past prior to the location closing for remodeling. Masks are required.* Can watch the area where food is baked from window. *Cons: While enjoying my baked goods outside from my parked vehicle and enjoying the view of the food being taken in and out of the oven, I was disappointed to see one staff member amongst other staff members and baked goods not wearing his mask correctly (as in only over mouth and not over nose). A second staff member was also on the brink of this practice too with his mask barely over his nostrils. My experience went from appreciative of what seemed like the running of a tight ship to disappointment when seeing that this was only the case for the front facing part of the business. read more
