Apparently the PR team worked harder than the coffee bar. The coffee tasted like it was made out of obligation, the staff had that fake-nice energy, and the whole place felt weirdly neglected. This drink is a bit on the pricier side, the matcha cold foam is sweet, and the matcha itself has a great taste and smoothness. I would definitely suggest to anyone who loves a good balance of sweetness to ask for light sweetener. *For reference, I got the matcha with cold foam, sub special syrup for vanilla, and I add salt. Such a cute cafe! I absolutely loved all the yellow decor, it felt like sunshine! The line was super long but it went pretty fast. The workers were really nice and friendly. I liked how there was a register to order and another worker who would go down the line also taking orders; it was very efficient! The merch was so cute, I had to get a mug! Calling itself as Cafe de Lala, the ambiance felt bit distinctive to either the Grove or the Santa Monica (Montana) one. Felt like more upscale with more people hanging out than working or studying. The turnaround was way quicker and certainly felt more chill. Pre-order by app was still preferred as sometimes it might got busy and the line could be long. Not being to La La Land for awhile, I was bit astonished how their menu had grown and more fun stuffs to try including their Cafe de Lala, this outlet's special menu with Viennese latte and their house made cream. The size was small, but pretty satisfying as the coffee was bold and balanced by thick rich cream. It might be heavy and more dessert alike, so it went back to preference. Stopped by before a meeting and immediately noticed how beautiful and open the space is. There's plenty of seating, especially outside, which makes it a great spot to get some work done or meet up with someone. Service was amazing, the cashier was super friendly and helped me decide between a few drinks. I ended up ordering the "Einspanner Latte" and topped it with matcha, and it was a solid 10/10. Most people with a drink in their hand will probably have one from here, you can spot their signature cup and yellow straw. We ordered an iced perfect latte with oat milk. We wanted to get a drink with their dairy-free cream top (love that they have a dairy-free option!!) but sadly they were out of it or it wasn't working. Took BB to the famous La La Land Café at The Grove on Wednesday evening. She loves the movie it's named after, so this was a must-do for her. We ordered the La La Latte and the Matcha Squared Latte. The La La Latte lacked flavor and sweetness for me, but BB really enjoyed her matcha, which I was glad about. The ambience is very cute and Instagram-friendly -- lots of whites, golds, and yellows, along with fun details like heart-cutout straws. They also have cute merch available, including clothing, cups, keychains, and magnets. The café is fully staffed and consistently busy, with a line even in the evening. There's seating both inside and outside, and the space feels open and airy. Overall, I'm glad we were able to experience it, especially for BB. First time at La La Land and not the best, I was expecting amazing top notch drinks especially for the price but just felt sort of sad and rushed. Drinks only made for a photo instead of the taste. Long line as always, and staff was friendly. This was at the grove so there is outdoor seating since it's very cramped on the inside. I tried the s'mores hot chocolate with some weird foam on top that tasted very out of place. My boyfriend got the banana matcha which was actually good. I've had La La Land on my coffee list for a while, and let's just say it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent, and the time it took to make our drinks was fast and efficient. Ambiance wise it's really nice and good for social media posts, but I don't think I would hangout or work here. As for the menu itself, they had a lot of different option, but I opted to try the Banana Cloud Latte. So far I'd say it's the best Banana Latte I've had in LA. The aesthetically pleasing interior and exterior is quite reminiscent of Parisian patisseries but with a modernized and glamorous flair. I had their matcha which had a nice flavor. The cream top complemented the drink well and was enjoyable. The prices are a little steep for what they are. However, you can tell that a lot of the small details were thought of for the customer experience such as the design of the lids and cups. As standard for LA, the parking experience is not a good time. Additionally, the wait times for their drinks can be a little long especially on days where it gets busy. Would I come back and get coffee from them again? Probably if I'm in the area. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get it. I did enjoy the drink but competition is high in Southern California and I can get pretty stellar drinks elsewhere. read more

