This place is always busy and has a handful of regulars that give it some serious character. Large selection of drinks and teas, in-house roasted coffee for take home as well. It's like you stepped into a '90s TV show for a coffee, big leather chairs, and lots of wood accents. Luckily there is also a large patio to enjoy the sunshine and your drink on. They do have some pastries for snacks but not a place to grab a bite for lunch, just fresh coffee. We are thankful to have a place like this to call our local coffee shop. read more

I've always passed this place by and finally tried their blended mocha. It was rich in flavor and perfectly blended in cocoa and coffee.

Strike one- asking how many shots of espresso I wanted (i ordered a double hoping they were asking what size basket to use but based on what I saw ....) Strike two- served in a paper to go cup. Stopped by here on my way to work today for some much needed caffeine. La Costa has a lot of outdoor seatings and a couple tables inside, making it a good place to do work. I came at 8 AM and it was pretty bustling already. I really wanted to like it, but the drinks are just so extremely subpar. I got a vanilla latte which tasted like the free kind I can get from the machine in the office-- not good. I only drank 1/4 before I dumped it. My friend has been a couple times and agrees that the other drinks taste similar. There are much better places out there that you should consider going to instead. read more

Ugh, I hate giving a local place two stars, but sadly....they earned it. I was early to meet my friend for brunch and decided to have a quiet cup of coffee, sit outside, and people watch. The barista wasn't too friendly, even after I told her it was my first time here. I was expecting her to make suggestions or something, but nothing. I asked if the Vanilla Cream was recently brewed...she said it was. Ok, I'll try a cup. See, here's my thinking...your coffee has to be good before mixing in whatever syrups/flavors you have. She left some room for cream. Eh, wasn't impressed. It was $1.75....I would've happily paid more if it was better. The place is cute though. Seating inside and out. Free wi-fi (and I easily connected to it)...but something was missing- really great coffee. I won't return. Sad face. read more

I recently had coffee here for the first time and was so pleasantly surprised to see they had live music outside. The coffee was amazing and pastries were lovely. I've been a guest at La Costa Coffee since the 1990s and unless I'm out of town there is simply no other place that I'll get my coffee! The products from this roastery speak for themselves, so come give it a try if you're not already a fan. The main reason for this review is to pay a compliment to this local, family-owned business and the great work they're doing staying afloat during this pandemic. The owner (also the master roaster) and his well-chosen staff always brighten your day with their appreciation for your business. The environment is relaxing and feels very small business/local. Their jamocha almond coffee beans are the best. They make the best chai lattes. Pastries are good as well, lemon poppyseed bread is my fav. Employees are very friendly. read more

Before walking in, you see signage of store mask policies as well 6ft requirements. All the tables that normally inside are now outside and the tape they placed on the floor to measure out 6ft for the people standing in line. They do offer hand sanitizer (which is located where the sugar and creamer is). The ladies working there were really on it on pumping out orders and taking orders. I was not in there waiting for long waiting for my coffee. I ordered their cold brew and it really it the spot for this heat. This part is only my taste, I do wish it was a bit stronger, it was a bit "watered down" but the flavor is still there and I know that is because I enjoy a strong favored coffees. But it's not enough for me to not order it again when I'm in the area again. read more

Love this place. The smell alone is amazing from the freshly roasted coffee. We only get our coffee and loose leaf tea here. The quality is amazing. They will mix teas together for you. I usually get berry patch and assam mixed to take home. They have many different coffees and will help you find something you'll like. Many different syrup to add. Great outside area! Nice little place a bit off the beaten path from the 5, but good availability of seating both inside and out with an easy vibe. Has the usual coffees and carb loaded stuffs for pretty much anytime. Service is friendly, efficient and somewhat quirky in a nice way. Internet is reasonably fast and even a crowded venue didn't slow it down as opposed to some of the more boutique places about. No issue with doing work or studying in the comfy couches or chairs as well as the wooden tables about, either in or outside. read more

I'll start with the cons so we can end on a positive note. Situation: Monday 9:45 AM (President's Day holiday), chilly outside and very windy. Cons: crowded. Standing room only. Hovered around waiting for someone to vacate a table so I could eat my bagel. No mention of food items on menu, yet there is a case full of pastries. Breakfast sandwiches advertised, but none available. No prices on food. Pro/con, I can't decide; it appears as if at least a third of people here seem to know each other and don't mind talking through me (as I now scored a small table) and people on either side of me are acquaintances. I've never ordered any of their drinks here but I purchase their whole bean house blend that they source and roast in house. I am a coffee snob and really only brew my own drinks. I make a double shot latte every morning with their house blend and it is an awesome blend. Each batch of new beans that I buy takes 2-3 shots to get the right extraction for my taste but the sweet spot is amazing. read more

It looks like a five-star coffee place, but it's sub-Starbucks with a much hipper look. They have a top-dollar roasting machine, but incredibly acidic espresso, and the body of the roast has all the depth of a cup of McDonald's coffee. Their food is a loser here, too. The Croissant looks pretty, but it's a semi-stale bread, not a true croissant. Not enough butter in the dough. Their breakfast burritos are plastic wrapped, in the refrigerated case. While we're on the subject of cold, the counter staff is lost in a haze of slinging out stuff and can't seem to muster even the most basic pleasantries like "Good morning." It's crowded. Definitely a local watering hole, mostly because it's got a pretty ideal location. I'm just visiting the area and, in my travels, have hit maybe a thousand coffee houses, so, what do I know? They'll do great here because, apparently these folks pack in. Go figure. I'm actually so disappointed in the quality of the coffee and and inedible pastries that I'm going to go back to 2051 Cafe, that I hit on my tour yesterday, a couple of miles away.