This is and will probably always be a treat for me. It's not a go-to kind of coffee shop for ME because it's more of a novelty, in my opinion. However, my opinion was solely based on the Calabasas location at The Commons where it's not a quick drop-in for coffee. You have to find parking in their "always hard to find parking" parking lot due to its popular kind of mall location. And the lines are usually long because there's a draw for visitors, locals and non-locals. Because it's Calabasas if you know what I mean. HOWEVER, this L.A. location is different. It's not in a mall and it's right on 3rd St. Parking sucks because it's only street meter parking, but that goes with the territory in LA, and especially in this Beverly/West Hollywoodish neighborhood. But without the big outdoor mall environment it is worth the visit because their coffee and other drinks are really good. Even their cold oats is really good, pricey for such a small cup, but good. They didnt have the amazing cucumber & smoked salmon salad, which is not usually on any menu, but at the Calabasas location you just ask for it even though it's not on their menu. We arrived here near closing time so they were either out of it, or they don't serve it at this location. But you should ask for it if you want to try it. It's delicious and it comes with yellow chopsticks!! xoxo La La Land was the first place I tried the trendy cookie croissant. They may not be the ones who invented it, but it was sooooo good. I like this location because it has an indoor/outdoor feel because the indoor tables are literally next to the outdoor tables when the whole wall is open from seat hight up during business hours. Literally the whole wall is open without windows. So if you come with people, some of you could be seated inside and some outside, and you'd kind of still be seated together. Came on a Saturday afternoon. Tons of people were there but the line to order was short. The inside offers a good amount of seating and has a giant open wall/window that makes it feel like you're inside and outside at the same time. Their outdoor seating area is also quite sizable. Although it was busy, there was still enough room for everyone to have a seat. The music does get pretty loud though. Butter Croissant - Flaky with lots of layers. Large. Matcha Squared - Perfect balance of bitter and sweetness. Blended well, no matcha powder on the bottom. Comes in a sturdy, cute to-go cup. The workers were on the ball and super attentive. Late to the game as always, I discovered La La Land Kind Cafe while at Joan's on Third across the street. I was curious by the small crowd hanging outside this bright yellow spot. The menu is displayed clearly at eye level, so I found several things that appealed to me. Considering I say I gave up coffee a while back, I went with a hot cocoa on my first visit. While waiting, I saw some cute cups being put out for to-go orders. Since mine was a hot drink, it was in a sunny yellow hot cup. On subsequent visits, I tossed out my no-coffee resolution and tried one of their signature beverages, the 'World's Best Vanilla Latte' which was decent, but my standout here has been the 'La La Latte' (iced) with espresso (you can also choose matcha), oat milk, vanilla bean, and their classic standard 'cloud'. It is on the sweeter side (you can modify the amount of vanilla, etc.) so this makes me feel as though I'm not giving into coffee again. I really enjoyed this and the cheerful 'adult sippy-cup' it came in. Be cautious though; this will leak if the lid is not secure. When I mentioned above this didn't seem like my kind of coffee place, I have to admit I thought of the movie w/ the same name, but I overcame my judgement in comparing the two, and I confess to being a fan of La La Land Cafe! read more

We are lucky that there was no line the night we went but were very tempted by their massive amazing and glamorous chandelier. I had a really disappointing experience at La La Land today. I ordered a coffee and waited over 25 minutes without hearing anything. When I finally went to ask about my order, the staff couldn't even find it and told me that someone may have taken it. What was most frustrating was the way the situation was handled. Instead of apologizing or offering to quickly remake the drink, I was met with attitude when I asked for a refund. I was told it would take up to five days to get my money back, despite the fact that I never received my order. Meanwhile, I had been standing outside in 80 degree weather with my pup waiting. Mistakes happen, but good customer service is about how those mistakes are resolved. Unfortunately, there was very little accountability, no urgency to make things right, and no effort to turn the experience around. I left feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. read more
